Why be so judgemental....

i just got through reading a thread based upon a statement from happy man.. from his post i gather that he is still an active jehovah witness.

and thinks that the good in the organisation outweighs the bad.. -----------------------------------.

why is it that when someone comes here for the first time or that when someone says something that is pro-watchtower the members of this board decend apon them like a piece of meat thrown into a kennel full of hungry dogs?.

Jerome, This is no place to be objective or openminded if you are looking for people to like you or be popular you will have to sign on as someone else and say a lot of really hateful things against all JW's even if you have family and friends that are JWs and you love them. Otherwise you will have to settle for making a "FEW" friends.
I personally prefer haveing a "FEW" good friends over having a lot of unstable ones. Thats Just The Way Things Are.

I hated the cliks in the congergations. They are not suppose to exist in a "House of the Lord" well pooh! they do.
But here it's different. You have to expect Clicks. But many of them are probably only a couple posting as a bunch so it's not really as bad as it appears to be. Just bloe it off. It's really harmless.

I hear what your saying,you don't have to convince me or anyone else for that matter. The only thing I want to ask you is all those years you spent passing the plate, why on earth did you NOT partake if you felt so strongly about it. It is your right to do just that. No one can tell you not to and they certainly cannot dicipline you for it.
You should have done what was in your heart.

I do have one other question if you don't mind.

at the last day of what? I'd like to know what your take is on that verse.
Do you take this to mean 'each' individual's last day?
Even thought it refers to, or suggests 'A' as in a particular ONE last day?

Does Mind Control Exist?

there have been several newspaper stories published recently implying that brainwashing and mind control do not exist.

this is very unusual in that, suddenly before the trial of suspected terrorist cult members, we start seeing spontaneous articles from different news sources telling the american public that mind control does not exist.. this has happened before.

Who is Don Adams?

according to watchtower news, the man listed as the president(or officer) of the corporation, on the un 2001-2002 ngo list is called don adams.

doesn't ring any bells, but i'm sure someone must know him.also most borg did not know the president and the secretary/treasurer of wts changed over a year ago.

if sisterxxx had needs and approached you for help in a certain area would you?

if a current jw wanted your help supporting him or her in front of a judicial/investigative committee would you?.

The shunning and d-fping thing has always been the thorn in my side with regard to the society.
I could never find anything scripturally that could validate this practice. The scriptural reference's that have been used to base
the reasoning for this practice to me always seemed to be more in the eyes of the beholder simply because I could not interpret the same meaning in them as the society. I would occasionally offer my own interpretation but it was always quickly dismissed as nothing more then an immature interpretation at the time and I would eventually see differently as my understanding became clearer.

Frustration of Discussion

frustration of discussion .

discussions with my fellow jehovahs witnesses (jw) is not an easy affair when difficult subjects and questions are addressed to ones who pride themselves on an ability to answer for all doctrines as published in the watchtower, which we know as the chief journal of the governing body of jehovahs witnesses and published by the watchtower bible and tract society of new york (wts) and associated corporations.

a recent experience exemplifies this difficulty and how it poses a considerable hindrance to growth in knowledge and understanding among jws.

Religiously inclined are Mentally Ill

i raised this briefly in chat earlier today and i expect a similar response to this thread.. my opinion is that if you are religious/spiritual then you are mentally ill.

Psychotic Disorders. These can be indicated by gross deterioration in behavior from previous levels, extreme disorientation and extreme confusion. Common signs are confusion (thoughts may jump from one idea to the next), hearing voices that are not there, excessive resentment and poor impulse controland behavior or habits that impress others as strange.

For example:........Flying a kite in a lighting storm
....................Building a machine that can fly
....................Talking to someone miles away on a wire
....................Traveling at speeds over 35 miles per hour when everyone knows that it's a scientific fact that the human body cannot withstand the pressure of such high speeds.
....................Making pictures that move

And what about
Brilliant (or so called) Doctor's that performed lobotomies on women who suffered from PMS Fact or fiction?

SO who was mentally ill?
The patient who did not understand what was wrong with her?
Or was it the psychiatrist who "knew"[or thought he knew based on his professional opinion] what was wrong and cut out a piece of her brain?

I regards to being "Needy." And?
There isn't anything veggie or mini, or other, that needs nothing. The moment you become something that needs nothing is the moment you become nothing.

the tree of life took there lives so it was probably the only poison tree in the garden. If they trusted the right God they might still be alive? maybe the tree had fruit that caused them to loose a perfect amune system. they wern't perfect beings obviously because they were stupid.
