Is it possible there will have to be "noo lite" soon regarding The Memorial?

my understanding is that all jws originally took the emblems.

then when numbers went over 144k "noo lite" showed not all were destined for heaven but the leftover surplus were now going to live on.

They might just get a "refinement" type blast of Noo Lite and calculate the thing so that they celebrate it on the right night.

Getting people to go and observe nothing happening on the wrong night is simply laughable.

As they have established that it does not matter how many partake, because the GB is the FDS in terms of power and teaching etc, they could always suddenly get Noo Lite that all should partake, they could still have earthly hopers and the elite heavenly class, even if all partook.

I do not see this happening, they are aware that great upheaval is caused by such changes, they will only do it if it is an earner in some way the $ speaks to them much more than the Bible does. It may attract more members if they did not have such a weird take on the communion meal.

WT Seeking Donations Of Gold: News To Me... When and Where?

i noted in a thread on kingdom hall remodelling that some mentioned that a call for donations of gold jewellery was made from the platform.

since this sounds like something that would have been presented by a part on the service meeting and therefore noted in the kingdom ministry schedule, can anyone recall the specifics of this?

if so, how recently?

The WT has probably come to the conclusion that Gold is a safer investment than the mighty $, they are probably swapping dollars at this instant for prescious metals. Safer than currency.

If the WT dumped 1914 tommorow ...?

this is my first post here.

i've been a lurker for awhile but had no particular desire to join until the other day.. anyways, do you think that if wt decided to face the fact that 607-1914 is an indefensible pile of crap that has been artificially kept steaming for way too long, would it really kick off a mass exodus or anything?

in the short term the fds/gb might lose some authority, but they are hemorrhaging people anyways keeping it around (607 started me on the road to this place).. if wt stopped talking about 1914 for awhile then later killed it, blaming it on "further research" or something, and acknowledged some uncertainty in 607/587, i really doubt that very many of the r&f would think much about it.

In what way, I wonder, can worshipping the Governing Body and serving the imaginary God of the Watchtower be considered a better way of life than so many other lifestyles I could name ?

If the 7mill can swallow the overlapping generation twaddle, they would not even blink if the WT dropped 1914.

It would not occur to them that without 1914 the present GB has no authority, no appointment from J.C or anybody, so no right to dispense what it calls "spiritual food", and certainly no right to make up rules and regulations.

The cult would continue, because the control of their minds would never relax, they would never be allowed to truly think.

I used to wonder how many who associated did not really believe, i could not see how they could act the way they did and believe in God, also a good number seemed not to really think god was listening as they prayed for the congregation at meetings.

Formulaic hackneyed prayers that didn't ring true, actions that belie faith, I wonder how many of the 7mill. really believe ?

I did not experience happiness in a full way until I got rid of my delusional beliefs and faith. I began then to enjoy life as never before.

I had many years in the WT, so am able to compare fairly.

When will they merge the BS, TMS, WTS, T into one meeting ?

it seems to me with all the times being cut from talks, you could save further time and simply smash all the meetings into one on the weekend.

this would also save the need for those extra kingdom hall songs, and one trip to the kh.

with all these savings, jws could easily double their ministry..

I suggested this, in fun, when I was an active Dub, merge all the meetings in to one. I also suggested they could put all the D C on a DVD and save us that expense and boredom.

I don't think they will go down to one per week, because as has been mentioned, the control is lost, plus miss one meeting and it would be a fortnight gone, miss the next and it would then be so easy to not go again.

The best thing they could do would be to inject some life in to the Meetings, maybe have a set of stocks there, and if you've been a bit naughty the bros get to hurl rotten veg at you, or something similar. If they carry on with the same old turgid format and material they will lose members hand over fist as they die from boredom.

Exactly, my friend, their lives are still at risk beacause of the doctrine in an emergency situation, and they share the same risk that others do who recieve whole blood , by taking fractions.

Jehovah does not know his arse from his elbow as we say here in the U.K if the WT doctrine comes from him.

Now that we plan for Retirement

did you have a company or government retirement package or personal ira or 401k.

what advice would you give the 20 to 60 year olds coming to term with 'life in this system'..

Strategy is not something I would advise on, apart from saying, for Chrissakes do SOMETHING !

I was a born in,but not a 100% "taken in" , so, in mid 1975, when it was all supposed to have ended about 3 month later, I started a small pension.

I wish that I had known that the WT was a total scam, and I would have made more of my opportunity to build up a pension.

Nobody will care for you in later life, MAKE PROVSION NOW !!!!
