Why do Some Ex-JWs go Wacko?

i don't intend to offend anybody with this post, so please excuse me if i do.

i have often wondered why some people that leave the wt organisation go really weird.

there is a couple near me who left a couple of years ago.

You have brought up a very interesting topic - I feel so sorry for ones who have been shunned by their families, it must be heartbreaking. I wrote to my own brother (also a JW) a few weeks ago, and enclosed copies of all of the info that we have got together, mainly from this site, regarding UN, Paedophiles, False Prophecies etc. but as yet he still hasn't been in touch with me. I think that he may be shunning me.

You say that your'e not a strong person, but I think that you, are because you have come out of the "cult" and are standing for principles, don't give them ammunition for gossip. Keep your chin up!

It was so interesting to read your comments. We can relate to the problems you have had to suffer at the hands of the JWs. We had been in the Org. for over thirty years, and had very similar experiences as you and your husband.

My husband (Kaytee) was also incapacitated for four months, on his back, with an exploded disk, they (the elders) took him off the privilege of "carrying the microphones" at the meetings, because of his low hours in the field ministry - he couldn't even walk to the bathroom with having to lean on me for support.

My husband disputed the elders' actions, even writing to the Branch Office about this matter. The elders replied to the Branch office saying that a Ministerial Servant had taken him off this "privilege" because of my "lack of hours" (blame some-one else !)......the MS bro. said that he was not privy to the field service reports and that it was all lies.!

But as you can probably guess - the liars are still up on the platform, lording it over others.

Interesting discussion with some JWs

i had some jws visit me today and meet for the first time.

the time has left me feeling sad and confused.

i learnt some interesting things about these two individuals.. firstly, the man launched straight into his 'good news'.

so, tonight calls for a big celebration.

we're off to the "flute de paris" for an evening of wine and good food in a top restaurant in wsm.

NEW TO YOU ALL...MY STORY

i was born into the witnesses in 1962, i was disfellowshiped when i was 18, because i decided to marry a catholic.

our first son was born 4 years later, and thinking i had to teach our son about god, which in it self is not a bad thought, so the only thing i new was the jw's teaching's, and yes i went back.. it took them 11 months to decide weather they would reinstate me, 11 month's of no one talking to me, no one coming to see my new baby, allways leaving befor the meeting was completely over, so as not to feel any more hurt then nessecary.

after i was reinstated i proceeded to raise our 3 children as jw's.

As others have said, read some of the posts here and you will be very much encouraged.

There is more love shown to one another, here on this board, than I have found in the organisation. I haven't been to the Kingdom Hall for about one year and yet only one close friend has bothered to keep in touch.

i've been visiting this site for about 6 months but haven't had the courage to post anything.

well here goes...... i was born and raised a jw.

although i never really enjoyed anything about the religion, i trudged along because i was afraind of losing my family, and of course afraid of being destroyed in armageddon.

Our Mother is in a coma :(

karla and i came home for a quick shower and a change of clothes.

we ask that you keep our mother and our family in your prayers.

we posted a few weeks ago that our mother had been diagnosed with pancreas cancer and was given 6-18 months with chemo.

practices

i have a younger sister i've recently gotten to know as an adult (she's 10 years my junior).

i know that she was raised as a witness however i'm not real clear on the practices/beliefs.

i do know that she is currently living through a lot of turmoil.

Blood Issue

just a quick point - it may already have been covered.

if jws can now take blood components, where do they think the components come from?

don't they realise that someone has had to lie on a hospital bed for an hour or so whilst a pint of blood is taken from them?

Thank you for your comments, I realise the potential good that could come from this action, but I still am not sure about the whole blood thing (scripturally) even though the JWs have totally changed their thinking on the matter.

By the way, my baby is 20 years old now, so I don't know if I still have the antibodies ?
