When I took a job and got an apartment in another town he kinda figured it out. It wasn't pleasant but it had to be done. I had a lot of support from family ((Karla)) and ((friends)) *you know who you are. I never looked back and I have no regrets in leaving..it was just time..*past time. I couldn't see me living the rest of my life to make others happy and wake up each day knowing that in my heart I didn't belong there. Things are good in my life and I have an inner peace I have never felt before. I guess I was dying a little each day when I was there and it's wonderful to feel life creeping back in again.

Hugs to everyone for your concern. You all are very wonderful people. The support here on the board has always been so helpful and appreciated.
Mulan...
I agree with that about the Chemo treatments. It depends on the type of cancer and the stages the person has. I know in our mother's case that her type is one of the most aggressive, painful and hard to treat types..Chemo usually doesn't help much. She is already in stage 3.
The DR's find pancreas cancer hard to study because people that have it don't last long. If surgery were a possibility then it would have been better but it has already spread to some main arteries around the pancreas so surgery can't be done.
She is going to try the Chemo anyway but decided that she wanted to go home for a week first because the CO will be in town..*rolls eyes.
She was diagnosed 3 weeks ago but one biopsy came back negative because it was of fluid and not tissue so now we will be one month into this before she even starts any kind of treatment.
She should do with the remainder of her time enjoying what she wants to do and if going out in service and seeing the CO is what makes her happy then I wont argue that. She is well loved in her congregation and will have a lot of support while she is there.Karla...
What you wrote was so touching...I can't believe you were inspired to write it by what I said..you are a much more eloquent writer and thinker then I am..you got all of that from me saying that "life was so f***ing unfair"..I'll let you be the speaker in the family..*Love ya

Help! Neighbor starting a study
by Trotafox ini am so furious.
the very zealous elderly pioneer sister who lives across the street (alberta) has been canvassing the neighborhood for studies.
i watch her walk up and down the street and being very friendly and helpful with her neighbors (all the while preaching to them i'm sure).

{{Trot}} Just as your neighbor wont be able to absorb all the WT stuff overnight..she will also not be able to absorb all that is wrong with it. I would take it slow. A seed here and there and hopefully she will figure out the rest. You do have the holidays on your side. I'm sure that the woman's granddaughter will be excited about Christmas coming up and it will make them wonder why as suppose to be Christians the JW's don't celebrate it. Many times people study out of loneliness and never become JW's so don't panic.

How Have U Changed since Leaving?
by patio34 ini've been thinking about changes in my world view lately and wonder if others have had a similarly subtle, yet profound, outlook on life.
not being a jw nor even a believer anymore has made a subtle change that ive observed.
to begin with, i read somewhere that people tend to bring their own standards to their religion.

Patio.. Great post.. I have changed in that I am finally learning to love me for me and that anyone that wants to be a part of my life has to do the same. I have learned that life is to be lived and enjoyed now in the present. I will not wait on others to make me happy I am responsible for that. Life is what you make of it and if you are miserable in it then only you can change the outcome. If you rely on others then you will always be let down. People don't change so there is no point in wasting your life in waiting for them to. I find myself surrounded by friends and family that love me and I for once in my life look forward to waking up to whatever life brings me. Do I always get the things that I want? No, that's OK because with each day I am given something else and good or bad....I deal with it and wait for whatever it brings. Even if something appears bad at the time it can lead to something good so don't always look at the negative. I believe that people and things happen in your life for a reason. All bring us lessons and make us grow. ~Noi~

<gasp>..There is life out there...no not outerspace..there could be but that is another thread. As many of you know I have recently moved and have a new job. There have been so many changes in my life lately that I had forgot to have some fun. Tonight I finally without guilt went out with some friends "WORLDLY" from work and we had a blast!!!! It was really great to be me and not have to look over my shoulder. OK, so it's almost 4am and I have to work tomorrow. I just wanted to say that there is life out there and it is wonderful! ...*yawns
