so you found out the jehovah's witness religion/cult was bogus.

congratulations, it's a step in the right direction.

now all you have to do is escape the cult of christianity.. while other christian groups are (perhaps arguably) less controlling (on the whole), the foundation christianity rests on is bogus too.

My mom and Armageddon

my mom called me this morning and in the course of the conversation i enquired about her boss' wifes health - she was recently diagnosed with cancer.

my mom told me and then launched into the whole, "oh how i wish armageddon would come" speech - "just imagine princess, how good it will be to see granny and grampa (neither of whom were witnesses btw) and how good it will be if people dont suffer "(refering to the woman with cancer - also not a witness btw) and so on - "oh how i wish you would come back" (somehow these other people will be there and i won't?

wtf?

Personal experiences...

have been reading so much on this site...it is not even funny anymore.

i am now into "the best of"...a gold mine of personal experiences!

while reading, a question often comes to mind.

While being a JW for many years, it did not kill my belief in God, Christ, etc. but only helped it! Also, the nice thing about 'personal experiences', they are things that really happened to people. Whereas we can argue doctrine all the time, coming to no conclusion, who can argue with me if I say I experienced this and that?

Does that make any sense? Ha.

Is it all just a 'Cosmic Crapshoot'?

first my faith in the wts went away.. later my faith in religion [for purposes other than fellowship] went away.

to date, my faith in the existence of the 'great cause' remains, but is tarnishing in some respects.

i have no clear picture of what we really are, where we are really going, and why we exist.

God usually talks to us in a very 'still small voice'. Tradition has it, that that when you awake at night (with me around 3 am nightly) just be still in the quietness and carefully listen. He is the great communicator, so ask him whatever you want during the day and see what happens.

I'm so tired

i don't know if it's this time of year and i'm in serious need of a break, but i wake up exhausted in the morning and fall into bed a night.

anyone else feeling like this?

i't 15h00 in the afternoon and i'm ready for bed.

Things could be worse! How about a Sunday morning meeting with field service in the afternoon. How about every Saturday morning ruined, not to mention Tuesday and Thursday night meetings.

You got it good now, so quit whining!
