((Outback)) remember those days well - I went to my own DF announcement, and looking back, its almost hysterical the audible "gasp", with everyone straining their necks to get a peek at the car accident sitting in the back row! Its funny, like you were diagnosed with small pox or something, and then exhaling in their air space!

Not only has my mother written me off for dead, she's also greatly depressed over the fact that both her grandchildren are condemned to die for their mother's actions as well. The guilt trips she would put on me!!!! It was never enough that I condemned myself to death - now I'm a murderer too - a murderer of her own family.

1. it's a big surprise if they give you a direct answer.. 2. if you corner them they will resort to one of three things: 1) say the scripture is a bad translation (of course the verses they quote are always perfect translations); 2) they change the subject; 3) they start playing word games with you.. 3. many of them view traditions and other writings by famous jws as having more authority than the word of god.. 4. their doctrine completely conflicts with bible doctrine.. 5. the watchtower is their head (athough the bible says christ is the head of the church)

my last attempts at posting were to no avail so i'm just going to test this out first and they edit and post something else.-it worked.. i have been reading a lot of the material on this website and find most of it interesting.
i'm still a witness but have some questions about bible/doctrine that haven't been answered to my satisfaction.
it seems that when i discuss things with people (i.e witness elders) they more or less don't listen to my arguements.

I don't think anyone here will tell you what you should or shouldn't do - that's a personal decision only you should make. And of course you have to decide whats it worth to leave or stay in - to yourself.
With that said, that doesn't stop you from examining your own beliefs - even the JW's encourage that (although they encourage you to test your faith from their publications).
Do what feels right to you - and I look forward to hearing more from both of you!
