Today is my birthday

just thought i'd let you'll know that today is my 34th birthday.

i recieved loads of gifts which my kids helped me open (i think they were more excited than i was).

i've been noticing a few grey hairs showing recently and its becoming more of a struggle to keep my waist size down.

my 1st JWD...

..anniversary.. i made my first post 1 year ago today.

i joined up during a busy year at college and consequently my homework hit the fan and i spent time here instead of studying, i was going through a bad time after confronting a few ghosts and i found strength right here on this board.

by december i thought i should stop posting and get my head back in the study books (i had 8 to read), so said bye in a nice way.

"You Know What You Did"

ever had someone mad at you, but you didn't know why?

i mean, whose responsibility is it to initiate the reconciliation?

if someone comes to me feeling slighted in some way, i think that they should go ahead and let it all out and yell at me if need be.

Well, I can say that after 9 years marriage, I say "You Know what You Did" on many occassions. Me & Hubby have our annoyances w/one another, and for the most part, it doesn't need explaining, nor does it need to be "fixed" - in fact it can't be. He is what he is, I am what I am, and never the "twain shall meet" as it is said. An apology would be nice, but I don't even find that necessarily important anymore. He knows I'm annoyed, and usually he knows why (if he is truly clueless I fill him in - but come on, after the same arguments for 9 years - he oughta have one by now!). More importantly, he knows I'll get over it (which actually usually annoys me even more - especially when I'm pms'ing!).

I think you're right about it being a predominantly female thing though, so I don't think you're being "sexist". I don't think my husband has ever demanded, wanted or expected an apology. He's content to let things blow over, and let me be me (and that's why I love him all the more).

i got a birthday coming up in a few days and while cyber hugs and spanks are swell, there is something i really would enjoy getting for my birthday!

it is just a little bit of hope.. you see, sorry to tell you this, but one of the consequences (for me anyway) for looking at life so seriously and rationally, is that i'm really running close to empty when it comes to having a positive future 10-20-30 or more years down the road.

so, what do you have now for hope?

Hope - that depends on what you want hope for.....hope for what? Eternal life on paradise on earth with people you wouldn't really like to spend a Saturday morning in service with? (okay, maybe a couple that you would). Hope - I'm not sure that's a necessity - if you are living your life to the fullest now. Living and loving to its fullest possibility, and pushing them both beyond. Don't hope - be. Don't wish - just do. We only go around this planet 1x (at least in this body) so make it everything you would hope it should be. Make your paradise now, here, and with the ones you love. Its what we should have been doing all along!

And, btw, A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY - MAY YOU ENJOY IT AND ALL THE ONES TO COME (sorry - couldn't find the spanking icon!)

Well, Nova Scotia would be like a 22 hour drive for us - kind of difficult to do for a weekend trip getaway. Is there anywhere that would be more "central" - I really really really want to me you all!!!!!!

My parents worst JW saying !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, i might have went a little too far this time, but when someone pushes me, i push back, that's just the way i am.. my parents worst saying, and was probaly one of the reasons that i left jw land was ..................."the worst person at the kingdom hall is better than the best person in the world.".

if i had a dollar for everytime i heard that growing up.. so, i asked my mom if she still felt that way, she said sort of (very carefully), i said so the jw child molesters are still better then people in the world, is that how you really feel ?

she started to cry, before it was the media just making up stories, now i think she is realizing that "some" of these stories are true.. she asked me why i hate the jw's so much.. i said i don't hate the jw's, i hate the organization and the lies.

I agree w/Six, you have to assure her that you still love her, and that you've become more "loving" than what the JW's profess to be. Show her that there is life (and love) without the confines of that religion.

My mom's favorite saying was "spare the rod, spoil the child", and let's just say she never spared anything!
