i've written before about my poor jw gilfriend and her health problems (i am not a jw).
she was in the hospital for an infection the last 3 days and, like usual, a few jws visited her.
(the hospital is conveniently located 5 blocks from their kh...) in speaking with her at times she would mention that "some ladies from my church came to visit" followed immediately by stating her lack of familiarity or even recognition of one or more of the ladies visiting.. she has had jws visit her in hospital and at home many times before.
Robert,
Your post reminded me of when I was a JW. There were many occassions when some JWs and I visited people in their homes and at hospitals that I didn't know personally, but then again, I don't think i really "knew" anyone as a JW. As JW's we were so concerned with image, and "being an example" I remember very little about my whole JW experience as being "real" in any way, shape or form and that what I was doing, I was doing out of "duty" rather than "love". It's all theatrical Robert, a phisod. It's about as phony as one of the staged dramas they had at one of our district conventions. You can't have genuine love for an image, and that's the whole summation of what its like to be a JW.
Rent the movie "safe" with Julianne Moore, it represents the weird interpersonal feelings of the religious

well, i could not avoid going today; a close friend got dunked and i had to go.. i was not even in my seat when i was already writing down egregious mind control bs: the first of the day and here it is:.
(verbatim) "obedience in the congregation to the elders is the same as obedience to jehovah personally".
my day got started with that puker.. ok, sit down and take more notes; not enough caffeine to take it straight.
This is is the biggest load of horse pucky the side of the Pecos!
....GAWD I feel blessed that I can breathe a sigh of relief that I will....never...again...have to listen to the steady diet of mettings, meetings, meetings in the event of sitting in an uncomfortable chair in an un-adequaltely air-conditioned gulag...erm, I mean district convention. "But Brothers, please consider all the volunteers who devoted all their time an energy to setting up these chairs, and getting the stage ready, and practicing for the drama so we could run a profitable religion where we don't need to fund activities for the chillins, or weekend retreats, or what have you to demolish the notion that we disrespect art, diversity and beauty."
The Boredom is just too friggin intesifying for I think anyone to bear.

do you see jws at the local grocery store, walmarts, or on a night on the town?
how does the interaction go?
?
The last time I met a JW was........... at the library of all places about 2 years ago
He was a guy I knew in high school, we were very good friends and then he left for Bethel. We met again about 7 years later, he looked great, was working in Phoneix, and was getting married soon. When I saw him, I said his name and he responded by asking "if I was still a JW". I told him I wasn't and asked him if we could meet sometime for coffee. He said we could "meet for field service" which I thought at first was a joke, but he was serious. I gave him my number and he gave me his before we went our separate ways. When I called him later that week I got a different person, I'd hate to think he deliberately gave me a wrong phone number and that I could chalk it up to my clumsy hand - writing, but......
and that's my JW story

im trying to learn stairway to heaven but its too hard, what should i do?
Are you using sheet music or tablature? I would pick an easier song first like "Needle and the Damage Done" or god forbid 'Smoke on the Water" And as others have said before work on your chords, scales, and arpeggios...

i thought this would be kind of fun to do is list some of the offenses that i have committed according to witness beliefs.
i thought it might be mildly amusing considering the lack of emphasis that any of these things are wrong according to the majority of the population.
i'll limit myself to ten.
Riot Girl Peeps... you sound like an all right chick!
Fortunately, you are in good company here... even in the Bible you'll find out that Jesus' mother's name meant "rebellious"

Mr Humphries as an avatar? Only you would think about having an av like that =)
You are correct sir! So far my avatars have consisted of... - A playgirl model - Him, from the Powepuff Girls - Myself, hiking - Xandir from Drawn Together - Death, from the Sandman Series - Cosmo from Fairly Odd Parents - G W Bush (for comedic value) - Bloo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends - Preston
after surviving what has been a rather depressing week, an idea suddenly came to me.
after being born and raised in the loathsome cult that is the watchtower, i was deprived of many things, including without limitation all holidays and the accompanying joy that goes with them.
as an adult, i've been celebrating all the traditional "worldly" holidays, but although i enjoy and appreciate them, i've noticed that there's something missing.
An excellent idea! I was going to suggest the date of Chuckie T. Russells demise, but alas, he died on Oct.31, 1916, and I enjoy halloween
I wouldn't of suspected from the Bauhaus avatar

for those of yall that didn't know, kristi was a 37-yr-old ms patient that i took care of for the last year of her life.
she had a wonderful ribald sense of humor and talked like a sailor at times.
but it was all to cover up the ultra-sweet and tender heart she had.
I'm sorry girl, my sincerest condolences
