How would you define RELIGION, and why?

"judge" rutherford defined or classified all religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "religion" and "enemies".. after rutherford's death in 1942, his protege, watchtower vice president, and aclu darling, hayden c. covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the watchtower into a religion.. this was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the us legal system.

this involved twisting philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.. .

this meant that it became necessary for the watchtower to suddenly reclassify and redefine religion (w51 1/15 p. 43 new legal booklet well named; w51 8/15 p. 511 questions from readers; yb75 p. 161 part 2 "for gladys bolton...").. two new watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".. now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.. all this while the watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "good news" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "defending and legally establishing".. how would you have defined religion before learning ttatt?.

i didn't put a lot of thought into this, but this is what my little is to define religion: It is people feeling like they should worship someone and not really knowing who, so they latch on to those who claim to be in contact with this someone, not fully recognizing that the one/s they have latched onto are frauds who are seeking their own glory and power over people with a false narative. I think this statement would apply to all religions. I did mention I didn't think about this for long. Why? There are many religions claiming truth and they can't all be true while likely all have some truth in them. Some truth doesn't make them true and so they are all false and so the leaders lord it over others by setting rules for how they think their god/s should be worshipped, thus empowering themselves...( so blind guides leading the blind )

i’m sure this has been covered in the past but there are a lot of videos appearing lately bringing this up again.. this chap phoned bethel in london about it and as soon as he said song book the service desk said i’m hanging up now.

this was mentioned before about art being "channeled" -I think Marcus on youtube did the video. When the GB say they are God's "channel"-yeah, but which god? Why even use the word channel? Don't we associate it with spiritism? I think they are under demonic influance.

this is interesting...( big brother will be watching them ) I wonder if the congregations have to pay for the service. When I used to use the phone to listen to meeting, I had to have a pin number given by congregation...This system will likely have a pin number so I think this would also be the case.

i watched a video once of men being trained ...it was a study.

they had the men doing the most rediculous things-can't remember quite what now.

so between that video, the letter to elders to keep their mouths shut about the koolaid, and to go along with the csa protocol, and what i will call insurance fraud by the jw, and who knows what other things the men in positions in the org go along with-these things prompt the question.

V- you are so correct about getting rid of the non compliant- you can see that in the veiled threat in the letter where the elders were told to keep their mouth shut. But that went for women as well who dared speak against the GB pushing of "koolaid'. DoC- "anything they are asked to do"-reminded me of a funny occurrance: One elder with the then rbc had a lacky! This lacky wanted in the good graces of big fish elder. So while at a hall build, another who was observing how lacky was the brute labor for the big fish, told the lacky he bet if big fish told him to go jump off clift he would do it. Lacky responded: not again.

I watched a video once of men being trained ...it was a study. They had the men doing the most rediculous things-can't remember quite what now. So between that video, the letter to elders to keep their mouths shut about the koolaid, and to go along with the CSA protocol, and what I will call insurance fraud by the JW, and who knows what other things the men in positions in the org go along with-these things prompt the question. I wonder if women would have been as pliable as men who want to be big fish in a small pond. Maybe there is no real answer to that...so the next question is why would Men put up with going against their grain-surely it riled some to know they were being told to keep there mouth shut by the implied threat of df. Then I was thinking of the men who lied to the Australian royal commission. Why were they so compliant as to lie for the org? So I am rambling.....So I questioned google as to which gender was more compliant, and it is women...which makes sense as they have been brow beaten for like ever...Which makes me wonder why a self supporting, thinking man would be so willing to comply with things that are clearly wrong.

i was watching a youtube by jerome about religious freedom part 2. it was so disgusting to see the two jw testifying that instead of the congregation shunning those who disassociate, it is the person who disassociates that is choosing to shun the congregation.

the commissioners kept asking why someone who had been sexually abused had to be shunned if they disassociated ....jdubs talked in circles and never answered the question.

so glad i woke up and got out ...to support the org is a reproach to anything decent..
