To the r&f...drippy treacly sweetness.
to the body of elders NOT to be read to the r&f 'give us all your money and give it now!!!'
Also, how do people know the money is truly spent on the 'tremendous need' for kh's and assembly halls?? And aren't they legally responsible for showing exactly where their money goes, as a 'nonprofit' org? I know that every charity I donate to has to have a breakdown like this available to the public. How about jw's?

After twenty years of marriageā¦
by John Aquila ini just got a call from a friend who informed me that a brother whom i've known for a while and is an elder, just found out last night that his wife of 20+ years declared she was gay, and left him..
i still need to confirm but my friend is very reliable and was close friends with the family.
heres the thing, she spent 20+ years with this man, has children with him and now decides she wants to follow her heart.

Too bad the religion is going to get in the way for them. For most people they could still be a family, with just the sexual part out. Even if she lives somewhere else, they could all be friends. But he's an elder, she will be df'd, and everything will be a mess because the religion will get in the way. -

Preach, preach, preach....feel guilty...preach some more
by Tornintwo insince starting to wake up, i can't help notice how so many talks emphasise preaching, increasing your hours, pioneering etc...with a hefty load of guilt on the side.. i always noticed the guilt, but now i'm noticing how talks that seem to start out on another issue always seem to come back to hours!
visit talk seemed to start out about persecution, trusting in jehovah etc...but the main thrust in the end was, 'do more hours, pioneer, don't get an education or pursue a career, don't get distracted, hooray for the pioneers!
if you dont do more hours you will be 'the sort that shrink back to destruction'.

You only feel good after service because you can finally go on with your day and not feel guilty for one whole day because you did your 'duty!' -

Article in Australian newspaper regarding jw shunning and charity
by umbertoecho inthis may have been posted before.
however, if you want to read the article about jw shunning and denial of this practice, then have a read.
there is mention of redefining "charity" in terms of how that operates.. http://www.smh.com.au/national/jehovahs-witnesses-a-cruel-cult-20130315-2g5x3.html.

Well they don't officially call it shunning, they officially call it disfellowshipping, which is of course the same as shunning. But following the 'letter' of the law as they do, and not the spirit of the law, 'shunning' is a myth. I'd like to hear him say 'disfellowshipping is a myth.' -

How did you feel after..
by zeb in..you had been away from the wt for a time.
i saw a quote tonight and it leapt off the page for me.. "now i know what it feels like to be part of a circle of friends, part of a group.
its a very different feeling than i have had before and it feels wonderful and right'.. spoken by a lady after being released of her heart "wall" that she had established for protection.. + comments please if you like.

I always wanted to live in a place like stars hollow in Gilmore girls, where there is a real sense of community. Funny thing is, I was there all the time, just never realized it because I was a witness and isolated from most people and activities. So after I left, I've joined lots of causes and groups and my church, and seriously now I can't go to a fair or event without knowing people everywhere I look--and i love it!! Also when talking to people there is no invisible wall between me and them, that 'oh, they're worldly!' wall that kept me from opening up and being genuinely warm to non JW's. -

This is a topic I am going to kill with my opening post. Why haven`t the Major religions of Christendom exposed J.W.`s as the true Apostates
by smiddy ini am initially thinking of the major religious institutions of christianity , catholic ,many branches , church of england , and the major protestant religions , too numerous to mention here.. after all their is 40,000 plus christian religions in the world today ?so obviously j.w.`s are not the only false religion .. so my real question is really , to do with the mainstream christian religions , why are`nt they more aggressive in their condemnation of the jehovah witness religion for their obvious failings ,flip backs ,contradictions ,prophecy`s that never eventuated , end of the world predictions ,re-inventing their past history , even distancing themselves from their past history , and their founding members , such as c.t.russell and j.f.rutherford whose policies they now reject... they need to get on board and bleed it for all it`s worth .. smiddy .

I had breakfast with 50+ JWs on Sunday
by zimunzucz inwe pulled into a hotel parking lot saturday around 6pm on the return leg of a wonderful family vacation to new england - an then fate stepped in---a man in a suit got out of a car with the rest of a picture perfect family.
i immediately noticed all the name tags--- and my blood pressure spiked 50pts- damn!!
i was booked in a 4 story hotel full of jws-- the only time they took off the name tags was in the swimming pool- they were so proud of themselves.. at 6:30 am the hot water went cold in the wife's shower- what do you expect on the 4th floor when a herd of jws is trying to get ready at the same time?

No end to JW logic, Oranges can make you gay
by James Mixon ini was told that today by a jw...no more to say.
-
FayeDunaway
Well, WITHOUT oranges, or any citrus, you can get scurvy...Which is characterized by terrible diarrhea, and NOBODY, gay or not, is thinking about sex when they have diarrhea.
Coincidence?
Oranges=no diarrhea=sexual desire=possible gay sexual desire
no oranges=diarrhea=No sexual desire=no possible gay sexual desire
