Kinda like the movie 'The Time Machine.' eh?

wow... it's been awhile since i've posted, there are a lot of new names here.
i just had to post on this.... i received a letter from my mother friday telling me that she and my father no longer wish to associate with my husband or me.
they will contact me in case of emergency but thats it.
"Their faith is so fragile that they could be swayed in their beliefs by merely associating with someone who has a different viewpoint."
I think this statement sums up the reason the WTS doesn't want thier followers asociating with anyone that doesn't believe what the WTS dishes out.
One question all JWS should ask themselves is,
If the WTS has and teaches the 'truth', then it SHOULD and CAN stand against any acusation, inquiry or attack.
So why should I be afraid to face unbelievers in the WTS?
Why?
Because the WTS tell them that they must not asociate with any that question the WTS.
Because the WTS knows that there are many teachings that would NOT stand if put under a magnifying glass.

dear e***, and a*****,.
i feel the need to address your stand regarding shunning katie.
you state .
Sorry to hear you're going thru this.
But it shows how much of a CULT JWs are.
Here you have a person being shunned.
Was she braking any of Gods laws?
Was she running amuck? ( What does amuck mean anyway?)
Is she evil and downright nasty?
No!
Her and your crime?
You don't want to be a JW.
You don't want to be enslaved to a man made orginization.
When I decided to no longer be a JW, I looked and looked thru the Bible and I could not find anywhere in the scriptures where it says that if a person no longer believes in a man made orginization, you must treat them as dead.
This is just another example of the UNChristion behaviour of the JWS.

before i tell you about the conversation, i need to give you some background.
i am 62 and my jw sister is 58. i left the religion when i was 22. that was 40 years ago.
in 1981, she read the hard stance article about those who have left and did not talk to me in more than a cursory way for 15 years.
Hi larc,
"She pointed out that it was a "composite sign' which included the preaching work."
Every believing JW says this.
Why?
Because the are 'programed' to.
But they don't understand that the good news thier preaching is NOT the same good news that was preached by the appostles.
'Armageddon is coming any time now.'
It's coming real soon.
Just around the corner
And if you want to survive, you MUST become a JW or else.
So for a JW to even bring up thier preaching activity is almost laughable.
I see more Mormans preaching than I do JWs.
What does this say about thier preaching?

do you think that you are easy to get along with?
are you judgemental?
are you positive?
Do any of us really know how we are percieved by people?
I think we can only answer this question thru the eyes of our egos.
Because I personally have never asked anyone how they percieve me.
And I don't think I will because I don't want to hear all of the negative things that would be said.
neyank
for those that have entirely left, what was it that first got you seriously thinking that this really wasn't the truth?
for those that may be in just mentally, you can answer too....
The first step for leaving the JWS (I will NOT call it the truth.) for me was realizing that the Governing Body is not what they claimed to be.
You know, Gods spokesmen and all.
Learning about the changes in teachings over the years added another reason to doubt the WTS.
Learning that people had died because of their false teachings was something I could not excuse. (Organ transplants)
And then to find out that these people had died for nothing because the WTS changed thier mind on that teaching a few years later.
The fact that the WTS considers selling, placing or distributing litterature the most important 'work' that a Christian can do just didn't jive.
What about feeding the poor, helping the hopeless, ect...?
To the WTS, these 'works' were a waste of time.
And of course we can't leave out the false prophecies, the unChristian behavior, the worshipping of the Governing Body.
Yes, I call it worshipping because the faithful JW will do and believe anything the Governing Body wants them to do.
Including letting thier children die refusing blood transfusions.
Which teaching is only based on thier (WTS) understanding of what the scripture means.
And then the final question I had to ask myself.
Can I go door to door telling people that they must become a JW to be saved at Armageddon?
No I could no longer tell people that the WTS has all the answers and they were Gods orginization.
The facts spoke for themselves.
That is why the WTS doesn't want thier followers looking at apostate sites and talking to any that don't believe in the WTS.
Because they can't dispute the facts.

i have believed that the great tribulation begins with some sort of nuclear attack on the united states.. events are emerging which increase the probability of such an event.. the archrivals at the end scene are the us and russia.
russia is in a dire state.
its economy hangs by a thread.
Hi proplog2,
"flee "Babylon the Great/Rich USA"."
Are you saying that you believe Babylon the Great to be the USA?
You realize the WTS teaches that Babylon the Great is the world of false religion.
So if you're backing thier teachings, you've got this one wrong.
neyank
all down through history, men and women have stepped forward and proclaimed that they clearly understand bible prophecy.
they've all been wrong.
that's supreme arrogance.. but in the last one hundred years, men of the watchtower have stepped forward and proclaimed that they not only clearly understand bible prophecy, but that they themselves clearly are bible prophecy being unfolded.. they are the latter day fulfillment of noah, abraham, moses, elijah, elisha, ruth, esther, naomi, isaiah, jeremiah, ezekiel, nahum, zephaniah, habukkuk, zechariah, john the baptist, the apostle john and the good parts of the revelation.
Howdy Farkel.
What would I call them???
A bunch of prophet wan-a-bees!!!
What else can we call them seeing as they have been wrong all the time.
Oh yes. I guess false prophets can apply here too.
But in the words of a poster you know well, they are a bunch of dip#%@#$!!!!!
