dave, has jehovah's witnesses society proved itself by what it teaches, to love man and god and wife and child and to act for the betterment of all?
which one of these ways mentioned does the society use?

i have been working on my letter to our local congregation to dis-associate myself.. since my wife is still very active in the non-truth and she also insist that i write this letter, i believe i will take her congregation address and telephone list and send my letter with all the facts about the wbts history of lies and send everyone in the congregation my letter via certified mail.
.
it would probally set me back a few hundred bucks but i think it would be well worth it, what do you think??
I myself sent in a D'ad letter. I personally beleive that God placed it in my heart to do so, that way, I was in a now cut-n-dry sitution. My family could no longer persuade me into making a bad decision to go back. Each individual is different.
I sent the letter to my sister's home to give to the elders. I knew that curiosity would get the best of her. She had to call my dad and read it to him.
Unless you are of "rank" in the Org, you should not expect to have the elders read and ponder over the letter too long.
Do what is in YOUR heart. Don't do it because your wife is wanting you to. She might want you to do it because she is afraid that there is a chance, albeit small chance, that you might go back.
It's up to you. Pray about it. God will give you the answer.

i have always felt that requiring sisters to wear headcoverings was assinine.
jehovah won't strike you down for not wearing a headcovering".
word gets back to the co on his next visit that i don't let sisters wear headcoverings at the bookstudy when they read and he reams me out for it.

Nicely written. Unfortunately, some religions fall into the practice of reading the Bible at face-value, and fail to remember the time period, who wrote the letter, and the reasons behind writing the letter.
Again, very nicely researched and written.

when i was a bethelite 1974-76 the evening meals were what we called free-seating (no asigned seating).. i sat at a table with (gb member)george gangas.
he would regularly have questions that he would ask the younger brothers (kind of a bible trivia).. but being that i was only baptized 2 or 3 years i didn't want to answer questions, but i had one i wanted to asked him.. what is this spiritual paradise that the society keeps talking about?.
when i asked him he choked on his soup, and said he didn't know.. i felt bad that he didn't know.. about 2 days latter i sit at his table and basically the same brothers are their.
D--
I gotta luv ya. I think the reason why they stopped the free-seating policy was because of Bethelites like you!

caring for the needy not!
when i first became a jw in the late 1960s and all the years thereafter, the watch tower society would frequently boast about the loving care and concern that jws show among themselves, providing for the needy during disasters, even helping the world.
the society would publish in the magazines, or comments at conventions about how the world observed our efficiency and overwhelming spirit of giving.. what about the rest of the year?

You read it in the latest Awake 22,2001. It was about Kobe, Japan. And lets not overdo the charitable love. It was ONE van, and it doesn't mention anything about repeat visits to the hospital.
The title of the little highlight is "To the Rescue in Kobe!". Yeah, they rescued theirs first and gave the dogs the little crumbs that fell off the table.
This article makes me sick. It first promotes or should I say, gives advertising space to the UN for recruiting volunteers. And in the next few articles it gives examples of JW's who give for a hidden agenda -- to recruit people to the "organization". For example, in the same article it talks about the brothers in Kabezi. They built a kingdom hall. The "local administrator made an unusual request. He asked if the Witnesses could fix the road passing BY the proposed construction site." Well ofcourse they "happily" agreed to repair the damaged roadway. Well, it's not unusal that they would need to fix a road that takes them to the Kingdom Hall. They have to make sure that it is not going to cause a hinderance in travel to the KH. So is this REALLY charitable work? Or was it necessary work to make sure the KH was more accessible?
Hidden Agenda...Hidden Agenda.

the first question is:.
i ask you would paul even think of doing such as thing as the wt has done here?????
i asked them not to keep double-talking me but to just come out and say what the charges are.
D--
I admire your attitude. LOL
So I went to the meeting sat in the front row af the hall and no annoucement.
Unless it's different in the Hall you attended, all APOSTATES AND INGRATES would sit in the back of the hall. I love the fact that you showed that they didn't even have control of where you sat!

i had a conversation last night with an old friend (not a jw) and brought up the subject of my file.. we discussed how to obtain the file.
needless to say, over a few beers it got very interesting with drawings and maps.. when he left i phoned another old friend in the town in question and told him briefly about the discussion.. he said to hold off on any "operation" because he knew someone i could talk to.
since he was on a cell phone, he didn't want to talk much.
Bendrr--
Take it from me. It's not worth it. Ok, so you get the files illegally. What would they read? Probably your time cards would be in it. Because with instructions from the Society, the elders can't write down jack-crap because it opens them up to litagation.
Yeah, it may see like a 'cool' idea now, but would you have the money to fight a criminal and civil case. They already have high-priced lawyers on retainer. And God knows how a public defender would fit into that picture. And I can tell that your plan has already failed for the below mentioned reasons:
1. When committing a crime, do it alone. You can NEVER trust the mouth of your friends.
2. You've posted it on the internet. Don't think that people like the Fred Hall's would grab copies of this post, and the WBTS would research it with the KH's.
3. Something that funny, couldn't be kept silent. I.E., see #1 and #2. Never plan a crime over a couple of beers.
4. Fingerprints can be retrieved off paper, bricks, the interior of latex gloves, ect.
5. Cops especially HATE people who screw with churches, they are considered the lowest of the low. They will do whatever it takes to find the person who did it. You'd have to maintain your silence for at least 7 years.
Trust me, they are not worth the time.

it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
thanks.
First, I was raised into it, along with my other 5 siblings. Only one sibling is still a JW, along with my wacko parents.
As for growth, I think it was Larc who said this:
The average growth rate of the Witnesses over the last 30 years is about 6%. The world population growth rate is between 1-2%. It is only in the last three years that the Witnesses have shown zero growth or decline in 22 of the developed nations. They are still growing in the underdeveloped nations. The overall global Witness growth rate is about 1/2 of 1% above the population growth rate.
I think that the "growth" also includes those that have left, and then for lack of a life, had returned. And remember, they are not having the same amount of growth as the Mormons. I think that Time magazine said they were growing at 11%. (I think it's more, but can't remember off hand)

i find it interesting the new found love the wt appears to have for the un.
in the two latest articles, july 22, awake and august 1, wt, they make reference to the good policies of the un and it's universal declaration of human rights.
as my memory serves, the harlot represents babylon the great (aka, false religion, aka, all religion except jw's) that commits fornication with the wild beast (aka, un representing all kingdoms of the earth) does this bring on a "new light" adjustment in wt doctrine?
AGuest--
Wow-- another change! I am so excited to learn that the UN has taken as step down from "the image of the wild beast" to the "disgusting thing". (Revelation! p.195 pp.31/ 1988 edition) Yikes. They may have to now do another reprint of the Revelation book.
I wonder-- has anyone written a comparision of the prophesies outlined in their latest Daniel book and the older version of the Revelation! book? I would really love to see how they contradict themselves within a 14 year time period.
The PROPHETS HAVE SPOKEN!!

i'm here to confess.
i've been lurking for some time now.
i have allot of mixed feelings mostly feelings of loss.
I don't know where my life will lead I guess that is where faith comes in. Faith in Jehovah and not man.
You are so on the right path. I can really empathize with you. I left because I just couldn't go on being a hypocrit anymore. I couldn't live with that. The thing is, is that I left without the "help" of any apostates. I KNEW in my heart that something was lacking in my relationship with Jehovah. For me, I realized it was the relationship with Christ that I was missing.
Jehovah will definitely direct your life. He has shown you already, which is the biggest step, that you have the relationship with HIM, not some manmade organization.
God bless you. He is there for you.
