I dunno. My previous line of employment had me spending sometimes months away from my family. Makes the heart grow fonder, eh I guess to a certain point. But it really is not all it is cracked up to be at all.

Lovers who need a Holiday
by YoursChelbie ini think there's a song somewhere that mentions that sometimes lovers need a holiday, time away from each other.. does it help two people to see things more clearly when they spend some time away?
has it helped you ?.
after the dust settles, you either move on and forget all about them or you gain a different perspective on the whole relationship.

by The Doc 58 ini would like to give the full details of my leaving the jw's, but i don't have a lot of time at this moment.
basically i was raised in the organization and it drove me pretty insane bacause my father was an elder, mother a pioneer, sister a bethelite, etc.
so, i did the whole thing for a long time.

funny kid stories
by JeffT inour office manager and i are always swapping funny kids stories - about her boys, a 5 year old and one born in september, and my granddaughter.
so a few days ago the 5 year old walked up to her and asked in a very calm voice "mommy is motherf***er a bad word?".
when relating this one my daughter, who teaches preschool said that one of her four year olds, while heading for the car to go home suddenly said (also very calmly) "oh goddamn it i left my book in class.

My 3 year old daughter was sitting at the table eating an orange. I was washing dishes and next thing I hear is 'OH SHIT!' I turn around and she said 'Oh shit. I just squirted juice all over my damn shirt.'- needless to say daddy needs to clean his mouth up.

Va.Beach/Hampton Roads area is a good place. Phenomenal growth and pretty temperate. Right on the coast and still comparatively cheap. I have tons of job offers from that area so i guess the job market is ok. I would not mind moving back there but alas, it is not in my families best interest and in line with our long term goals. P.S. This winter is starting to wear on me also.

OMG - I did it - I told my Mom and Dad how I feel...
by Princess Daisy Boo inmy mom and dad came round today and we ended up at the local mall with my hubby and kids having lunch.
after lunch my hubby went home with the kids and i stayed on with my folks to do some shopping.
as we were driving home, i pointed out my son's new school, and we were discussing the merits of private vs. public schools etc, and mom says "i just hope that by the time the kids get to highschool that the end has come, and you and the family are in the truth".. i mumbled something about having my doubts.

Good for you. I have got balls to do some crazy things, but even I can't tell my parents yet. I hope one day I can follow your lead and just do it. BTW "She said to me "Hilary, you are talking like an apostate!"- That made my chuckle.

The Borg's Current Take On The King of the North
by Rapunzel inreading aleman's intelligent and erudite posts in regard to prophecies and other things biblical got me to thinking and prompted me to ask the following question - just what is the watchtower bible and tract society's current [as of this month, february 2008] interpretation on the identity of the wicked witch king of the north?
when i was in - many moons ago in the late 1970's - the king of the north was depicted, if my memory serves me correctly, as the soviet union.
but as the expression goes, s*** happens.

Irregardless of what the WTBS thinks, Russia is by not a damn shot done yet. IMO from what I read and KNOW, The Russian Federation is still a force. There is a reason that the Americans are still pussy footing around and regarding the Russians. There is also a reason that the Russians protested so hard about Kosovo declaring independence. The world will see that the the ol 'USSR" is not done. On that same note, you should see the latest figures of how many Germans want that damn wall back up. Things have been nothing short of unstable since the 'democratic' revolution has taken the world by storm. I believe that the pendulum is about to swing backwards by about 20 years. I hope I am wrong, but just based on history, I believe we are all in for a shock session.

The Message in Music??
by WTWizard ini have seen and heard many times where witlesses are supposed to pay attention to the lyrics in the kingdumb maladies.
they are supposed to sing them out, and enjoy the "music(??
)" before the grand boasting session sessions.. now, i have seen one suggestion by an independent-thinking group.

How many calories do you eat a day?
by JH ini was surprised to see that there are 330 calories in 2 handfulls of peanuts, and 440 calories in a big daddy cookie that i eat every day.. i'm not overweight, far from it, but i weigh 15 lbs more than i did 10 years ago.
back then i was a little too slim.
i would like to lose just 5 lbs in the stomach area especially, not more, so that should be easy, right.. .

Sounds very familiar to the way a company I used to worked for try to retain employees that were leaving by the bus full it seemed. It is utter desperation in both cases.
