Matrix moment - what was it and when did you share it?
by MMXIV infor those of you who had a moment like that from the matrix when you realised what you'd believed was fundamentally flawed or a lie - what caused that defining moment and how long was it before you could share your thoughts?.

is it normal for a father, to walk hand in hand in public with his adult daughter?

Think it depends where, when and the culture. I held my dad's hand on my wedding day from the car to the front of the hall. And afterwards during some of the photos. Seemed perfectly natural to me.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 04-01-2012 WT Study (ROYAL PRIESTHOOD)

for sins that the israelites would.

Excellent as always Blondie! I was waiting for your comments.. you never let us down!!
I also found this extremely eye-opening and well researched. The way the NWT distorts the original Greek to put it's own slant on things...

Why Elders leave the Organization and why their Wives stay.
by stuckinamovement ini have talked to quite a few brothers who have served as elders and servants and left the organization.
in most cases their wives have remained in despite the husbands best efforts to persuade his wife that the organization is wrong.
even though the wife can see problems within they continue to press on in service to the society.

I feel so sad for you LITS! I think in all my time 'in' I have only heard of two congregations that have been unloving in this way. But the stories I've heard about those were pretty awful. If you had been in a more loving congregation it could have been so much different for you. However I'm glad your husband has stepped down. My husband did at one point because we needed him as a family more than the cong. did and he knew it. I hope you'll get the chance to find a more normal family life and hopefully the counselling will help with that. Your experiences as a child must have affected you deeply and coloured your life as an adult, I'm sure counselling will help you overcome that too. All the best for you my dear.

Can't believe you elder's wives have had such a hard time. If that was me I'd have been gone! In our cong all us wives get together and support each other. Hubbies have a meeting we leave them stranded. We get the car keys, drive each other home and leave the men there. If they want to stay there they have to find their own way home. It usually works fine. Maybe it's different in the UK I don't know, or maybe I'm just in a lovely cong. Maybe that's why I'm still sticking it out. We all look out for each other. I know I have a struggle with all the beliefs etc. but sometimes when I read these sort of stories I feel as if I'm in a completely different religion as everyone else. If I'd had your problems in your congregations I'd never still be there no matter what!

F&DS reducing occurrences of JESUS in revised New World Translation
by wannabefree inafter much prayerful consideration, responsible representatives of the "faithful and discreet slave" class have decided to reduce the number of times that the name jesus appears in the main text of the new world translation of the holy scriptures (greek scriptures) from 919 to 79.. the reason for this change is one of the same reasons recently given for the new songbook.
as you may recall, the songbook "sing praises to jehovah" had about half of the songs with jesus as the theme.
in the new songbook, "sing to jehovah", we felt it appropriate for jehovah to be exalted more than jesus so the songbook reflects that balanced view by having 2/3 of the songs praising jehovah and 1/3 to jesus.. the translation committee for the new world translation of the holy scriptures found it appropriate to restore the divine name "jehovah" 237 times in the main text of the christian greek scriptures, this is very disproportionate from the number of times the name "jesus"occurs, which is 919 times in the main text.

Some of the old ones are still ok but this one for instance....... no 116 The Light Gets Brighter
"Our Lord has appointed a trustworthy slave,
Through whom he gives food in due season
The light of the truth has grown brighter with time
Appealing to heart and to reason
Our path ever clearer our steps ever firm
we walk in the brightness of day...."
Needless to say, my tongue gets stuck to the roof of my mouth....

Has ANYONE married someone who is not a jw and been/is happy????
by MsGrowingGirl20 inwe were taught that this is detrimental and would only end in doom and gloom...is it true??.
are you happy or know someone who is??
do you regret it?.

Not myself, but I know a couple, she's JW, he's Catholic. They have a wonderful marriage, been married many years and share each other's friends on social occasions, just separate for their religious stuff. Think that's the answer to it really. They respect each other's beliefs and love each other for who they are and not what they are.

So why was he in to pyramidology then and believing God was enthroned in the plaiedes? Just a coincidence?
Anyway, the video was showing some of his writings in his books and I find them disturbing. That's just my own personal feelings. I don't expect everyone else to feel the same way, some couldn't care less one way or the other. It helps to know the history behind it all though.
