Could you just say that a little louder, I'm all ears.

what are 5 major beliefs in the jw religion?
1. The FDS is the law
2. Advertise, advertise, advertise
3. Exclusivity: exercise hatred to those who question 1. or break a law
4. Individuals don't matter, only classes (especially the FDS class).
5. Don't get hung up about doctrines. Remember 1. and keep busy with 2.
You may be wondering whose is the best summary.
1: mine is the best.
2: MINE IS THE BEST, MINE IS THE BEST, MINE IS THE BEST, and you better f_ing believe it.
3: Any dirty bastard who contradicts my list should be deprived of friends and family (shame we can't stone him).
4: Oh yes! And he's of the apostate class.
5: I don't care how bloody clever AF is, or how funny VeniceIT was, or how charmingly wrong Lark was, or how succinct and accurate Seeker was, someone has to be right AND THAT PERSON HAPPENS TO BE ME.

im intrigued by the jws teachings re the 144,000 and i would much appreciate some input.. i mean, is their any real scriptural back-up to say that a set number of people will go from earth to heaven, or is this just a witness interpretation thing?.
also, how does this remnant become aware that they have a calling?
does the wtbts tend not to persecute these ones, if they hold views that would be deemed as apostate in others?.
:how does this “remnant” become aware that they have a calling?
My impression was that these ones were overshadowed by a particular gooiness such that as they read particular bits of scripture they fairly dripped with it. Any who failed to drip sufficiently were labelled, 'professed anointed'. Amazingly, we had TWO in our congregation, both old (but not old enough), both tough bitches, and I quite liked 'em.
:Does the WTBTS tend not to persecute these one’s, if they hold views that would be deemed as apostate in others
I think there's a little more lattitude given to these. It depends whether they are really accepted as 'real' anointed in the first place. Otherwise only party lining will do.

i see you know is back.
i haven't been keeping up with the boards in some time, but i see that robert is still here, trying to support his rather unique blend of larouche/rutherfordian end-time predictions.. well, i happened across the thread between yk and amazing, and i noticed that yk once again had his facts in error.
he said that larouche got 25% of the democratic primary vote in arkansas in 2000. i assume he meant 2000, because larouche wasn't close to 25% in 1996. well, the fact is that larouche only got 21.53% of the primary vote in arkansas in 2000. is that such a big number so as to make larouche a real, viable candidate?
Good to see you back, Cygnus.

jesus pointed out the hypocrisy of those in his day whose faithlessness led them to become intransigent in the face of jesus' credentials as the messiah and all that that entailed as to jehovah's judgments.
likewise, the prophets indicate that ridiculers and apostates will proclaim themselves to be unconvinced concerning the evidence of christ presence and impending judgment of this system.
jesus' rebuke is equally applicable today, where he acknowledged that his generation was expert in using their powers of reason to interpret the changing clouds and winds to accurately predict the next day's weather, and yet jesus said of them: "hypocrites!

>>Pretty soon we will be using this bills for toiletpaper.
Looks like you got your eyes on the prize already. While other JWs are dreaming about giving bible characters a bible study, (and teaching Lot to leave his daughters alone) you envision the above! Keep thinking like that and you're sure to get through Armageddon.
Fred and YK: Scratch 'n Sniff

That was funny.
>>The apostate, of course, parrots the establishment's line that nothing out of the ordinary is taking place;
What do you mean by 'the establishment'? And in what way are you not parroting the WT establishment's line?

every source i've looked at is very vague and my witness friends just keep encouraging me to stop asking questions and come to meetings.
my sense is, since i disagree so much with jw doctrine and the way it is presented in awake and especially watchtower that i'd never make it as a jw.
still i am curious what the process is and what "tests" if any one must pass.. any info will be much appreciated.. thanks,.
How does one become a JW???
First one submits to JWs superior bible knowledge: down-dog-down.
Than one bathes in their admiration of your progress: good boy.
Next one gets baptised, from there on its: down-dog-down.
Unless one gets promoted, in which case: up-dog-up.
Lastly one gets kicked out: down-dog-down.
Simple!
