  They, of course, tell me that this has been my decision (I dont think theyve ever taken responsibility for themselves in anything) that I have forced their hand.

  Where's the logic in that. It's was your decision that they decided that they don't want to have anymore association.

  Guess it was your decision that the WT false prophesied over and over again.

  Guess it was your decision that there was a mass exodus of people over their 1975 prediction.

  Guess it was your decision that people have died needlessly over their stand on blood.

  Guess it was your decision that they accept with loving arms and allow paedophiles to go door to door while silencing the victims to protect their image.

  Guess it was your decision that they sought association with the UN and maintained it for 10 years.

  The WT is very adept at projecting responsibility for their failures on the rank and file members who willingly accept blame. It appears that mom and dad have learned well this technique from their gods in Brooklyn.

  spiritual conversation with an elder yesterday

  i am writing this more for myself than anything..it just hurt so deeply... my hubby has been an elder for 20+ years..my status is baptized,,no.

  meetings, association ect for over one year now... we were watching the news,,and pres.

  bush was talking about the u.n.. with genuine concern and in all honesty i stated that i did not know how.

  I'm acutely aware of a couple in a situation much like the one you fine yourself in. This particular "elder's wife" kept the secret of her very popular husband's abusive home nature for years. Finally,a situation developed where she bypassed the congregation elders and wrote a letter directly to the WT. Only then, did the WT come down and supposedly clean up that congregation. If I remember right all the elders except one was removed. And the WT uncovered years of deceit by that elder body.

  This lady finds herself in very much the same situation you find yourself in; never having developed any skills to support herself, totally supported by her husband who refused to let her work and kept her at home by keeping her pregnant.

  I suggest you point out to your husband the hipocrisy of the double life he's leading. Playing the "fine shepherd" at the kingdom hall and totally disrespecting you, his wife, by speaking of you negatively as being violently mentally ill to curry brownie points and gain sympathy as the still believing mate. Point out how he's circumventing the very rules he supposed to believe so strongly in by not "presiding over his house in a fine matter" to hold on to his authority and position of leadership instead of paying more attention to his household. Point out to him the hipocrisy he's demonstrating to you by employing this double standard to his benefit. Then link it to the double standard of the WT association with the UN. Ask him would it be OK if a "up and coming being groomed for servant brother" rationalized that he could join the boy scouts to learn how to pitch a tent, or start a fire as long as he can rationalize that he didn't salute a flag or wear a patch. Ask him how long it would take for said brother to be marked as unfit for association.

  JW's have learned from their master the WTBS how to play hard and fast with their own rules to justify about anything that comes along.

  YOU ARE THE MAN !!!!!!!

  I was in a California mall with my wife and we came across a table that had a couple of 'hovahs" peddling their magazines and tracts. How I would've loved to lay into them like you did when we passed by, but to preserve the comfortable truce which me and my wife have developed, I held my tongue. She stopped to talk to them while I kept right on walking.

  She knows by now that I will not tolerate any guilt tripping or emotional blackmail with regards to me or our son going back to that nonsense. I refuse to have every decision in my life filtered through what the brothers may think.

  I recently introduced my now studying BIL to the WT involvement in the UN to which he immediately attributed as media hype and propaganda. He tried explaining it away as saying that even the Taliban was rumoured to be a part of the UN. Didn't have the heart to tell him that the WT involvement was no rumour and that proof was posted all over the net exposing their hypocrisy. It's only a matter of time before this subject comes up between us again, so , I'm arming myself with printouts of all the proof I can find.

  Speaking for myself, aside from several major issues, I have surprisingly little problem with much if not most of the JWs ``foundation'' doctrines, i.e. the soul, hellfire, the earthy's destiny, the Trinity, etc. It's their unwarranted sense of superiority, self-righeousness, heavy-handed authoritarinism (bullying, really), disparagment of individuality, utter contempt for and unwllingess to see the good in, anyone but themselves, to which I object.

  That's the best description of how I feel about the WT I've ever come across. Please allow me to use that in my next encounter with a witness.

  Will my JW wife and son get into trouble for this?

  some of you may remember my son's struggle with his beliefs about a year ago.

  benjamin was brought up as a jw and was heavily involved, used extensively on the platform as a good jw role model.

  however, about a year ago (when he was 13) he started to have doubts and went through a cycle of depression, even contemplating suicide.

  I would not allow the elders to meet with my child in private, until they are baptized.

  Even if my kid was baptised, I wouldn't allow a private meeting between him and those thugs if I could help it. When baptised, you're even more susceptical to the mental rape that they engage in.

  No one should willingly submit to this "divide and conquer" technique they use on kids to keep them enslaved.

  If the organization went in a contrary way of Jehovah's will, then I know he would not look upon them in favor.

  Then by that statement you can only come to one of either of two conclusions with regard to the WT association with the UN. That either it was Jehovah's will that the WT fornicates with the Wild Beast or that Jehovah no longer looks faviorably upon them. I tend to believe the latter since there's no expectation of the WT telling the rank and file that Jehovah has once again changed his mind on any matter thus producing even more "new light".

  Aren't you concerned about your so-called "spirituality" being here on this apostate board?

  When you first came into this thread you came in guns blazing spraying the place with your righteous indignation. But you already seem to be backtracking.

  Stick around here much longer and you'll get more unfiltered information about the WT than you know what to do with.

  we are currently sophmores and have a couple of classes together and i have grown attracted to her.

  When I was about your age I was chasing a girl who just happened to have a JW girlfriend who decided that she liked me. I never caught the girl I was chasing but I did develop a friendship with her JW friend. Well, her elder dad would have nothing to do with me until one day I accompanied them to a kingdum hall for a Sunday service at her request. After that I was like the son he never had, sometimes being allowed to stay over till wayyyy past midnight. Just like that, after attending a few meetings this father basically served his daughter up to me.

  I am in no way endorsing this as a way to get next to this girl, as a matter of fact, this may backfire on you. Most likely if you take this approach you'll be introduced to a couple of brothers who'll insist that to see this girl you'll have to be indoctrinated study with them. You'll soon find yourself making some very unpleasant decisions and wondering if this girl is worth this much trouble.

  I would suggest you look for another girl whose capable of reciprocating some of that affection you hold for this JW girl. Any relationship, however innocent, will be frowned upon by this girls JW social circle and will make life very unpleasant for you both. Don't be fooled into thinking that if you attend a few meetings that you may find some common ground to have any type of relationship with this girl.

  the only way I would have allowed my daughter to do anything with a boy from school, is if they

  1.were assigned to work on a school project together, and had to work on it after school

  2. if he wanted to learn about the religion

  3. if he wanted a bible study.....

  They are willing to use any means necessary to bring you into their cult...even to the point of using their own flesh and blood as bait.

  i was just thinking after reading some of the posts, and wanted to ask you something..... do any of you feel, and i mean right in the back of your minds, that jws might still have the true faith (truth).

  i've been inactive for a few years now and don't attend meetings at the kh, apart from the memorial, and occasional convention.

  please don't shout me down, its just that to me, even though i've been out for a while and my reasons for "drifting" away were very painful to me, i don't feel as the majority do here.

  I've come to the conclusion that their use of the term "the truth" is nothing more than a marketing ploy to encourage the R\F members to think that they have something special above everyone else. That explains their haughty attitude whenever anyone is around them.
