Stumbling

i heard it until i was sick of it, this constant litany about refraining from this or that behavior, or activity, or opinion because it might, it just might, stumble someone.. well, damnit, how many people were stumbled right out of the wtb&ts just because of their behaviors?.

how 'bout those of us who were stumbled out because of a low tolerance for hypocrisy?.

or because of a low tolerance for lying?.

Newbies! The Deception:An Example

yesterday, in this thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=9805&site=3 i spouted these words: happened to drag rays book, isocf from its hidding place in my car....at lunch time today.. i opened to any page, i needed to brighten my day like no other j-dub borg book, could ever do.. .

i found a deception for the many newbies, trolls and plants that have been visiting us here in spiritual paradise, aka:simons board .

i cant post it till tommorow, because i cant bring that book into the house while the j-dub wife is trolling around.

Thanks for the post.

This really does put the spot light on the WTS and shows us
what kind of orginization this really is.

And the parents of these children that are FORCED to lie
fot the WTS?
What can they be thinking?!?!

The WTS claims to be Gods chosen orginization.
The WTS claims to be under Gods direction.
The WTS claims to be the vehicle that God is using to dispense His Truth.

How can these parents really think God, the same God they claim to worship,
wants them to decieve and lie for the WTS?

As Francoise has said, Jesus spoke the truth without fear or favor. He always spoke the truth.
That was one of the caractoristics of His true disciples.

But as we can see in this example, the WTS really isn't interested in what's right
and wrong, they are only interested in saving thier own necks.
And they are demanding thier followers to lie under oath!

Why are the JW's so bad?

i've been studying the bible with a jehovah's witness in my town, and i'm rather enjoying it.. but why do so many people hate the jw's.. i've researched on my own and have come to the conclusion that they are right on most accounts including the trinity, blood, nationalism... etc.... and the more arguments i hear against the more i'm drawn into believing what they stand for.. and every argument i've seen in support of the things jw's are against the more i think the jw's are right.. so why are they so bad?

I don't think many here hate individual JWs.
It's more of a hate for any high control group.
And yes, the WTS does fall into the catagory of high control groups.

All of us that haven't been brought up a JW have said the same thing.
We've all done our own research, at least that's what we thought.

The thing is,the research was done with thier material,looking at the info. thru the eyes of
the WTS.

What will they say to you if you tell them you want to read the Bible on your own?

What will they say to you if you tell them you want to check out thier past teachings?

You said, every argument you hear against them makes you believe that they are right.

So all of the information that is out on the WTS, the failed prophecies, the changes in
thier teachings over the years, the fact that they claim that they (WTBTS) are Gods
chosen org. and yet have gotten so many things wrong mean nothing to you?

Well then. There is nothing anyone can say to you.
You're going to learn the hard way.
OK. We'll see you back here sometime asking more questions and looking
for advice.

Just remember. All you have to do is open your eyes.
There's plenty of info with plenty of proof out there about the WTS.

Are there any inactive bro/sis. trying to get back

i was wondering if there are any brothers or sisters who for various reasons have drifted away or left the truth and are trying to get back to serve jehovah.

Hi matrix,
Welcome to the board.
You said "trying to get back to serve Jehovah."
Do you really feel that by going back to the meetings is serving Jehovah?

Someone once said, " The meetings is where we get taught by Jehovah."
Now think about that statement.
If people were truly being taught by God there, why all the changes in the teachings?
I know. You're going to say it's 'new light'.
But won't you agree that new light adds to old light, it doesn't replace it?
Can you truthfully say that what you're being taught now is the same
thing you were being taught just a few years ago?

And of course we must mention the 'Generation Teaching'.
You know the one.
The generation that was alive to see the events of 1914 and on will NOT pass away until
all the events leading up to the great tribulation occur.
In fact didn't the WTBTS say that there would be some from the 1914 generation that would
enter the 'New System'?

Now tell me please. If Jehovah is using the WTS and He is dispensing His Truth
on matters thru them, why is it the WTS keeps getting things wrong?

In the Bible, any time someone claimed to speak for God and really
had Gods backing, what they said came to pass. The WTS has claimed to speak for God.
In fact, they are so bold as to claim that they are Gods chosen orginization.
But what they have taught has been wrong!
And they are constantly changing thier teachings.

What you are doing in field service is not preaching Jesus,
but preaching the WTBTS.

Think about it.

As messenger said, "The meetings are nothing but glorified sales meetings."

for the story, see my "cute baby bird story" post.. seems that "peckerhead" isn't the best choice for a name.. well, she won't be living at the shop and being a "mascot" or anything so letting my customers name her is pointless and the other guys at the shop won't chip in to buy her food ($3/day for mealworms).

you see what i came up with, so why don't y'all give me some suggestions for a name?.

small, ravenous appetite, sometimes clumsy, and for some unknown reason just loves me to death.. so what do you think?.

last night, i found myself wondering aloud about something i never thought i would consider: purchasing a gun.

previously, i had very strong anti-gun sentiments.

i felt, and still do to some extent, that freely available guns in this country are an immediate threat to children and add to the violent perception others have of americans.

I have to say ditto to what Francoise has said on this matter.
I also have never seen my guns, oh wait a minute,can't use the
word gun, (those who were in the military understand what that means )
have to call them weapons,--have never seen them hurt someone.

I do respect the pacifist' ideals on this matter of owning guns BUT,
we have to be realists here.
We live in a very dangerous world and there are people who won't think twice
about hurting you or your loved ones.
If you as a pacifist do not want to protect yourself with a gun that's fine.
But what about your loved ones?
Would you really let harm come to your wife/husband,daughter,son or anyone else you love
because you don't believe in guns?

Not everyone that owns a gun would use it I'm sure,
but I believe it's better to have a gun and know how to
use it, than not have one and need it.
