Is e-watchman trying to ape JW.com

i thought i would troll down to e-watchman and ended up at the greasy spoon 'paradise cafe' link then i was re-directed to e-jehovahs-witnesses.com.

now that he has at last got his self righteous come-uppance and been booted out of the brownies it looks like he is trying to be an alternative jw.com, but will fail just as his ramblings have failed him.

DEPRIVE them of their god?

No that is not something for me to do. That is up to them and only them.

Depending on their abilities "as I see them" I might gently try to disabuse them of some of their beliefs and expectations. If they seem ready to search into their beliefs.

My previous post was not an attempt to paint all believers with the same brush. Only to point out the possible mind set that leads to complete acceptance and belief in a religion.

I have seen many christians and jw's that seemed to just love rolling around in their sea of gloom and doom. They all seemed to be very fearful all the time. You know, Jehovah may strike at any time.

In my opinion, this is what so quickly triggers their, don't tell me, I don't want to hear it response to questions like, why was the wbts a un associate.

In some ways this even ties into the humans self security system. If you change my beliefs I am in danger, react in any way to (stop this telling me truths about my religion)

Garrybuss, there are those who can't function comfortably with out some mystical belief.

They are incapeable of living life as it is in reality. They need something that requires they do just so, to a set of rules that they can't possibly completely follow. Thus the fear and the anger if YOU disturb this situation.

Now throw in a mysterious god figure and things like angels and satan and demons and unknowable and unseeable events of the distant past and project them forward as indicators of what is about to happen.

These people need a fearful mantle over them and their lives. A gloom and doom attitude just seems to fit them so nicely.

It reminds me of when I was about 8 yrs. old and I and 3 other kids assigned a ghost to an old delapitated house. As darkness was falling we would sneak upon that house and convince ourselves that this place had ghosts = demons= in it and scare the crap out of ourselves and each other.

If anyone tried to deprive us of this, we would get angry with them and stomp our way home.

Our thoughts were "DON'T INTERFERE WITH OUR GHOST and the gleeful fear it brings us to scare ourselves by using the non existant ghost to tickle our fears.

They just never did grow up and become adults .

i have had trouble getting onto mrs ozzie since the operation but this morning i rang the hospital and was put through to mr ozzie himself!.

we spoke for quite a while and he sounded fantastic!!!!!!!.

i passed on the love of the board and told him he has so many people who love him.

Tell the ozzie folks how pleased we are to here this.

If he is talking on the phone this soon, he must be doing pretty good.

My dog has rocks for friends ( true)

i am not kidding and i am not talking just little rocks but rocks the size of soft balls.

she will constantly look for rocks and bring them home and when i try to get rid of her ( friends) like throw them in the woods she can smell them out and brings them back.she sits with her rocks like they are her playmate and chews on them and throws them in the air like a ball.

( ouch ).

Yeah KLS I had a dog like that.

I think that any dog that has strong urge for playing or is very active might do the rock thing.

I had a blue healer/cattle dog mix that was enamored with rocks of all sizes.

It was fun to play with her until it became just too much. She was diging up the yard to find rocks.

Then my grandson " 10 yr old " came to visit and the dog found a playfull friend.

About two days later I could not find the dog. Finaly found her hiding out and she would not come to me.

Had to drag her out and she seemed to be ill. Took her to the vet and he said she has a blockage in or behind the stomach.

He operated and found a rock almost the size of a golf ball in the intestine.

After about $350.00 later she was ok. The vet told me that that cross breed is very energetic and in her case so much so that he recommended giving her to some one with sheep or cattle.

So I did. It seems if they are not working cattle the pent up energy causes them to find some way to use it and for her it was ROCKS.

I think my grandson may have tried to do the catch the rock thing, with a small ball and it only took a large GULP and that was it.

Big rocks are hard on the teeth but at least they can't swallow them.

predictions for the end of the world have been going on since the time of christ, and in every century since then.

during the past 100 years there have been more predictions for the end of the world than have been made in all the previous centuries combined.

many of these prophesied dates have since come and gone.. people look around and see the possibility of many different natural or man-made disasters by which the end could come.

If you could create a new canon - what books/ writings would you include?

Anti-Witnessing to a mental health professional.

well for the past 3 days since coming home from texas, i have been doing my yearly in-service training at work, and in todays class they had a mental health worker come speak to the class about mental health issues.

as class was dismissed i just knew i had to talk to her about jw's and that is what i did.

i spoke for about 20 minutes to her and told her all about how the wt society tries to manipulate the children and instill fears, anxieties, and doubt into the children's minds.. she listened to me intently and agreed with most of the points i was making, she didnt have much knowledge of jw's beforehand, but she definitely could see how raising children in the jw religion could be detrimental to their emotional and psychiatric growth.

I had my yearly check up last year and the doctor mentioned he was a Nazarine church member.

I don't recall how this came up, but anyway.

So I told him my experiences with the wbts jw's. He is usually rushed and in a hurry to get on to the next patient.

For some reason he just sat there and listened to all I had to say, asked a few questions and we parted.

He must have listened for about 20 minutes. I found that unusual but rewarding.

If I guessed it would be about 5 or 6 people a year that have to suffer listening to me describe the wbts.

I had already been out of the jw's for several years and had lost all faith or beliefs of theirs.

Actually I had grown to despise them, their teachings and their shunning.

But when I first read of the UN debacle I was shocked at how truly deceptive they were.

Then the emotion changed to laughter and gladness that they had revealed them selves as hypocrites and liars for all the world to see.

I was certain that all of my family that shunned and looked down on me, would see all this and get out of that cult.

Wrong again, they still believe the wbts is Gods gift to mankind.

Have You Ever Had Any Weird Dreams???

last night i had a dream that a former (stupid) elder called me at 6 a.m. to tell me that he wanted to let me know that he was calling for the body of elders, that they asked him to call me to get together and answer some questions.

i said, "and you're calling me at 6 in the morning?

why???

Minimus if the dream fades rather quickly from memory, say in a week or so, it was just a dream.

If the memory remains strong and colors and such are recalled and not fadeing, it is your subconscious telling you that it thinks a judicial hearing is getting near.

What Is The Purpose Of Life? - please read if you care about me

these last 2 months have been the worst of my life.

i can only answer my subject question by saying the purpose of life is the 4 things sought after in the wizard of oz: love, courage, intelligence, and home.. and we all possess them whether we know it or not.

and especially love.

Cygnus you left a very very bad reputation with me, when you posted how you had beaten a young girl to a concussion injury.

However IF you are here telling the truth, that can be put aside and take it from there.

Almost all of us have had destructive mental or emotional or physical problems at one time in life and they can be very difficult to live through.

But they can be healed if the right treatment is found and then followed. It seems that this is what you are doing and I commend you for that. Thankfully very few of us have such severe physical problems as you describe. Your journey will be a long one, so stay the course and come here if you are able to and let us know what is going on.

You deserve the love and caring of others to help you through this time of trouble.

Wishing you the best and all that life has to offer.
