shunning still hurts for me, i admit it.

though i have no common ground with these people any longer, it is just the idea that i am treated as evil for nothing more than exiting the religion.

Early on in my ex-dub days, it amused me somewhat how I was shunned by a certain young married man. You see, as an elder I had previously had much to do with him. During his periods of fornicating, I chaired his JC. We took a very 'understanding' line (for which at the time he claimed he was very appreciative), - we saw that it was better to restore a man than punish him. I regularly met with him.

Anyway, here I was, no longer an elder, no longer a dub, part of the "evil" apostates and here he was, swanning around as if he was the most righteous of souls and he seemed to display a well-practiced shun.

It made me laugh to see the ludicrous side of the whole thing.

I often wonder what became of him. did he manage to follow the Witness way or did he......?

Sexless Marriages Could Threre Be a Direct Link by Being Raised JW?

i would like start by saying i having been married twice.

the first time i married a girl who was also raised a jw, sex was great when we first got married but after a couple of years it almost completely stopped.

the marriage did not last much longer i thought it was because we just grew apart and i became uninterested.

MY DAD MIGHT DIE DUE TO THE 'NO BLOOD' DOCTRINE

i don't have much time to post as i'm headed back to the hospital, but my father collapsed this morning and had to be rushed to the hospital.

in a nutshell: he needs a blood transfusion as his hemoglobin is dropping (bleeding internally), but thanks to this fucking cult, that's not an option...........he'll accept the fractions but those bastards from the blood liaison committee have already shown up to ensure he doesn't cave............... for those of you who still believe, i'm asking you to say a prayer for my dad........and if anyone from crooklyn is reading this: you better hope my father doesn't die due to your fucked up rules, .

G'day Mary,

It's easy to say, but I DO understand. You see, I lost my father in a similar situation just a year or two ago.

I remember him cheerily entering surgery and then being with him on life support before the decision was made to turn it off and let him go.

All of that was unnecessary - a 'simple' blood transfusion would have saved him.

Still, his request, like so many other dubs, was to refuse blood transfusions and so he died.

Am I angry? No. Surprisingly perhaps i have no feeling of anger at all - I can refer to his passing with an acknowledgment of his untimely passing being unnecessary but i can truthfully say that I have never been angry towards the WTS cult at all over his death.

You might find this strange, especially since you probably know that leaving the Borg and becoming christians cost us (Mrs Ozzie and I) everything. Still, I realise that Dad had led a very good life, he was elderly, and he went the way he chose to.

Isn't that what any of us would want?

So, Mary, I know for now you may be angry, or frustrated at the futility of his plight, but comfort yourself with knowing that he was doing what he had decided.

We all will go at some time, and we all make choices. He made his apparently.

Still we are sad, but isn't that part of our life experience?

My sympathies to you in all that you're going through. It shouldn't be necessary - bloody cult, undeed!

My nana passed away tonight.

i receieved an sms of my mum saying nan was slipping away i literally called as soon as i got the msg, and she had already passed away.

things were looking up for a bit, we were managing to get some water and food into her and she had accepted to have a tube put in her, they tried last night but it was unsuccessful.. when i saw her on saturday it was the most alert she was, sunday she had very laboured breathing and tonight when my mum go into the hosp, my nan was no responsive, it was like she just waited for my mum to come in and then she passed away.. im in shock, even tho i knew it was coming it was looking hopeful for a bit there.. thanks for your support.

I pointed out, its pretty darn hard to listen to the bible when your stomach is growling so loudly that's all you can hear. She looked at me kind of dumbfounded and refused to discuss it further.

Perhaps because she's never seen that except maybe on TV?

which again illustrates the smugness and arrogance that results from the self-centeredness of the Witness view of the world.

For some reason, I have a feeling these kinds of articles get them some sort of CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION status for tax purposes or government grants.

A group of Witness youths in the United States, ranging in age from 4 to 15, heard that their fellow believers in Africa needed Kingdom Halls. So they decided to take action. “We sold cookies and muffins at a yard sale, and we earned $106.54. We told people that the money may be used for meeting places in Africa where people could learn about the Bible. Many responded. It took us nine hours, but it was worth the effort—it was for Jehovah!”

Have you heard reports of fellow believers in need? For example, has there been a natural disaster? Try to imagine what it would be like to lose your home, your possessions, or even a loved one in death. The apostle Paul wrote that Christians should be “keeping an eye, not in personal interest upon just [their] own matters, but also in personal interest upon those of the others.” ( Philippians 2:4 ) Even if you live far away from where a natural disaster has occurred, perhaps you can make a donation that would help in the relief effort carried out by Jehovah’s Witnesses.*(to bre-build Kingdom Halls!!)
There are other ways you can assist those in need. For instance, if you are one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, why not look around your Kingdom Hall? Are there any elderly ones or others who could use a helping hand? Can you help them with chores? The apostle Paul wrote to the Romans: “In brotherly love have tender affection for one another. In showing honor to one another take the lead.” ( Romans 12:10 ) When you see there is a need, then, take the initiative. Be willing to perform even menial tasks. And remember that serving others is closely linked to serving God. The Bible says: “He that is showing favor to the lowly one is lending to Jehovah, and his treatment He will repay to him.”— Proverbs 19:17 .
Of course, the greatest way you can help others is by sharing what you know about God’s Word, the Bible,(what a cop-out!!) with them. Jesus said: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” ( John 17:3 ) Now more than ever, people need to hear the lifesaving message of truth from the Bible. So continue to have a regular and zealous share in the preaching work, confident that “your labor is not in vain.”— 1 Corinthians 15:58

Many young people today are getting involved in volunteer work. What motivates them?

See that? Yep, the teaser makes it seem as though they are encouraging doing volunteer work as we in the community might know it, but to a Witness, volunteer work means something quite different, a doing of good works within their own tightly knit community.

Is that really what Christ meant? People throughout the centuries have long since not understood it that way. Compare the story Jesus told of the "Good Samaritan". What was the point but that cross cultural aid was being described?

as i drove thru the countryside this morning at 0300 on my way back from work [i was supposed to report and found that i had been scheduled for another vacation day, so back home i went], i drove past the kingdom hall and began to meditate in the utter absurdity of what these poor souls believe about themselves.

they arrogantly are duped to accept that the devil, the ultimate evil in all the universe, has selected them as target.

i drove past tens of thousands of people in that short drive, yet this small cluster of people believes that they alone are worthy of his attack.
