Thanks for clearing all that up for me.
Whew !!!!!!!
it's true, she really did have someone call to take a bible study with her.. it had been set up by my parents who had convinced her that it was her duty to look into the religion that their wayward son (moi!
) had rejected.. she studied for 3 or 4 weeks, she eventually became frustrated with the methods that were used, she said that she didn't mind them supplying some answers, but she was blowed if she was going to allow them to supply the questions as well!.
it all ended unhappily, as she was voicing her opinion to the lady "study conductor", her little boy (a horrible spoiled brat) emptied out the contents of hl's handbag onto the floor, revealing a half pack of benson & hedges king size.. the woman was appalled at this, and was stupid enough to tell hl that she would have to give it up if she was going to get into the kingdom.

The woman had also just told me that she wasn't going to speak to me - this was in my own house!!!
You're a lot nicer about that than I ever could've been. If anyone ever tried that in my house they would've been very rudely kicked to the curb.
see it there, http://www.morons.org/articles/2/1621
Keep his past confidential alright....Yeah-Right !!!!!
Let us not think for one minute that this person's past will not be revealed to the members of the elder's family and the other congregation elite. I'm sure he'll work doubly hard to ensure that his little Becky-Sue not be touched or even sit next to the pedophile with a past.
i wanted to share a few points from an email that i recently sent to a very sincere person.
i think this has value for the dub neophytes in the crowd who lurk here.. to those newbies who, despite having found out plenty about the watchtower, still continue your study and attendance at meetings, i leave you these thoughts.. i understand your thinking, more than you know.
when you take a look at the various churches around, there's not much to offer.
Any ex-JW will tell you that there is absolutely no way you can know what you are getting into based on a 6 month study and attendance at a few meetings. I sure didn't. That is why the apostate label is so unfair. I was so eager to get baptized, but there were so many things that I wasn't aware of or didn't understand completely.
And that's the trap right there. That's especially so when they "love bomb" you at the KH. It's all so overwhelming at first especially if you're one who craves or needs attention. It's only after you've been in that the realization comes that you've lost so much of yourself and turn your back on so many chances by trying to comform.
my husband and i are visiting really good jw friends this weekend.. a little less than a year ago we moved to another state and have since become inactive and have decided that by end of this year we will probably be completely out, no matter the consequences.. we are not afraid of dfing, but i am just not sure how to broach or not broach the subject of our transformation with these friends.
i really like them, when we had trouble a few years back with elders and were "marked" they were the only ones who stood by us.. i think they are going to be really shocked.
i mean, we plan to go to an amusement park on saturday, but the husband may meet us there after he goes out in service (just makes you want to shake your head).
That's not surprising since questioning the borg in any way constitutes speaking against them and causing divisions. Show your submission by shutting your mouth, shutting down common sense and doing what you are told as directed by the GB and FDS.
I was once in a conversation about the "generation" change. I was shocked to the realization that most of the R\F had no idea that a change had occured. They were still locked into the old interpretation as it were and wanted to argue tooth and nail about it.
if there are people leaving in the multitudes...do the wtbts still need so many funds..... i mean printing would go down...kingdom hall costs etc....do they need as much money?
.
so do you think they will eva make an announcement asking that donations be kept to a minimum....seeing as they have said in the past that jehovah provides them with enough to keep the ministry going and nothing more so it cannot be used and abused in other ways...... or.....
Are you kidding?
When has the borg ever encouraged the r\f to cut back on anything WT related. It has alway as long as I can remember been study more, do more, more service, increase this that or the other. They'll certainly not ask that less donations be made, rather they'll start putting the squeeze on people even more to support that bloated bureaucracy of "spiritually mature men" in NY.
i found this on .

since it is monday, anyone care to add their goals to the list?
It's no wonder Jdubs are so wacked out. If you picked out just a few of those goals to meet you wouldn't have time for anything else.
anyone check out the new may issue of people magazine?
the lady on page 106 is reading the bible story book.
former enron employee.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of "dem damn dubs" had gotten a hold of a list of all those laid off Enron employees. Since they usually prey on people when they're at their lowest point, this should be a gold mine for that industrious publisher or pioneer sho wants to increase their hours and bible....eerrrr.....ummmm...... I mean Watchtower Publication studies.
what exactly is this 'new' rule?.
when was it implemented and what are its implications?.
jerome.
I've heard that elderly or infirmed publishers can count time in 15 minute increments. I think this was designed for those with physical limitation who can't get out into service regularly. If I'm not mistaken, I think they've decreased the amount of time it takes to be a pioneer also.
My sense is that it's more a ploy to bring those dwindling publisher and pioneer numbers up.....
we had our second co talk yesterday, the topic of which was loyalty, thinly veiled as to one another, but dripping with threats toward those who might go against the society.. after the usual drivel about the society being god's organisation, and appreciating their junk food (as an aside, has anyone actually vomitted up any of this "food"??
just wondering...), i was rudely dragged out of my slumber by the co's harsh declaration that we should shun all those who slipped away from the thruth, as they inactivity is a bad influence.
he went on to heap the blame on them, "if they feel this way, then they should expect their due", "they bring shunning onto themselves" etc.... has it always been this way?
even though the Society has relaxed its views on schooling, a few comments were made, by the speaker, that school was a waste of time
Things haven't changed much then have they. I had a bunch of elders in my home implying the same thing when I decided to go back to school.
I would've thrown them out my house and off my property if I knew then about the WT what I know now.
