  in my early years of questioning wts theology and methodology in the late 70s', i was entirely on my own.

  i knew that something was seriously wrong with their doctrines, but there was no internet, no discussion groups, and in my particular area of the uk, no listening ear.

  in fact everybody seemed so pleasantly in love with the truth and so drawn along by collective enthusiasm that i seriously began to question my own attitudes.. sometimes i would wonder if i had gone quite mad, lost god's spirit, or had accomplished some dark deed in my past, that unknown to me was stripping me of my faith.

  Con artists usually defraud people of money or property, and are held criminally responsible for their actions. Should the same standard not be applied to the Watchtower, who has defrauded people for over one hundred years, not only bilking them out of their money and property but also their minds, souls and dignity, not unlike the allegiance that Hitler was able to command?

  Some are calling the "Liberalism" you mention "Cultural Marxism," in the sense that even though Marxism was not successful in keeping Communism viable for the West, its motivations and principles are still alive in the minds of intellectuals, philosophers and politicians who continue to long for the demise of political and social freedom, individual rights, capitalism and nationalism.

  Here is one application of this type of thinking (or NON-thinking):
  A reasonable mind would have considered that after 9/11, individuals should have all restrictions on their right to keep and bears arms reduced or eliminated in order for each and every citizen to be more effective in terroristic situations in which they might find themselves. Terrorists and other criminals do not observe laws restricting possession or use of firearms, however, so law-abiding people, who DO observe those laws, are at a great disadvantage. Politically Correct Cultural Marxism, however, sees in the increase of terrorism even greater need to restrict the rights of the law-abiding "to control terrorism." What gets controlled however, is not terrorists or criminals, but the ones most harmed by it. Idiotic? Stupid? Wrong? Evil?

  When people cannot defend themselves the terrorists and the criminals take over. Even centuries of historical observation bear this out.

  Interesting that places such as Culver City, Simi Valley and Chino Hills, California (all in the Greater L.A. area), which allow citizens to carry a concealed firearm, have relatively low crime rates, for obvious reasons.

  Let reasonable minds be in charge of their own destinies, then, and to Hell with Political Correctness and Cultural Marxism!!!!

  Eating Blood.

  i was just reading the sept 15, 1960 watchtower,an article entitled.

  "the sanctity of blood".

  the article was mainly about eating blood and listed numerous very nasty practises such as leaving blood in meat to make it heavier, (hence less "meat" for your money)and not draining blood out of carcasses quickly enough.. this prompted a thought.. gods law on blood being so important to witnesses, and the practises of butchers indifferent to gods law being what they are..... why does the organization allow its members to eat meat purchased from the "world"?.

  None of those things would be cost-effective. It's not really a religion, much less "the Truth," it's just a stupid business masquerading as a religion. I think that Jehovah, if that's who he is, would appreciate more our interest in Paramahansa Yogananda's Self-Realization Fellowhip, for example, if we could help ourselves and perhaps have some spirituality and kindness to share with others, than to waste our time on quotas of "field service" and other BS items that WTS calls part of "the Truth."

  I can imagine an elder and a sister (who really are attracted to one another) conversing in full view of the congregation (in a low voice) after a meeting as they plot their strategy for their next secret date.

  Allowing an MS to do a supervised conducting of the BS once "every two months" shows a R--E--A--L--L--Y progressive spirit, doesn't it? When I did high school practice teaching 40 years ago under the supervision of the regular teacher, "every two months" would have been laughable if the student teacher was to get some real practice!!!!

  WBTS just likes to pontificate the same old same old same old same old
  boring seven and eight pages of boring BS that's been heard countless times wasting countless hours of elders' precious time they could use to really help someone or at least spend with their families. The religion is not one of truth but one of endlessly repeated droning words of deathly boredom that are to be INTERPRETED by JW's as Truth and Holiness (not unlike the "feeling of holiness" one is supposed to experience by being inside a Catholic church as "evidence" that the Church has "God's favor").

  Might as well have motorized prayer wheels (hanging over the podium) inscribed by the GB with words of endless BS so that meeting parts could be eliminated. Or they could devise an OM meeting (Our Ministry) where all you have to do is hum-chant OMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM with the rest of the congregation for two hours and you'll be saved.

  ive not been so angry for a long time.. the watchtower article entitled jehovah hates the course of treachery in the may 1st 2002 issue is a masterpiece of bullshit.

  there are so many points in it i feel that i should make more than one thread.. in this thread i will deal with the issue of marriage discussed from paragraph 13 onwards.

  paragraph 15 warns against marrying an unbeliever and confirms the societys view that only jehovahs witnesses will survive armageddon, so why bother marrying someone who will die soon?.
