would the passage from new world translation be a miss print....because in the holy bible the word is god......so if god is not capitalized..then what god is the book referring to...because there is only one father and one living god witch is jesus...... .

Over the years I’ve had this explained a few different ways. The last explanation of this scripture and a reason for using thecapitol was explained as:
In [the] beginning the Word was , (as in the first creation that being Jesus)
and the Word was with God,(Jesus was with God from the beginning)
and the Word was a god. as in Jesus is “a” god but not “THE God” The big guy the only one that rates a capitol G.
I’ve heard this one as well:
In clause 3, however, evidently because of the absence of the definite article, [THE] they argue that the word "God" undergoes a shift in meaning, making it mean "A mighty one" So, in effect, the WTS says that Jo is saying: "The Word was with God, and the Word was a mighty one"plum

For me one of the dumbest is that Jesus prophecied that a "faithful and discreet slave" would give food at the proper time. No one can identify the "slave". Really. And millions of JWs follow the "slave" yet know not even how to get in touch with them.

well, a few of you are aware of my situation.
for those that are not, basically i more or less admitted to my wife that i no longer believe (after being raised a dub, bethel 'service' etc) and that led to altercations with her and the elders.
i had a friend in the congreation who, after also being raised a jw, had done none of the things i had, even not been baptised (thats right, not in 30+ years!!!
