  The Global Flood

  i've just read an intersting article on the flood to do with dates and whether is was truly global or a regional flood.. http://www.commentarypress.com/essay-flood.html.

  my father used to be an elder for many years and the flood was one of the things that made him walk away not just from the jw but also belief in the bible.

  he was hung up on issues like the flood taking place about 3500 bc and how that fit in with the pyramids.. i don't know much about egyptian history or the ages of the big pyramids, but his reasoning was if the flood wiped out every human on earth except noah etc then at 3500 bc there were only 8 people on earth.

  I am convinced that God now provides such people with such "proof." I believe that the evidence that will here be presented will be enoughto convince many sincere seekers of truth that the story of Jesus Christ contained in the Bible may indeed be true.

  How many men did the inspired writting?, 40?

  Numbers may be interesting, people back then were not stupid (they built Pyramids thousand of years ago), most likey knew a lot about numbers, possibly also knew something about the "4", (or an equivalent to such arabic, It would be interesting to know what symbol chinese used).

  Did anyone did any testing with 3, 7, 70, 10, 6, 30, 666, 12

  BUT just by curiosity how far is all this from Astrology-umerology

  astrology, numerlogy and the horoscope?

  Following the analysis presented by M. G. Satterlee, how does it support any particular doctrine? how will it explain meaning of life?, how will explain life after death? or prove peter walked over water?

  I take "faith" is not his/your main "support". Most diehard logical people find "faith" somethig used by some as an easy way out.

  This may be on a tangent, but accepting the bible, "stars" and jesus numeric relationship as presented,

  will it answer the multiple questions presented in this board? (question floating around for centuries).

  in the final analysis humans need realistic, "down to earth", logical and practical reasons to happily accept any concept or doctrine, unless brainded/washed.

  The universe, designed to support life?

  i have heard many creationists say: "just look at the universe!

  there are so many things about it that have to be just right for it to be able to support life.

  Not only that but both "iontelligent creation" did not pass very simple validation test, rather such "creation" have developed a big mess, the manufacturer of "intelligent" creatures need first to concentrate in quality control.

  Bottom line is, life has developed to suit the environment that it finds itself in. This has happened all over the planet where we find creatures shaped by their environment.

  Seem like humans have not been "shaped" by "enviroment" yet. It is hard for humans, in most places impossible, to survive anywhere in this globe without some man made help, such as heavy clothing, heat and shelter.

  Is/was Eden within the equatorial zone between Tropic of Capricorn and Tropic of Capricorn, i doubt it. Oh no, back to the flood theory.

  the jw were very open about cristmas, going against the "system" require some strenght and that in itself attracted many to the jw org.

  What a concept! And the source knowledge was obtained from my formative years as a JW.

  Many dont want to to credit the wt for their success.

  The negative side to this is that I was pulled from HS after my sophomore year because I had enough education to become a pioneer or wife.

  I recognize there are negative aspects, but that is not my topic, my topic is not even about the balance.

  If any of you want to expand in such direction you can start your own topic, as most topic in this forum, as many have done before.

  Credit where credit is due, nothing more.

  It is like "pay to Cesar" and dont complaint, just start your own legal case in court if you have any issues.

  it really jumped out at me so i thought i would share it ... it never made sense to me before it was always very confusing.

  if it confuses you wait for the explination because i feel it may let you see what i saw in it.

  i always wanted to re-read the bible after i left the org; to be able to read it without having to feel like i had to apply something, or to have to read it out of obedience, etc.... well, i have always liked the new world translation, i know it isn't perfect, but i think it is better than some.

  but i have always wanted to get a different modern english translation, and read that.

  well, i finally picked up a new international version at wal-mart the other day...under $6, what a bargain.. started last night, and finished genesis today, and am just starting into exodous.

  Most antagonic jerks in this forum most likely did not ever read the whole bible, and never did after leaviing. BUT now some are dogmatic and want to be heard... It is like calling more or less "the pot calling the kettle blackt" ..

  i remember when i first googled "jehovah's witnesses".

  i was sick to my stomach because i feared that i was disobeying jehovah.

  although i was scared that i would find something "apostate" or "demonic", i still continued to click on different links.
