  as another thread, they simply ignore the person as if they're dead!.

  An elder in my old cong said from the platform that the only way to Jehovah was through the Body of Elders. Guess my PERSONAL dedication was a waste of time and pool water.

  Elder's wives

  i still go to meetings (sometimes) mostly to acompany my wife and kids.

  i have known of jw friends of mine that have gone to elder's for family problems, dispute's with other cult member's or those hemroid's that just won't clear up.

  whatever.... i personally never ever told an elder or elder's a stitch of info about my personal life or trouble's etc.

  My experience when I discussed a matter with the elders that with in days it was the topic of discusion among the minor children of the elder in the parking lot of the KH.

  my uncle was rushed to the hospital last tuesday with severe stomach pain.

  (he was diagnosed with colon cancer one year ago.

  the doctors, family,and my uncle decided against colon surgery.

  Dear rules and regulations: I am so sorry about the way your cousin was treated but rest assured your uncle knew he was there, that he loved his nephew and that God saw it all. Several years ago my husband who has never been a JW ( and never will be) and I were visiting my Mom. Her brother stopped by ( he has been an elder forever) and he refused to acknowlege my husband even when he extended his hand to my uncle. It was as though he was invisable. Great witness hu??? JW's spend bokque hours banging on doors but they won't extend a hand to those that are not in the cult. I wonder WWJD?? Love and Light Harleybear and ridin free

  WTS position on DF'ed family members

  what is the wts going to do if a non df'ed individual is the primary care provided for say an elderly family member or a handicapped child or parent?

  many of us are in the position that without our assisting these folks they would have no where to turn.

  does not the bible admonish a responsiblity to these loved ones??

  What is the WTS going to do if a non DF'ed individual is the primary care provided for say an elderly family member or a handicapped child or parent? Many of us are in the position that without our assisting these folks they would have no where to turn. Does not the Bible admonish a responsiblity to these loved ones?? Based on recent talks and WT articles will the WTS hold harmless individuals who turn their back on such needy ones and say it is okay that they live under a bridge

  Your advice please on "Scriptual Divorce"

  my ex and i have a legal divorce.. she asked me to write a letter to the b.o.e so she can get a scriptual divorce.. she said she had spoken to the c.o.b.e ans they would take no action against me as i haven't been to a meeting in about 12 years.. my reply "ok get him to put that in writing".

  so do you think they will put that in writing?.

  and would they take action if i did write the letter giveing her a scriptual divorce?.

  Don't do it. If your EX wants a scriptual divorce the burden of proof should be on her. I agree you are being nice to consider granting it but it does not matter how much time passes, those guys have long memories.

  Humm. If memory serves me correctly it is not the Nation of Islam that observes Sharia Law that two males must come forward to attest to a rape of a woman. Now that is going to happen.....NOT. News flash incest, molestation, rape is not done by taking a full page ad out in the NYT or renting a bill board. Why it works (if you want to call it that) is that those are crimes are of secrecy, control, fear, intimidation and shame. Reminds me of an incident several years ago that an elder commited incest with his 14 year old daughter got her pregnant and tried to force her keep in quiet. When the poor childs condition was discoved and she told all, her mother was outranged that hubby dearest was DF'ed. She actually told me that she did not see what the big deal was because no one would have know if he daughter would have been more careful, what?????? using birth control, wearing baggy clothes, move away. It was all I could do not to drill her right between the eyes.

  Help: Been Disfellowshipped for 6 Days

  the prior 3 weeks were an 'interesting' time after having come forward about my sin (problem).

  Dear help: been DF for 6 days.

  First and formost understand that the body of elders and not trained, professional therapists. They are in no way qualified to counsel, guide, or mentor on mattesr of addition. Although I was raised JW and was "active" until my mid 20"s then became "inactive"I thought it was a good idea to "get back in" in my late 40"s. During my "out time" I married my husband, a globe head (that is a worldly person ) who by the was is the best thing that ever happen to me. Only one problem, I had developed a big drinking habit in recent years. Knowing I needed to stop I thought going back would help. Imagine my surprize when my husband were invited to a dinner party at an elders house with several other JW's who all got sloshed to the gills. It was a few weeks later after confiding in another elder about my concerns about my drinking the word got out (as it always does) and the same elder who held the party corned me in the KH and informed me that I would be looking at judicial disipline. For some strange reason I quessed he was doing a little CYA. I said bring it on, but informed him that I was going to be brutally honest about his little dinner party including the several incidents of "brothers" hitting on me. Now understand I was the one with the "problem" but did not drink that night because of my desire to stop drinking and respect his home. When I shared this with my husband he went postal and since then has made it eminently clear to all JW's who visit our home or attempt to shepard that he will not have any of it. Works for me !!!!!!!! by the way I have been sober for sometime with the help of support from friends and loved one , all none being JW's, and knowing God will grant me the serenity of accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.   Okay let me try this again. Im new at this. As a good little pioneer sister I would dutifully go to the KH to meet with the group only to find the only other pioneer (AKA elderet, is that spelled right??) would greet me with Oh our car group is full, I'm sure you have some calls you can make on your own. 3 years of that and I was done.
