  Are You Afraid Of Anything???

  after reading many posts on this site, it seems we all share the same types of fears.while witnesses, some were petrified to give a talk in the theocratic ministry school.

  others were sick to their stomach to go out in door to door work.

  if the elders said that they wanted to talk to you after the meeting, fear would set in throughout the whole night.

  Tornado hit my brothers home

  my brother and his family are just thankful to be alive!

  sunday night with tornado warnings out through the state of tn.

  about 7:30 that night, my brother went out on the porch to look at the lightning.

  my family has decided to shun me.

  last week my brother and my husband got in a heated debate and finally my brother asked him why he doesn't believe in the jw's and he said because there religion is based on a lie.

  well my parents found out and now have decided the best thing to do is shun me.

  my wife was speaking negatively about a sister, an elder's wife, because since i resigned as an elder, she does not give her the time of day.

  she said to me that sister-------- is a "spiritual snob.

  " i never heard this expression before.

  I bought myself flowers today

  friday fluff after a rather heated exchange on another thread...time to lighten up a bit.. i work hard for my money (as the song goes) and don't have much left over after a mortgage payment, car & insurance payments, and utilities.

  i'm lucky to have no real debt; i keep my life simple and i learned to be frugal while living with a compulsive spender.. my one luxury allowance - fresh flowers.

  when summer is over, and i can no longer pick a bouquet of assorted roses from my garden, i indulge myself in a few fresh flowers.

  I also buy flowers for the table, picking a bouquet in the summer and buying them in the winter, I love seeing reds, yellows and purples in the white of winter.

  Have you ever saved a life?

  when i was about 11 years old me and my two(not so bright)sisters were at a hotel swimming pool.i was sitting by the pool watching my one sister(we will call her k) that could barely swim herself teach my other sister who was terrified of water(we will call her b) how to swim.they started out in shallow end swimming underwater when b went off course and ended up in the deep end.when she came up she started panicing and k went over to help her.

  b grabed on to k pushing her under water and then k paniced and pushed b under trying to stay above water.they did this cute little routine for a while (up pops k down goes k up pops b down goes b)if it was'nt so life threatening it would of been hilarious.

  (i did start laughing...at first)then it got to the point where i knew i had to do something because they were getting ready to drown...they were swallowing tons of water and there was no time to get help.

  i suppose I did when my son chocked on a piece of apple, he was little so I had to hold him upside down and somehow we got it up, when I put him upright he swallows it again. that time he coughed it out. then i raced to the bathroom with him so he could throw up. sorry for that last sentance.

  What Do You Like to Collect

  over the years i have had several collections, ranging from louisiana bottles, (this collection was stolen); books relating to la.

  which i donated to a library; books by or about jws, which i gave to another library; a stamp collection, which is at my sister's house.

  my florida related stamps are now on exhibit at the state library of florida.

  i'm new to this forum and have been reading all these topics and posts and kind of getting to know some of you.

  i've always purposely avoided anti-witness or ex-witness opinion before but i'm tired and am looking for an end to it all.

  like it says, i am very much in love with a witness, and she is very much in love with me.

  I think it would be best to get this out and in the open with her, you've got to tell her where you stand, show her some facts otherwise this is going to be a thorn in your side year after year.

  have you thought about blood transfusions? if you have children would you let them die because of her beliefs? it would tear you up inside and anger would set in at almost anything. have you read Franz's books?, would she be willing to look at them to see your veiwpoint? it would take two strong people to allow this kind of acceptance. IMA
