hello and welcome to the board
I have not left God but an organization claiming to be a representative of.
they have massed their sins clear up to heaven so the scripture " Get Out of Her My People" rang loud and clear and we did.
maybe i was just curious to hear what they were going to discuss.
i went to the two day circuit assembly.
for those who wonder, its theme was taken from psalms 37:3 it's theme trust in jehovah and do good.
hello and welcome to the board
I have not left God but an organization claiming to be a representative of.
they have massed their sins clear up to heaven so the scripture " Get Out of Her My People" rang loud and clear and we did.
did you find that people , either in the congregation, or in general always tended to try to tell you what you should be doing?
were you always given counsel by the brothers or sisters to "help' you?
how did you react when certain ones were always ready to tell you what you should do?
when we were first studying the elder would try to preach to us on how to raise our boys. how they should sit for the study, needed to hear comments from them and so on.
One of them was allergic to milk products so he would have kool-aid on occassion.
elder G. would say how bad it was for you and when you drink it you tend to go the other way (whatever that meant). he would say all this while drinking his 3rd cup of coffee.
i've only been in and out on the boards to check and comment on some threads i was on.
tink and i have had a stressful few weeks.
my place of employment is taking a beating with the down swing of the economy.
(((((((((((((((((((((( CC and TINK )))))))))))))))))))))))))
that just downright bites !!
go to google.com and type in job listing search.
btw. i sure wish I could win the lottery, seems like I have a few people I'd like to take care of.
him: m'k *groan grunt groan* ya know, she ain't really my old lady.
never ever never never drink.
him: you sound beautiful.
let us know if you called back.
hi everyone: mouthy thinks i should introduce myself to you all, so here i am.
i was a jw for 30 years.
left in 1995 on my own - not df'd nor disassociated.
hello Lolly, My husband and I DA'd in August over several issues, for me it was the pedophile problem that was the catalyst, every other lie then followed suit. We have no other family in so I can understand why things for you have to be this way for now.
i am sitting here watching this shocking interview.
the reporter spent 8 months with this um, person.
i cannot believe how bizarre mr. jackson is.... and it has given me the willies.
I think he probably is a kind hearted individual that doesn't seem to want to grow up. not that any of us do but we don't stay in a world to ourselves either. His face to me is scarey, his nose had gone beyond any more surgeries.
I am saddened by the fact that the little one claims to have no mother, where is she? And I wonder what they will be like as they reach adolencents and adulthood.
So I'm sure we will see a documentary in 10 years of " Life With MY Father, Micheal Jackson."
one out of every 286 people is a jehovah's witness?
yikes!
could this possibly be true?.
they are probably counting the active and inactive to make it look good.
we are trying so hard to reply to questions that we are being presented with by family members.
hubby received a letter from his sister yesterday, replied to it, and received another email from her today.
we just sent her info this evening addressing her claim that the society encourages us to research and compare (yeah right) and that they claim to be a prophet while delivering false prophecies.
Hebrews 10:25 "not forsake the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near."
what I get out of my study bible is : not giving up meeting together The Greek word translated "give up" speaks of desertion and abandonment.
guilty on that account.
Matthew 28:19,20 "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you
As a sign of their union with and commitment to Christ.
not an earthly organization.
Matthew 24:45 "Who really is the faithful and discreet slae whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?"
In the latter part of Russell's presidency someone applied the fiqure of "the faithful and wise servant " to him personally. He accepted the designation.
Why? would this "chosen channel" embark upon a new false time-prophesy and build a major campain to tell the world about 1925, 1975 and the start of the millennium due to come at a time- with man directing the chosen "channel" later having made and %$$ of himself.
When Paul spoke of the faithful steward of the Lord he went on to show that this was not something that humans could determine or render judgment on: they could not make the definitive, determinative, valid identification of who was or was not such a "faithful steward".
the reference is to the individual.
see also WT 3/1/79 page 23
which states: In this regard, however, it must be observed that this "faithful and discreet slave" was never inspired, never perfect. Those writings by cetain members of the "slave" class that came to form the Christian part ov God's Word were inspired and infallible, but that is not true of other writings since.
and one more thing if they care to take the time to look up just where they get their references that they so neatly type in their books, you will find misquotes here and there only to suit their needs.
hope this helps.
i want to thank all those that helped and encouraged me in my hard times!..hubby passed away from his cancer this morning.
i am so sad my heart is broken.
we decided to go ahead and have a memorial for him this weekend at the kingdom hall he went to.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( SNOZZY ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, please come around and talk if you need to.
Love Jackie
doubtless many of us have been to assemblies, and every may the km would come out with an insert about what you were expected to do and how to act.. reviewing the km's over the years , you can see the negative positve "councel".
how to dress, how to act, howt to tip!.
after reading this, doesn't it just want to make you run to attend the next d.c. ?
as far as all those kids running around the hotels, I wonder why those shepards weren't tending the flock and hearding them back to their corrals. Maybe they need examples to speak of examples.
edited to add At one convention a group of young ladies sat together writing notes back and forth, one note happen to fall on the floor and an elder (by the hand of God) picked it up, read it and handed it over to the elders, It was read later in the afternoon, so we got to hear how the young ones would meet in the hotel while mom and dad were at the assembly and how the young sister loved men and so on. they were told they did not have the fear of God in them and that they need to report to the elders. AN UPDATE was given a year later saying that they had all repented. Uh huh!
