  Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT "Neutral'

  when a debate arises between a witness and a non-witness, "neutrality" is often used as the trump card, a final.

  argument that can't be overcome: "we're the only group that is neutral in worldly affairs", they say.. but are jehovah's witnesses really neutral?.

  Jehovah's Witnesses are not neutral.

  They are citizens of the Watchtower nation state.

  The WTBTS acts like a government. It has it's own set of laws, it's own judiciary, it wields the power of punishment over lawbreakers. It tries to control the lives of its citizens as much as any totalitarian govenment that has ever existed. It has it's own system of taxation (head tax at the circut assembly?) and drafts its citizens into compulsory service (field service). Refusal to perform compulsory service is illegal in the watchtower nations state as it is in other nations and will result in legal action by duly constituted authority (elders).

  If a watchtower citizen joins the army of another nation he forfeits his rights of citizenship (disassociation) just as the citizen of any country renounces his citizenship by doing likewise.

  What Proof Is there that Jehovah Selected them in 1918?

  the watchtower bases its authority on the claim jehovah made an inspection of christianity around the years 1918/1919 and selected the bible students (now jehovah's witnesses).

  ok....but other than making this claim (over and over and over again!

  ) what proof does the wt present that they were indeed selected?

  recently, i visited an area known for its 'healthy' congregations.

  i spoke with an experienced elder about conditions.

  he spoke glowingly about pioneers and not having enough kingdom halls.

  Your suggestions clearly display your counter-revolutionary leanings. To suggest that our local party elders are falsely reporting production figures in order to please the Circut and District Commissars as well as the comrades of the Theocratic Politburo is patently anti-watchtower-soviet thinking. Perhaps you should be sent to the theocratic gulag for re-education.

  There was a saying in the former Soviet Union: "They pretend to pay us so we pretend to work."

  There is an unsaid sentiment among the Watchtower party comrades: "They pretend to pay (everlasting life) so we pretend to work (field service).

  Hitler also use the term "New Order" to describe what he intended for Europe as well as the rest of the world. Of course his usage of the term dropped off significantly in April 1945

  Einstein Theory of Relativity

  long ago, in 1969, awake!

  published the one and only article they ever published about einstein's theory of relativity.. einstein's theory is in the news now as the gravity probe b has recently been launched in order to measure the "frame dragging" predicted by general relativity theory as the probe orbits the earth.. if i remember correctly the 1969 awake article questioned whether einstein's theory was correct.

  i doubt very much that there was anyone then, or even now, at bethel who was even remotely qualified to question einstein's theory, but, then again, lack of qualifications hasn't ever held the wt back from writing articles.. the wt library cds only have awakes going back to 1970, so i will have to find a bound volume if i want to read that article again.. anyone else here interested in einstein's theory of gravitation?.

  the centerpiece of san diego's revitalized downtown is horton plaza, an 11.5-acre multi-level shopping and entertainment complex, with shops, restaurants, three major department stores, a 14-screen cinema and a performing arts theatre.

  it now eclipses the once popular balboa theatre where i saw my first bruce lee movie, enter the dragon along with my first jackie chan movie, the big brawl.

  recently, two jehovah?s witnesses, dressed neatly in cheap suits and ties sat motionless in folding chairs behind a vinyl card table directly in the flow of pedestrian shoppers, arms folded, smug smiles on their pasty faces.

  What effect did, being called "Brother or Sister" have on you?

  i remember a month ago, receiving a slip at my door, saying that the memorial is this coming sunday, and it was signed by an elder, saying "your brother" elder so and so.

  it was as if he and i were at the same level by writting "your brother".

  the first reaction i had, seeing "your brother", acted as if we had a special bond, with a responsibility attached to it.. do you think that being called "brother or sister" is a way of manipulating you, a way of getting more out of you?

  I didn't like using "Brother" or "Sister" when addressing my fellow dubs. I always preferred "Comrade."

  i am not sure if this is only a us holiday.. but if you work.. and have a secretary/adminstrative assistant, did you remember to get something today or plans to take him or her out to lunch????.

  So that's why the restaurant was crowded today at lunch time. We went to the Market Broiler at Ontario Mills and it took nearly two hours to have lunch!
