The drug companies do their best to maintain their Chiefs in a sublime manner. We are old and w/o insurance. My meds alone cost over $500. per month (scary huh?) It's bleak.

coming from the uk it is astonishing to me that an affluent nation as is the us, cannot provide better protection for the health and welfare of its citizens.
i was especially astonished by the fact that insurance companies withdraw their coverage while a person is sick and in need of help.

TODAYS TALKS WAS BORING AS HELL..........
by Mary ini actually went to the meeting this morning (okay, sumeone talked me into going)...........god it was boring.......something about jesus and the kingdom and frigging deuteronomy and hebrews and jeremiah-was-a-bullfrog...........and then they talked about old faithful: mathew 28:19 20 "go therefore and piss everyone off selling btochtower and asleep magazines to all the inhabitents of the earth.
an' look: i am with you every frigging saturday morning till the government bans your sorry asses.
i escaped after the first meeting and met the stares of several good christians wanting to know why i was leaving half way through......i told the asshole elder who followed me outside: " i've got my period!!

Hey YAAAAAAWWWWWNN just talking about the public talks makes me yearn for the peace of serta. Honestly, while I do remember some (one or two) nice elders they were all mainly men for the borganization. My Mr.Panda and I were talking about this the other day. For him it was exactly the double standard for certain families and unloving attitudes which sent him away. For me it was the lies lies lies. My last 5 years as a dub I could NOT stand meetings...UGG so boring.

Pole"y" , Welcome to JWD. UMMMM dare I say that your search may leave you more frustrated than fulfilled. But it certainly is the journey which makes any destination worthwhile. The whole co-op thing won't work for Christianity (the rebellious Jewish religion). But I do have to agree with you about vegetables. While living in China I had wonderful fresh fruit and veggies. Some I'd never seen before. They were a feast for the eyes as well as the old tummy. I did enjoy going to market in the early AM before school, the walk, the people, the joy of the sellers who until a few years ago were not allowed to sell their own produce. I noticed that most vegetables were harvested young so the colors were amazing ... and the taste out of this world.
Back to your quest... have you read Plato's Republic ? When you talk about cooperative and everyone thriving I am reminded of the Republic. I hope you will continue to learn. Here's a poem I recently ran across on edward Babinski's web cite. The author is Maynard James Keenan and the title:

Is Monsanto actually a fully US owned company? I ask because many chemical and genetic alterations in produce come from other countries. This is so horrid! I hope everyone plans to contact their local AG-services and senators to get people aware of this situation. For Texans the senators are Hutchinson and Cornyn. AG extension services are listed in your phone books. Other AG states should have similar listings.
But I still wonder about this. I know that in the US I can get old variety of seeds to grow tomatoes and carrots and some other produce. Even older watermelon varieties directly from farmers who farm those and save the seeds. Of course this is a very small group and no one is claiming ownership of seed rights (god that sounds weird).

How long since you been out in service?
by freedom96 init must be about 13 years since i went out in service.
about 15 years since i went out a couple times a month, and about 18 years since i went at least once a week.. i just can't imagine going from door to door anymore.
but to think that we all did it for quite awhile.
