That is exactly why I d'ad myself. I didn't believe in it anymore and didn't feel like living a hypocritical life. I wanted to be true to myself also.

I'm angry and scared

i've been out of the witnesses for a year...and in that span i've become more of a skeptic towards any sort of religion or god.

i don't know if i will ever again have faith in a supernatural, all loving and powerful being.

i suppose this is because the only god i really know anymore is jehovah of the watchtower- who to me is nothing more than a jealous, angry and vindictive creature.

Hey - I really empathize with ya!
The fears you experience are natural when someone is ripped out of a cult or disassociates themselves from one. You have to almost learn a new way of life. Yes! God gives you a conscience and allows you to have free will. You have to learn to trust in yourself and your decisions. The Jehovah of the Watchtower is not the God I love now. (I beleive in orthodox chrisitianity.) You will also have to learn that NO ONE can give you all the answers. If they can, then they are a cult, or liars. NO ONE can know all there is to know about God. Religion is not the way to God. Jesus said that He was the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. He never said that he would have a religion that would be the Way , the "TRUTH" or the Life. Your fear of death stems from their constant teachings of death without the Watchtower. Trust me, I KNOW!! I've been out for 7 years, (I was born and raised in the WBTS), and still struggle with this issue. The difference is from the beginning to now, I know why I feel this way, and know that GOD knows that I was religiously abused. I know that He understands and loves me regardless. Time really does help. And although you will never forget, you will have to learn to cope.
By the way, when I left, first I felt angry, then scared, and now, I feel pity. It's literally a greiving process you will go thru.

for me, the word was "loving".. great "loving" kindness.. great undeserved "loving" kindness!.

disfellowshipping is a "loving" provision.. when the wtbts want their accolytes to swallow another bitter pill, another restriction, another rebuke, another demand on time, the buzz word is "loving".. the "loving" word, is, to the average jw, the same as the mccabe nod is to the salesman.

the mccabe nod is used by salesman all the time to get the prospective customer to agree to something that he doesn't care for too much.

get this.. a knock at my door... i answer it, it's a sister who claims to be anointed.

i used to study with her but lost contact for awhile after i moved.

so anyway, she is standing in my doorway making idle conversation and manages to ask her way into my living room.

Have you ever got the oppurtunity to ask a JW about their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and what he has done for them in thier life?
You'll get the same ole' line of generalities.. i.e. the Watchtower is growing by leaps and bounds, looking forward to the New System..yada yada... Infact, I asked a person to claim that they were anointed what Jesus Christ has done for them in thier personal life, and they said it was personal and none of my business. The reason why they can't is because they DON'T have the Holy Spirit nor Jesus Christ in thier life.

GLOBAL HALT ON KINGDOM HALL CONSTRUCTION?

on another post a number of days ago it was rumoured that the society were going to announce or had already intimated that due to financial constraints there was to be an immediate stop to all kingdom hall construction worldwide.

if this is true this would be big news!!

can anyone on here, especially jw insiders shed any further light on this matter or offer some sort of evidence that this is/is not so.

denied babtism

i have a question that puzzles me and would like to receive some ideas.

i used to be a witness for two years before fading away, leaving quietly.

i was not disfellowshipped and i did not write a letter of dissasociation.. the way i got babtised was such that noone from my congragation saw it since the babtisees were taken by buses from the convention to a private swimming pool.

ELDERS JUST HERE, and now I'm

confused.

was in the middle of sending out some last minute "seasons greetings," cards.

any way, he spoke of the events of the last year, how they were significant, about the brothers going to the trade center and offering comfort from the scriptures, while priests and ministers only offered water and towels, and about the change in subscription arrangement.

I follow the same sentiments as most here...

yep.. the water was for washing their faces off from the mess of the debris and rehydration. They have been suffering from scratched corneas and irratation from the skin.. (remember there was absestos in those buildings, along with fiberglass, the uncounted toxins caused by the smoke.)

Towels were for them wiping the blood from their hands, trying to clean debris off of the dead; the sweat - from their hard labor; and the tears for the sorrow caused by cowards.

And all the witnesses did was talk.

Better to be DOERS of the Word.
