Seargeant Bilko a WT President?

Say, what did happen to Billy Fury? He of the mean Marlon Brando look from what I recall. Didn't he do a movie with Helen Shapiro. Now I never looked like her, but she was WOW! Came touring in the magical land of Oz about 30 years ago. She hangs out now with Sir Cliff I believe. Got any tracks of Billy Fury?

Hi, deludednomore, welcome to this house with a good old "G'day".
It seems that this seige mentality permeates every meeting we go to. The opening section of most Public Talks are filled with how bad the world is, what my family call "the doom and gloom bit". It's used to draw us closer and more dependent to the org. If we weren't, we wouldn't go, presumably.
On the point of helping all in the world, James 1:27 counsels to care for widows and orphans in their tribulation. What are the elders advised to do about this? Make sure that the needy ones know how to get all the government benefits to which they are entitled. Pretty neat, eh?

Don't worry SEAKEN2001, most of the family are friendly. Big Ray's the loner who blows into town now and again. I think he had hormone trouble years ago, and he's never been the same since. Pay no heed. He's going soon.

But why don't the brothers and sisters see the plates crashing? Surely they must hear them! But with selective conditioning what their eyes and ears see and hear, their brains do not register. Truth in brainwashing.
How often we hear elders say "Jehovah sees and he will correct matters in His own due time." In the meantime they carry on just the same.

You've got it! The Memorial is pointless. The April Kingdom Ministry states (on page 1) that it is "A Special Occasion to Show Honour". We find the emblems so honourable that we spend 45 minutes culminating in passing the bread and wine amongst us and just look at it! What's the point?
Jesus said: "Keep doing this in remembrance of me." What was the "this" ? It was the sharing in a communion meal, not the passing of bread and wine which is rejected by all (or almost all).
Surprisingly the KM states that this is a "rich, spiritual atmosphere"! (Insert article para. 1)

Yes, don't faint, it must be true because the April Kingdom Ministry says so.
In fact, so strong is the forecasted encouragement, that it states on paragraph 25 of the insert article:
"One sister who had been irregular in field service for two years spent more than 50 hours in the ministry last April. What made the difference for her? She said that it was the upbuilding shepherding calls made by the elders."
The attention to the inactive is part of a campaign to increase numbers of publishers in April. There are 3 groups that will be targetted; children, Bible students, and the inactive. So intense will the campaign be that "everyone in the congregation (is encouraged) to do his part to reach the goal of 100-percent participation in the ministry that month." (Page 2)
So, if you a member of one of the targetted groups, what will you say when you receive a visit from the encouraging elders

Notice the expression "more fully". How does this gel with our scriptural hope of salvation? By coming to the Memorial and sharing in it we "keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives." (1 Cor 11:26). We also read: "after he had been made perfect he became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him."(Heb.5:9) So how is it possible to have more than salvation?
We recall too that to one of the evildoers impaled alongside Jesus, He said: "Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise."(Luke 23:43) No "more fully" for him! He got salvation, he needed nothing more!
