The Other Side of the Indian Rape Story
by fulltimestudent ini'm posting this story, not to defend an indefensible act, but to try to provide some balance.
the fact is that so many indians exist in a poverty so deep that it's difficult for westerners to even understand.
the youngest of the rapists in the now world known rape story, according to this uk, independent newspaper story, grew up in that world that seems hopeless.

for males who exist in that world, satisfaction of their personal sexual needs is as far off as their next meal
Why didn't they just use porn to satisfy their sexual needs? There is no absolutely no excuse for rape.

So much for that freedom we were all looking forward to, meetings for all eternity to kiss the celestial dictators ass, and talk about boring stuff like the vital importance of why you must attend all 14 days of the annual district convention...yea I so prefer hades.

Georgia mom shoots home intruder five times
by Bonnie_Clyde inhttp://www.theblaze.com/stories/my-wife-is-a-hero-georgia-mother-shoots-home-intruder-five-times-after-being-cornered/ .
i've been waiting for someone to post this story.
five bullets almost weren't enough to save herself and her two children.

Wow, assuming she has kids or others in her house that whacko potentially would have gunned her down and everyone else after he got what he came for. So she defended herself and potentially decreased U.S. gun fatalities by killing the one whacko, instead of allowing her and the members of her house to be gunned down. I'm good with one less whacko in the world, thanks for sharing.

Would a downtown NY public protest against shunning help or harm the Watchtower Corp?
by tootired2care inso i was having an interesting thought the other night -- albeit probably not original, but interesting.
what would be accomplished if thousands of us banded together and held a huge protest of the issue of shunning family right behind the governing body's headquarters (25 columbia heights) in brooklyn bridge park?
the shunning of non-believing family is a strong issue that i'm sure everyone of us could get behind 100%.

@Londo - I figured as much, when did the last big one happen and how many showed up roughly? If it was a convention size protest group, I can see why it didn't go anywhere. Growing up as dub I never heard of anything that made national or even regional news. I wonder if many dubs feel that since these things no longer happen to the scale they may have decades ago it's somehow evidence that Jehovah has smoothed the way and blessed them.

Certainly other things could be protested, but shunning is a big one that the public might be able to clearly grasp.
It's probably wishful thinking, but I think this might be a great tool to get the media's attention and create a major public embarrassment for the Watchtower and possibly force their hand to change their policies.
Has something big like this ever been done in close proximity to WT HQ?
Do you think this would help or hinder the WT corporation, would public embarrassment create resolve in its members or doubt?

Fukushima nuclear reactor cores have melted into the ground!
by moshe ina newly released scientific study (done some time ago) on a similar tva ge mk1 reactor has determined the uncovered reactor core would have melted through the steel reactor vessel and over 20ft of concrete containment floor in 15 hours-the 500+ degree air temperatures would have melted and blown out all the conduit and pipe seals going into the containment building allowing a free escape of radiation to the atmosphere.
they are still trying to keep the spent fuel pools covered in water and prevent the used fuel rods from catching on fire- that is a separate disaster.. .

China now has 26 new reactors under construction http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/inf17.html, General Electric will make some great profits from this no doubt.

It gets more interesting, who can forget Chernobyl, apparently the structure they built on top of it 20 years ago is close to breaching and they are in the process of building another super structure to contain the old container. The new container will last 100 years, this problem will be an ongoing issue for centuries as will Fukashima. Chernobyl and Fukashima are the only two category 7 incidents so far.

If that spent fuel pool at Fukashima breaches it will be far worse than Chernobyl. The price we pay for electricity is indeed quite high!

I think so. I left cold turkey 7 months ago, and I seem to be going through the anger and depression phase simultaneously right now. I think most of my anxiety stems from having to pretend around our parents. I'm fixing to tell them in a few weeks.
@goats - I'm glad to hear that you felt right after two years that gives me hope!
