I went to college the first possible moment after leaving the Borg. My first class? Logic. ;)
I have my Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and next May I will graduate with a BA in French with a K-12 Teacher's Certification.
I begin student teaching this fall. It's very exciting!
I am now 52.

as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).

Bless you Barbara! Once again, you have done untold good towards the children in Kingdom Halls everywhere. I am so proud to know you!
I hope in some way this will help your own personal situation and you and Joe will be reunited with your grandchild[ren?].
I must say that I am very tempted to take up my old ways and go PUBLISH this information door-to-door among my former 'Friends.' I'll see after I have a chance to
a/ digest the material, and
b/ see what you have already accomplished in the way of publicity
before my ordered CD arrives.
Thanks, Seeker4 for the thread and to Simon for giving him the place to post it.

I'm not well either
by KW13 inwhen you've tried living life with a handicap you never realised was there for a long time, and when you did you denied it the chance to get the better of you - you tend to get down and depressed.
it took a thread from our brave crumpet and help from some special friends here to make me go to the doctor and get some help.. you see, my symptoms were similar to crumpets if not nearly exactly the same.
i too suffer from bipolar disorder, the doctor agrees and i agree.

Good for you for seeking help.
It was nice of your GP to pray with you. It sounds like it was just the right kind of immediate 'medicine' for you, KW13.
I suffer from depression and am on meds for it. It took me years to realize that my symptoms were typical of clinical depression. Now I take my meds and feel much better. I realize depression isn't the same as bipolar disorder, but it still can be a real handicap in living life well.
I hope that you are able to find the right medication and the correct dosage to help you have a fantastic rest of your life!
Best wishes,

That's what I was thinking -- that they're probably replacing Holt.
I never worked on any quick builds, just visited one to show a worldly friend how it all got put together. My girlfriend used to go and work on roofing. She loved being up high on those roofs.
It's weird, I remember having a vivid dream about a quick build peopled by people from my KH in Michigan and other unknown brothers and sisters. Don't know what that was about... Guilt for not "doing more in Jehovah's service?" In the dream the sisters were arguing about the food arrangements. LOL

I'm in love and ... scared !!!
by RAF insorry need to share and to talk about it and maybe in giving me your opinion, talking about your experience, i'll find other ways to deal with it.. .
i just turned 40 (does this have something to do with it) never been scared about the matter ... but now i wonder what kind of love i've really experienced before (any kind of appeals like complicity for instance, the need to share something in particular with someone, the need to give someone some love?
) i dunno for real .... i'm trying to get this out of my head but i can't, i can't, i can't - i'm trying to get interested in other guys but it's just not the same ... and i even wonder how i came to the conclusion that i do love him !!!.

Oh, my! It's been a long time since I felt that scary, crazy feeling, RAF.
One thing I'd like to say is that I believe that if the relationship is going to be good, you don't need to lose yourself. Neither should he have to lose himself. If you want to do wonderfully nice things for him, do them. Don't do them to curry favor or to 'catch' him. Do them because he's a wonderful man, and you appreciate him. If he feels the same -- wanting to do wonderfully nice things for you, because you are wonderful, and he appreciates you -- then the two of you have something very special and something rare.
I hope it's true. It's a nice thing to wish for.

Tonight they are in Lausanne, where I attended school more years ago than I want to think about!

Ex can't babysit (hate to even call it that when it's his own kids we're talking about -- aren't we?) but does HE have friends or family in the area that he'd trust his children with?
Alternatively, as ohers have mentioned here, your county or state might have a daycare system in place. Definitely check into that.
Also, I know that the local community college here has daycare. It's mostly for children of students, but they do take on local kids for an inexpensive rate. So that might work for you. Look for a campus in your area that offers social work and/or early childhood education programs. Let your internet fingers do the walking. ;)
Good Luck, FreedomFrog!
