Does Debating Have to Be Abusive - To Be Effective ?
by flipper inmy wife and i were having an interesting discussion about some of the debates that take place on the board here .
now, granted most people , i feel upwards of 90 % on the board maybe higher try to be respectful in their debates or discussions on topics.
i think we all had enough bashing in the witness organization.

I have known many sisters to work in doctors offices. I have even seen NWT and the mags around. i started to throw one out but they had the window open. if you give info to the doc that is within their earshot of written down, they will report you. That is so illegal but done by jws all the time.
I'd never hire a jws or work for one.

Sexual Harassment
by reneeisorym ini've had something happen to me at work and i just need some opinions .... i work at a store where i am the only female employee.
we were short handed these past two weeks because someone quit and the new guy doesn't start until monday so they got a guy from another store to come fill in.
i hardly know this guy except for him talking to me about business related things.

I guess as most have said i might have gotten clarification on the word "ride' but you were there and if it felt suggestive-it was. He sounds like he was hoping to see if you have a good relationship ( with new hubby) and if you did not maybe he had a chance. That would be my most positive interpretation. He needs to clean up his speech. that kind of talk is not appropriate. We all have people we are close to that we allow more freedom of speech. he is a total stranger. That is just creepy. In some cases he could have gotten his face slapped. And sounds like he would have deserved it.

The elders never warn women when a rapists is in the congregation- even if they know he has raped more than one person and admitted it. Amazing isn't it? that person would normally be serving time in jail but under God's loving org, he can walk among decent people and live to rape again. Wife beaters - same thing. women is seldom believed if an elder is involved. Not that men do not get hurt. they do. for \them it is maybe even worse b/c they feel they have to "suck it up" and act like a man. Poor women

It must be kept secret, because the pedophile has a right to privacy according to the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. The GB believes this total bullshit because of their interpretation of the bible.
that's true, they do see it that way. wonder why they won't give the apostate or adulterer that privilege? some sins that just grant secrecy too.

I agree, and that is why debating can be fun. If you can get past yourself and just debate the issue, it is fun. It's sort of like the little * that allows you to use a curse word you probably would not use.

sorry , Danny Hazard is not a lunatic or radical. he has had a very traumatic life and the jws deserve what they get. they should not dish it out if they can't take it. I would not have done a few things he did, but I was not there and I believe him. I also like him very much. He's a very kind and decent person.
I wish i could recall which HilaryS post it was in but he makes some excellent points about stages we go through as we leaving a very controlling environment If it could be found-- it is worth reading..I know for one- to borrow from Hillary Clinton- i found my voice politically.

as many of you know, i'm still inside the borg, but my mind is completely disconnected.
i had a chat with some friends during the week, and they started sharing experiences they had, dealing with demons in the past.. i heard some stories from brothers from cuba, that used to be mediums or "saints", and how the demons "immediately started to attack them when they started learning the truth(tm)".
