If one's "confidential file" is made available to anyone else (are you saying all elders?), would that not constitute a violation of the member's rights?
As per WT policy, only the S-77 form (Record of Disfellowshipping, Disassociation, or Judicial Reproof) goes into the confidential file. In the form, apart from the persnal info of the accused, there is just one question:
Specify offense(s) for which disfellowshipped (sfl 12:2-39):
Here just the offense is mentioned, for e.g. Apostasy, Sexual Immorality. etc. No other detail about who did it with whom and all is not mentioned.
Elders are not supposed to keep any personal notes on the matters in the file. In all the JC's I have been, even as the Chairman, I never took any personal notes, so there was nothing to retain apart from the form.
If any elder has maintained any document on the case apart from this form, and in the future the accused files a lawsuit, the elder stands at fault. As per policy, no other elder is allowed to access this form apart from the Judicial Committee and the Reinstatement Committee. If the DFéd person accuses that the other elders have accessed his confidential file, then again, in a legal sense those elders will be at fault, not the WT.
Most elders that are selected in the JC are careful in these matters, and hence many disfellowshipping court cases are hardly won by any DF'ed person.
You can see all private details of every member of the congregation. I wonder how these sisters feel about their private details being available to these creepy elders?
On JWHub, you can only see the details that the publishers themselves have provided. How do elders get info on private details unless given by the publishers? Most of these details are captured when a publisher fills some kind of online form.
Not sure what you mean by private details, but details about Judicial cases are not put on JW Hub, but are in confidential files. Also, the moment a publisher attends a judicial hearing, he effectively agrees to have the details recorded somewhere with the congregation and the branch.
I wonder how these sisters feel about their private details being available to these creepy elders?
If she is a devout JW, then she would feel the same like she would with her family doctor having her details.
If she is a doubting JW, then she will never give out any such details to the elders in the first place itself. Simple.

The biggest problem with these CSA court cases is that they begin with a bang and get published everywhere, but by the time it reaches its conclusion, the coverage gets limited, and many people just don't get to know what verdict has been reached.
The same happened with the Australian Commission. While many know about it when it got initiated, they don't know what conclusion it reached, and what ramifications it had for the WT in Australia in legal terms.
reading about jw.org rules changes these days gives me a sad observation.. everything what "is" today, can be gone tomorrow.. that makes it all worthless.
you were an elder, searching for evidence, and proof to df a person.
because he or she was not humble enough.
And now, it became all worthless with the DF policy change.
Not sure if I read your post right, but the DF policy is the same, in fact has become more difficult, Earlier, people would need just one judicial hearing to cry and save from being DF'ed. However, now you meet the committee multiple times and have to keep crying and proving that you are sorry. Our congregation had a JC (now called CoE) which went on for 4 meetings with the same person and then the decision was taken to reprove.
republicans want to make a law that forbids ‘uncontested divorce”.
they based this on this scripture.. matthew 19. is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”.
4 “haven’t you read,” jesus replied, “that at the beginning the creator ‘made them male and female,’and said, ‘for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’ so they are no longer two, but one flesh.
Christian Standard Bible; Exodus 20:10
If he takes an additional wife, he must not reduce the food, clothing, or marital rights of the first wife.
Are you sure you are referring to the right scripture?
anyone have any anecdotal reports of individual congregation finances since the stealth takeover by the wt of their checking accounts?.
are donations up?
can they pay their bills?.
Are donations up? Can they pay their bills?
Congregations that are unable to pay their bills can pass it off to the branch. According to the latest direction, the congregation is responsible for only scheduled maintenance, i.e. Replacing air conditioning filters, cleaning ventilation grilles, replacing light bulbs, checking plumbing fixtures, checking and adjusting door hardware, checking exit lights, changing engine oil on lawn mower, touch-up painting.
The branch, approves and pays for all other expenses that constitutes repair, Minor Renovations, Upgrades, and New Installations, Major Renovations, and New Construction

Blonde. Posted but just what is read; beginning balance, monies spent (no breakdown), ending balance.
No idea what electric, heat, water, money sent off to mom, etc. is.
No. The congregations are directed to post the Page 1 of the Accounts report which includes the breakdown of all receipts and all individual disbursements. The congregation members can see where the money is going.
any fond memories or funny stories relating to the old book study arrangement?.
i remember a time when a new sister turned up with very smart jacket and shirt.
yet she was wearing trousers and when questioned by everyone she said "blimey, i think geoff (her husband) is wearing my skirt!".
As a young boy, I enjoyed the Book Study meetings - mostly because I had the time and the circumstances to attend.
Now as a working professional, I can understand what a pain that would have been to attend, and am happy that this additional meeting was eliminated.
i was thinking about the male children ( even unbaptized ) being placed ahead of the sisters.
; and i thought the jw were raising a bunch of misogynist.
would these kids not feel more important than their mothers let alone other women.
My wife and women in the congregation are quite relieved. It was frustrating to see my wife prance around the hall with the microphone during the 1-hr Watchtower study, while perfectly fit men were warming their seats. In fact, its demeaning to use women for these mundane tasks that can be easily done by men and boys.
Last year during a CSA case in my congregation, my wife was asked to be there with the victim lady during all the sessions that elders had. Now thats a good way to use a woman in the congregation.
