How Do I Explain To My TalkTherapist That JW's Believe They Will Never Die?

i know for us exjw's that have awakened from this religion, it seems incredulous that we ever.

could have believed we were going to live forever and never die.. not just never die, but never die, like i was raised to believe with.

the millions now living will never die, garbage.. i said that to my highly educated professional therapist last week.. her eyes got big, and she said gently as to a child, "loislane, we are all going to die".. yes, i know that now, but that is not what my religion taught and i believed, for 60 years.. any thoughts on how i explain this lunacy to her?.

I could have sworn that I have seen that image in the past on the History channel or some other educational channel that assocaited that image with the goverment of Germany back in the days of WW2. I have searched the internet for german images, man, sunrise etc but cannot seem to find it. Anyone else remember seeing this image associated with Germany during that period? If so it might fit in nicely with the idea that Rutherford was pro german.

New Flock Book - Child Abusers NOT excluded from serving again

"shepherd the flock" book - page 38 - chapter 3 par.20 ........ (talking about disqualifying servants and elders) 20. if the sin occurred before he was appointed as an elder or a ministerial servant, the elders will need to take into consideration the fact that he should have mentioned this possible impediment to his being qualified when elders interviewed him just prior to announcing his appointment.

moreover, the nature of the sin may reflect greatly on his qualifications to serve.

for example, the sin may involve past child abuse, and this would likely disqualify him for many years.-w97 1/1 pp.

If I remember correctly, and I could be wrong, but in the Shepherding the Flock book have some referenced articles in those paragraphs that discussed child abuse of a sexual nature? If this is so, it would seem that the child abuse talked about in this part of the STF elders book was not talking about spanking too hard.

I agree with De Wandelaar,.

IF your goal is to help other JWs get out and you realize that a lurking Jw is teetering on edge of being able to see these videos, WHY in the world would you constantly slam them from visiting your videos?

I know that she is repsponding to some goofy comments on her blogs, but would not taking a caring approach to answering these comments with logical reasons as to why THEY are making these replies as there is the "confirmation bias' theory etc,..

I say come back with them in a educational stance to possibly help someone. I do realize that there are some of the Jws that will never get out and will continually be there making stupid comments, but there are also some that are doubting and the last thing that they need to see is something like this.

I commented awhile back asking why in the world would a youtube channel EVER state that the viewer, if a Jw, should not be here watching this and it is against the rules of the Gb.

I could never understand why Dinah would go over to another tribed to get raped. There were laws about being raped within the Jweish system of things, right? So does that not mean that since there were laws about rape that it must have been more than a infrequent experience.

i'm tired of hearing people grovel before their "benevolent" creator.. recently i was listening to a jw relative express regrets over their rebellious life-style when they were young.

then came that phrase:.

"i'm so greatful for jehovah's undeserved kindness and that he can accept me with my sinful past.".

THE DIVORCE OF THE CENTURY!

so there is a rumor going around about 1914 and its possible demise!.

i cant help but think of the many and i say many divorces (not to make light of the matter) that jw families have had to deal with among their ranks over the years.. however, knowing how long the wtbts and 1914 have been together and the thought of mother (wtbts) doing away with her man (1914) after nearly 100 years of marriage is truly heart breaking for some.

many old-timers probably still think of the old days when they were like any other happy couple; inseparable, always holding hands, romantic and the like.

I can understand the need to just let 1914 drift away but with the recent 2010 change of the definition of the word "generation" being over lapping how does this not keep 1914 ever present as this is the starting point of the 1st generation that will over lap with the 2nd generation.

because jesus said to those standing infront of him "then there will be great tribulation not seen since the worlds beginning until now and would never be seen again".

part of the signs that those who were standing in fornt of him would see in their lifetime.
