None, but that was not from lack of trying. When I told an old high school friend of mine I was not going to be a jw anymore, she said, but you tried to make me one. I had to tell her how sorry I was for that, and now I am smarter. She thought it was funny and laughed. I almost brought a few of my worlding friends in, I am so happy now that I was not successful. Do you consider posting here as "Therapy" for you?

is this place therapy for you, or just a place to mingle?

I don't know if it's therapy, maybe an obsession though. I just like to come and see what everyone is thinking, and sometimes I say something. It's just a good place to be. Pam

I am working on a degree in business. I have went back to college a couple of time in the last 5 years. This time I am going to finish. I am doing online college and it works so much better with going to work and being a single mom. I always wanted to go to college, but in the early 80's when I graduated high school it just wasn't allowed. I would start to go to classes, then I would feel guilty then I would quit. But now I am going to do it. I guess 44 is not too late.

My sons and I finish each other sentences all the time. Or I will be thinking of something asking myself a question in my head, and one of my boys will walk in the room and answer it. I never said a word. It drives my 14 year old crazy.I will just starting talking about something and it will be what he was thinking just a few minutes earlier. I have always known things even as a jw child. I never thought my mom paid attention because she has always been a 'good' jw. But my sister told me that my mom listened if I said I had a feeling. It was never anything we talked about it was just something that happened from time to time. so I think things like this are very real. Pam

Do you remember when you first Googled "Jehovah's Witnesses"?
by Funchback ini remember when i first googled "jehovah's witnesses".
i was sick to my stomach because i feared that i was disobeying jehovah.
although i was scared that i would find something "apostate" or "demonic", i still continued to click on different links.

I also started out with webtv, I couldn't afford a computer back then. My mom had just dumped a load of guilt on me, about how her grandsons were going to die. So that was why she just could not be close to them. And it hurt that she thought I was a bad mom, because of her stupid beliefs. I had webtv for a year before I started looking, but the guilt drove me to it. I didn't type in jehovah's witnesses, I typed in ex-jehovah's witnesses. then I found out about the generation change in 95 and not one had told me. This was 98. I was so angry, but I felt so free. Once I realized that they didn't have a clue, and they were just making up shit, I felt like a huge weight lifted off me. I was so happy, I am a good mom, and I was not killing my kids. One of the first sites I found was freeminds and the old H2O. Later I came here, and have been off and on ever since. I am so much happier than I was back then, and I love the internet.

I love the sims. All my best people are on my computer in Kansas. One of the first things I did when I got this computer is load sims on it. I have all the expansions except hot date ( which is my favorite), the disk for hot date had some kind of mistake on it. so I have to get a new one. Sims 2 is coming out on Sept 17. I can't wait. I have spent hours playing that game. And I have also had to delete everything on my computer before and start over. It is such a pain.
Sims rule!

Finished high school. and I have taken many college courses, mostly computer, information tech related. I haven't actually gotten a degree, I was just lucky to get to go to any classes, and raise my two boys. I am now paying for my few adventures into higher learning, once I pay down some of my student loans, I might go back again. I really, really liked it. But I never stop learning and finding about things I don't know.
I remember wanting so badly to go to college right out of high school, and being told how stupid I was not to want to pioneer. Instead of knocking on doors, I ran out and got knocked up, (messed up 19 year old that I was). Never did pioneer, or even try too.

My mom always said it was because "we thank God everyday, and don't need a speical day to do it." But she always ran out in November and bought up the turkeys that were on sale. And later she raised turkeys on their farm and my brother would dress them and sell them to people he worked with. And my mom was out there pulling turkey feathers out of dead birds to make extra money from their 'worldly holiday'. I have to admit they raised some monster birds that cooked up so fine. Mom always made sure they would save me at least one.
I always thought it was a way to be different, the "look at us, see we are not like you" thing going on.

What Your JW Relatives May Realize
by metatron inthere's a lot of hurting manifest on this board.
i've been there, with witness relatives and friends shunning me ( more or less).. as you encounter these people, it may be easiest to kindly remind them of the near future of jehovah's witnesses:.
in ten years, the average witness will be about the same as any other religion.. .

I agree, sometimes I think my mom might really care about me. Since I left Kansas last March and moved to Alaska, she calls me on the phone at least once a month. The last time we talked for over an hour. I guess moving away made her realize she missed me. But when we lived in the same area, I was lucky to get a hello from her. We no longer talk religion or anything like that, she has finally stopped trying to get me to come back, and just accepts me like I am. But it took moving thousands of miles away for her to do that.

My favs are vodka and cranberry juice and grapefruit juice (a sea breeze) or vodka and grapefruit juice (a greyhound). but I can't drink anymore because of the meds I have to take for the seizures. I never drank that much, but now I miss it. I just hate being told no. Pam
