Need some help!!!!! URGENT

my wifes mother recently passed away, and it has devastated my wife.

the family, who are not witnesses, but out of respect for the deceased, and who was a jw, had the ceremony at the kingdum hell, which almost made me throw up... last time i ever step foot in that place.

i felt like a vampire on the threshold of a church, as i looked into the interior hall feeling my skin burn and start to smoke... anyways, as i have posted on here before a friend of my wife, has in the past, sent her (my wife) emails about going back to the kingdumb hell.

Those books that I suggested earlier are very important in getting a person to understand that this religion is a cult and that they have no backing from a God. So in turn, the hopes that the WTBTS hold out to members are not theirs to offer. Seeing dead loved ones back alive again is THE biggest carrot their is to hang out infront of someone to make them do as their told.

I know that you have a lot of post here, has she ever spent any time online reading about the WTBTS and how they do what they do?

Seriously need to order these books, Combatting Cult mind Control by Steven Hassan, Captives of a Concept Don Cameron AND Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz the latter 2 can be ordered as a download and are about 10.00 each, well worth the money.

Until then, how about seeing if she is open to reading some intersting facts on JWFACTS.com You might want to think about what subject she has had a issue with regarding the WTBTS and find a subject on that and share this with her.

Does she know about the change of definition in the word Generation ? This info can be found at JWFACTS.com

Can you share with is just how you guys came about leaving, what doubts etc that lead up to it and what if any research she did since?

Please share her story so we can make more suggestions.

Anyone want to chime in on how important these books are in keeping a person out?

Has she ever read:

1. Combatting Cult Mind Control by Steven Hassan ?

2. Captives of a Concept by Don Cameron ?

3. Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz?

I would think that once she figured out that the ORg is not able to deliver on their promises she might see the light and realize that returning would be

a mistake.

These books are VERY important in keeping a person out of the Borg.

The Governing Body has NEVER claimed to be inspired

there was a recent thread here which covered the subject of the gb claiming to be spirit directed (and not actually inspired by the holy spirit).

by now, most of us are quite aware that this is just a play with words to excuse themselves whenever one of their false doctrines is debunked (by someone using the bible or their own publications).

but when you think of it, spirit-directed is actually more presumptuous than spirit-inspired.. that being said, id really like to draw attention to the fact that the wt continuously claims that the governing body of jehovahs witnesses has never claimed to be inspired by god (through his holy spirit).

You know, the GB is reading this and smiling while saying "Keep it up boys, anything to prevent you guys from putting the heat on us, is good for business, plus it makes our claim of you guys being mentally deranged"

Think about this guys, what if a newly intersted person was doubting and decided to come here for a looksee, would this help them break away from the WTBTS or send them deeper into the cult seeing what is being argued about here?

MAYBE the REAL Holy Spirit IS appointing the Elders and MS cause the HS wants to see the WTBTS fall and this is the best way.

Nahhh, I forgot I do not believe in the Holy Spirit, so that don't work either.

Are We the Only Life in this vast Galaxy?

well i say the same condition for life evolving are relatively repeated over and over again in perhpas billions of solar systems with different combinations of chemical reactions producing all kind of self replicating molecules not just carbon based or dna based.

many stars having a much earlier formation and intelligent life much more before our earth was formed billions of years ago.. .

Playing Devils advocate here, why would billions and bilions of them never be visable to us?

Where is the evidence to show that we are not designed to be smart enough to create a telescope that would in turn enable us to see stars that we could not see with our naked eye?

I do not believe in a creator, and as I said "I'm playing Devils advocate here and think that is a valid question a creationist would throw your way regarding that thought you made above.
