Open About My JW Past/Present

i think it's hard to share with new people in life,being raised a witness.

i never know when and if to bring it up.

now,just acquaintances,i don't usually talk about it.. but,with people,especially someone i may consider being in a relationship with,it's difficult to know the right time.

Whilst I dont have relationships, I do still read the Bible and have conversations with many people about it.

People are quite open and interested to listen, unless I reveal I used to be a Witness, if I do then every thing that subsequently comes out of my mouth would be disregarded as Witness beliefs and so my power of communication would become null and void, so if anybody asks me what religion I was in, I truthfully answer, "well, when I was a kid, I used to be in the Church of England.

I really dont know why the Witnesses bother to witness anymore, the dead horse is sick of being flogged.

over the years on jwn i have often found myself hunting through posts of newcomers, hoping against hope i suppose, that the newbie would be one of my former friends in the local congregation down the street.. i just find it hard to imagine that not a soul among these people has taken the courage to investigate their religion and leave like my wife and i have done.. as the local 'active apostate', i also supposed that at any moment some of the 'brothers' would come covertly to my home, knock and say something like " i am out - please let's talk about it, why i left, why you left.

but, none of the above has ever happened.

i did come across a local former jw here, from another congregation, and we have become good friends over the past few years.

Diest is correct.

I joined here just a few months ago and it wasnt long before somebody I didnt know, but attended a neighbouring cong contacted me, and then somebody I did actually socialise with from my first cong also found me here.

Both reported a number of the friends had left or found the truth about the truth, none of whom are to be found here.

Further too my above observations, seem the whole British Government has now been given a good reason to avoid attendance.

I wonder if Gordon Brown and Shimon Peres are declining attending the opening ceremony for the same reason Iam most releaved Iam not at work that day so can maintain a safe distance?

Time will tell if its for the Queen or if Maisha is right.

Or you could Google "Ben Fellows G4S Olympics" and wonder why this televison reporter who joined G4S undercover, is reporting that he was told they are bringing 20,000 of the F.E.M.A. coffins over for the Olympics and that they had 1/2 hour X-Ray search training and 2 hours on how to evacuate London!.

Or try "Rockefella foundation Olympics" for more of what I hope is just the Elites sick imagination rather than a statement of intent.

i am new here, been lurking for a while but felt compeled to join as i would like to comment on more and more of the topics i come across.

by way of an introduction here is some info about me.. i am an active jw, married with a family, living in the uk.

i serve as a ms and have done for many years.

Hi and welcome Konceptual, Iam in the UK, was in the Hayesbridge Circuit, or District?, and lived in the Peaks for a few years as well.

Great to see you dont want to throw the baby out with the bathwater as most here seem to have done, though isnt that the point of religions?, to turn men away from God?

If your happy enough, stay in!, wish I could but they would want me to lie to them before taking me back.

Just make sure to stay right with Jehovah, then it doesnt matter what religion you are in, its quite difficult to maintain that relationship without any peer pressure you know.

What I would advise is, read John chapter 6 with an open mind where Jesus himself states you wont get everlasting life if you dont eat his flesh and drink his blood, so make sure you do do it when you get home.

On the field service, just relate the things you do know are right about God and leave out the JW doctrines of men.

the scene is familiar.. a jehovah's witness family with one member who has awakened from the lie.. the split comes down to an interesting wrong terminology:.

unbelieving mate vs believing mate.. .

the context of the entire family is as a jehovah's witness family.. damage has already been done.

Whilst I can be of no help to you in your sad situation Terry, I can thank you that confirmations of what I was allways worried about when an active, has helped me, you see I was very very fond of a Sister, for the only time in my life I thought I had a chance of Love and family, but the Elders put her off as she was a Pioneer and I wasnt, afterwards, she did finish with me but then she tried to get me back, I refused her, and partly due to fears that you yourself have had materialise.

Yet I never forgave myself for denighing that only chance of happiness that ever came my way, for nearly 20 years I have been in a living death, your Revelations help me realise I was actually saved from an even greater unhappiness if I had wed a woman whose Love was very conditional indeed.

Aliens/Demons

just curious, am i the only one who considers the possibility that " demons " may be " aliens".

or that aliens are other races who have sided with demons, and that we are going to see some serious " war of the worlds " stuff, vaporization included?

maybe there are other races of beings giving the governments help or influencing them?

One thing that puzzles me about these "Aliens" that have such super technology to come all this way, why do they crash so often once they get here?

What I want to know is, are Fairies Demons or did God have lower forms of Spiritual beings, maybe to help keep nature ticking over, and didnt think it wise to mention them to us in case we started worshipping them?

Weather

flooding, storms, summer of rain here in the uk, worldwide weather patterns seem chaotic at the moment.

wonder if the jws are saying it's some kind of sign of impending doom!

mind you 10 years ago on this site i was told by many here they didn't believe in global warming, i bet those members are declining..

I thought by now most people where aware "Global warming" was a hoax, sure the weathers messed up but whilst "Global Warming" puts the blame on us, the average taxpayer, for using our cars and using electric lights, the real perpetrators, the big business who cut down rain forests etc, can still go around ruining the planet whist making us feel guilty and paying for it!

My guess re the current British weather, is that it was caused by BPs oil spills in the Gulf and their use of chemical dispersants so they wouldnt have to clean up the mess, this has caused the Gulf stream to falter with the resultant effect on the Jet Stream.

Actual Global Warming has allways occurred, its tied in with solar cycles, the one we recently experienced has been in decline for quite a few years now, thats why its been getting colder!
