Witness people have a slightly hard time with equal application of principle:-)

in was baptized in 1983 at the age of 18. by the end of 1984, i was beginning the fade thing.
for 5 years i was an "inactive" witness.
i can recall maybe one visit from an elder , though a few more from some "friends" that had missed me.

i am not talking about screaming at them but i know many talk of helping a person out of a cult with kindness.
has anyone really helped a cult member out with it ?
my own experience kindness has just helped me get walked all over.
Hi kls, I kinda think it may depend on the relationship-if it is a family member, my own experience (my Dad was not a JW/Mom and my brothers and I were) was the more Dad would argue or debate us about our beliefs the the more resolve we had to "keep the faith." Now, maybe a close friend or work acquaitance might be able to be a bit more harsh and point out some things. Everyone is different, guess there is no "one way" to do it.

dear friends.
i've posted earlier this year that my mom suffered a stroke.
i just got the news that she passed away this evening.

i dont have much time to watch a lot of tv b/c im so busy w/ work and school but i am obsessed with monk and i have to watch it every friday night.
i even hate making plans friday nights cuz i dont like to miss it...what a dork, i know.
i also like family guy on cartoon network...so hilarious.
ohiocowboy, I like the Nanny as well. Funny though, when I was in Vienna, Austria, saw it in German, just didn't quite have the same effect-that voice is what helps to make the show so funny.

do you ever get used to bumping into witnesses that you know.. i still go out in with the thought of it tin the back of my mind.
i hate the death stares i get.
i feel like walking uo to them and saying "i'm not the devil or a murderer, just no longer a witness".

Fortunately, I have lived 200+ miles from my former congregation for over 13 years now!

well, this was my first ever glimpse of the dnc.
too bad i was still a loyal dub in 2000 because my hometown of philadelphia hosted the event.
i must say that if the district conventions had live musical guests, or energetic speeches, or if guests were allowed to bring in colorful signs in support of their state and nominee (or, favorite speaker and congregation), or if the brothers giving talks used a teleprompter instead of paper, or if they just made the convention both and educational and fun event, i might just think about going.

just had a witness encounter and it shook me and i'm not sure why.
a pioneer sister just came to my door.
she has a very sweet personality--she started off with a hug.
Hey Cyber sis, has it been awhile since you have had to deal with them?
.
i have one or two little spiders that i noticed living in my home... but i don't get rid of them hoping that they will keep the other bugs out.. does anyone else do this?.
I usually let them hang around, unless my daughter or husband sees them, then I will try first to remove them to the outside instead of killing them.
