  i noticed another thread on this site relaying a stupid e mail making the rounds of dubdom.. well i just got this one and i thought i would share.... powerful illustration.

  after the prayer, the local elder slowly stood up, walked up to the.

  platform and, before he gave his public talk, he briefly introduced a guest.

  As a story/parable I don't really have a problem with it. Especially when the "point of it" is clearly explained.

  It's a bit like the "Footprints" story.

  When circulated as a "True Story" I have big problems with it.

  If every JW learned how to Google properly they'd all be out in a fortnight.

  A couple of of years ago we bought a Vauxhall Zafira - small 7 seater.

  We usually let the kids sit in the back row.

  And then pan the stereo to the rear

  Please help Lola

  i have a laptop that i bought december of 2005, i paid a good amount of money to get a full warranty on it, it is supposed to cover anything that happens to it, including things like theft, if i lost the laptop they would replace it with a new one and so on.

  over a month ago the thing would not turn on, i took it into the store and they took it to their service dept and gave an order report, all i have to do is wait for it to be fixed.

  so, i wait and i wait and then i wait some more, by now it's been four weeks and no word from the company.

  This is why I NEVER buy extended warranties.

  When someone tries to sell me one I always say "why is it so crap you think it'll breakdown in a year?"

  this one is the best.. this is an experience from one of our sisters from athens spanish that went to italy and greece to serve.

  she relates this experience that i thought was really interesting.

  she asked him why, and he replied, how can i question the man if i have not read them myself.. .

  So he didn't get baptised just before he served a life term for the multiple murders he confessed to, then was DF'd by the WT whilst serving his term, became a regular pioneer whilst DF'd but inside, convert 452 inmates (too scared not to convert) before becoming a CO on his release and re-instatement

  Tell them the next time they start fighting, you're going to take them to the Kingdumb Hall and leave them there. That outta do the trick.

  Lol Mary. We should make that the standard "Apostate Parent Threat" Wouldn't it be hilarious if JWs heard loads of non/exJWs saying that to their kids in the school yard/in the supermarket Thankfully neither of my kids would have the faintest idea what the threat meant. We deliberately left when my youngest was just under 2 so that she wouldn't remember - my son wasn't born.

  Doubting JWs ever approached you?

  while you still were jws did any doubting jw ever try to talk to you about the flaws of the org and instil in you some doubt?

  someone had told me that he didn't believe the gb members were straight and honest people that many of their ideas were wrong and that they had a secret agenda to pursue beyond the one they publicly proclaimed.

  at the time i thought he may be right since they seemed to control everything and didn't allow anyone to contribute even the (so called) anointed.

  I had one show up at the door, after we had been gone for a few years. She started by saying "I want to know what you know. I know you wouldn't have left if you didn't know something". I was cautious but told her a few things anyway. She left, and is now a Mormon. Who can figure?
