The governments of the world in a collective sense? I mean, if God was speaking through Saudi Arabia, or Iran, or China...then it would dicatate that God holds conflicting ideologies. Is God's view of health care the same in Sweden, as it is in the United States....

Stupid drunk drivers......
by Jesus Christ inmy house is at the end of a fairly busy street that dead ends in our front yard and then takes up again a few houses down.
i was trying to set up some email stuff for a client tonight around 10:30 when i heard some police sirens.
i stood up and looked out my window to see a pair of headlights quickly coming towards my house with the police behind them.

The illegally parked lady: (Getting her car out of JC's yard the next day) "Damn, better get my car out of the savior's yard before he gets pissed off more than he already is!"
Jesus Christ: (Runs out on front porch in a fury) "Lady...get prepared to meet your maker!" (Waves hands and turns car into a Mo-ped) "There.. no fuss, no muss, no more shap turns into my driveway!"
The illegally parked lady: (Cross-eyed look)

Forgiving?!?! (Guffaw) I'm sorry, but there's just so much I can withstand.
Pushed in too far, and I go from 0 to BITCH10 seconds. There are just certain people I just can't forgive. Case in point, the governing body. As far as I'm concerned, there's noo point in forgiving them since they're going to hell in a hand basket where they'll be forced to read Dr. Phil self-help books and listen to Supertramp for an eternity. MWUH-HA-HA-HAH!
Other than that, I'm a pretty easy-going guy, and generally forgiving ...

I AM SAD AND NEED SUPPORT
by Scarlet inmy family has decided to shun me.
last week my brother and my husband got in a heated debate and finally my brother asked him why he doesn't believe in the jw's and he said because there religion is based on a lie.
well my parents found out and now have decided the best thing to do is shun me.

Scarlet, Sweetie, Sugar...
We'll be here for you. I truly don't know what it's like to be in your
shoes, but believe me, you're in good company since there are plenty of
people here who have been stabbed to the heart by their own family's
reluctance to acknowledge their own flesh and blood. If God judges
these "older men" claiming to represent God, I hope he has the
decency to slap the son of a bitches silly, hang 'em from a net of
webing spidy-style and staple a sign to their foreheads that reads
"Crime Doesn't Fawking Pay!" Sorry...got a little creative tonight.
In the meantime, I raise my glass to both you and RT for expressing
your strength and fortitude in difficult times...
Many hugs...

Are You A man Or A Woman?
by SpannerintheWorks insometimes, the gender of a poster is relatively easy to deduce due to their style of posting, and, dare i say it, their choice of vocabulatory.
but sometimes it is difficult to know if you are "talking" to a man or a woman (or homosexual).
ok, right away, i hear protests of "what the heck does it matter?

I'm more man than you'll ever be and more woman than you'll ever get!
But, yes it's true, I'm a man.

Are JW's destined for hell and hellfire...
by garboru into be prodded and poked and tormented by satan the devil for an eternity (or whatever your favorite hell story is)?.
now, i realize that nobody but god knows the heart.
and i know what jw's teach with regards to those not a part of the "modern day ark".. but (btw, hey you all!

Are they destined for hell?
What do you think all those district conventions are? There's nohing like having to attend a butt-numbing three day religious convention in Phoenix (the hot sweltering desert...hint, hint). It's an instant JW barbecue with all the fixin's....

Who Voted Today?
by Scarlet inthey are saying in california that we will have a record low turn out at the polls.
i did my duty and voted first thing this morning.
i just hope who i voted for wins!!!!!

Preston
Just voted today. Es twue! Although my options were limited to picking the scumbag democrat over the evil republican, personally I couldn't see how I would stay home from the polls today. Arizona's economy, educational system, and economy suck a big royal weenie! It's time for, as G-dub put it it, "a regime change". But the thing that really bugs me is that they're taking this democracy thing wayyyyyy too far with a new show they're developing for FOX called American Candidate. This two-year series will select potential candidates from all over the country and then let Americans phone in and decide who should be running for president in 2004!! It's like American Idol except without the crappy Diana Ross songs, and the winner gets to nuke Iraq!

Months of the year/Days of the week-Pagan Origin?
by nonjwalltheway inwhy do the jw's still acknowledge the months of the year and the days of the week.
i recall from my elementary school classes that the months of the year and the days of the week were named after roman gods and goddesses.
the watchtower preaches that a good christian will not partake in anything that has pagan origins.
-
Preston
Hi nonjwalltheway. Thank you for reaffirming how hypocritical JW's are (if you're gonna reject all things Pagan, follow through all the way). I mean, big deal, just becaise the Pagans invented it doesn't mean it's all that bad (they were hill dwellers, not Satan worshippers...)

That's funny, my old congregation was okay with the expression "petered out"... that is, until the Gay club down the street took the name. Cheers!
