  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  Unfortunately Singapore has a large migrant workforce who live in conditions similar to a wetmarket and when these Migrant workers returned from holiday a firestorm of infection overwhelmed the country.

  One interesting comparison is that of Ireland and New Zealand almost identical populations and both surrounded by a moat (island nations)

  look how New Zealand has stopped the virus in its tracks compared with Ireland.

  Hi Simon

  the data above will rapidly change as the EU policies on lock-down show a decrease while the USA was later on to get onto the world stage. Time will tell but I expect the GEZRO figures to go the other way.

  Coronavirus Positive

  hey all,.

  i'm day six of isolation, confirmed to have coronavirus.

  i have been seeing very sick cv positive patients over the last month in my a&e role (emergency physician) it was inevitable i would contract it.. just wanted to give some symptom and treatment advice, it's anecdotal but may help.. started as sore throat and headache, then croaky voice, then dry cough, then episodic transient fevers, all this over the first few days.

  Hi S&R

  is it OK to use nasal poti Warm saline rinse to clear the sinuses I have been using on for a few years an it helps.

  TIA and hope that you get well soon. Its a terrible virus but looking at the wet markets of Asia they have been playing Russian Roulette for years now. I was just a matter of time.

  we don’t get many invitations to congregational social gatherings.

  we don’t attend midweek meetings and miss about 1/3 of sunday meetings.

  we go in service at least once a month.

  how much has meeting attendance gone down say the last 10-15 years at khs do you think?

  I went to our local KH out of interest two weeks ago the attendance on that day was 55 and looking at the attendance figures on the wall that was the norm the other congregation that shares the hall had a similar attendance this is well down on an average attendance of 110 in both congregations a year ago

  perhaps when the generation flip flop was on the monthly broadcast then things changed
