I was told that they took out all the bracketed words because they didn't actually belong in the original manuscripts (and yet they kept the name Jehovah in the New Testament????!!!). They also wanted more "updated" language instead of the English of the 1950's. That's what's being told to the congregations, anyway.

Their New Grey Bible- Why the change?
by Shanagirl init's been awhile since i've been here, but i just checked in the other day and have kind of been lurking and reading.
so, what's the purpose of the change in the jw nwt?
are they re-writing everything to go along with their new light?

Jehovah in the New Testament (New NWT bible )
by jhine ini have just seen in the flesh , or paper , the new nwt .
my witness friends were delighted with it showing me all the new features like the glossary of terms and explanations of the hows and whys .
i did ask about actual content , acting daft not letting on that i knew anything about it .

My JW contact told me that all the bracketed words from the former JW Bible have been deleted because those weren't in the original manuscripts. So then the question is, then WHY do they continue to put the name "Jehovah" throughout the NT when it wasn't originally there?

I would keep the Bible study with the elder..... and then start "innocently" asking all kinds of uncomfortable questions: The pedophilia policies, why the GB can't seem to get God's words right if they are His channel, show the flip flops of new light that have happened in the past, etc. etc. I'll bet your study will close up shop really quick!

None will find its way back to the donors because they need all that money for the pedophile court cases they're piling up.

Dateline about FLDS Warren Jeffs tonight
by ShirleyW inwithin the first two minutes when the word "apostate" was mentioned i said "gee, i think i'm being reminded of something here", show hasn't been on for a half hour yet and i already heard so many similarities.
i wonder how many dubs are watching tonight and doing the usual, "can you believe such a group exists?
how extremely blind they are, or to be fair i guess i should say brianwashed.

The girl who originally put Jeffs in court, Elissa Wall, wrote a book about her upbringing and experience in the FLDS cult, and I read it from cover to cover. It's called "Stolen Innocence", and TOTALLY worth the read! She is a strong woman who overcame a lot of abuse, I recommend it to everyone.

I know that, if it wasn't for the Internet, I would probably have never known the truths about the Watchtower Society.

i have WT archive books all the way back to 1952, all about to be trashed, should i save something?
by roid inmy 90+ yr old grandfather was a jw elder, he's in a nursing home now & we're sorting through his old stuff.. has a lot of jw books, including wt archive compilation books all the way back to 1952. this stuff will probably all be thrown out.
we're all moving house so continuing to store it all would be a pain in the ass.. i remember hearing that the wtbts changed a lot of stuff when they transcribed all the books to dvd (and continue to deny it).
i've never actually bothered looking into it, but it'd be nice to be able to have some hard evidence i can later throw into people's faces >:] .. so, are there any good ones i should save?

I wouldn't throw them away until you first save them on digital media -- you have a treasure trove that the WTS would hate for you to have!
