  even though i’m agnostic so will not commit to either intelligent design or chance, i love being part of the congregation for the close personal relationships.. there is such a great atmosphere inside the congregation it really is like a family and you don’t get this anywhere else.. a real friend is someone you can rely on when you are in need.

  if things go wrong for you and you are going through a hard time you know real friends will be there for you.

  as long as you didn’t bring it on yourself by going against gods law then you have to prove you are repentant first of course.. there is a lot of research now saying that good friends is essential for healthy and happiness.

  I don’t know why this isn’t talked about more but it’s official teaching that some will jump that side of the fence last min.

  Its even in some videos with prison guards during the great trib jumping the right side of the fence.

  I actually really wonder how many mature sensible physically in JWs are actually secretly like me and subconsciously agnostic?

  I have heard sister say out loud “even if it wasn’t for the hope of Paradise I still love the meeting and ministry” I think this means there a chance in their mind the Bible may not be correct or we don’t have the total correct understanding of it.

  Not at all Stan. I’m sitting on the fence and if some proof of evolution was ever found in archeology or something I would jump that side of the fence.

  the second part of your question is interesting. If the Bible turns out to be correct then I will jump that side of the fence.

  I enjoy being part of the congregation and all the activities but I will look back with no regrets if I grow old and the great tribulation never happened

  Is there really anything wrong with me staying inside the congregation when I am agnostic and I’m going to jump either side of the fence if there is a reasons to.

  If there is ever any evidence to support chance as the start of everything like the missing link is found then I will jump that side of the fence.

  It is a protective measure for young ones especially when their hormones are raging.

  If they see someone who was immoral got dis fellow shopped and how hard it is to be reinstated then they will think twice about being immoral.

  there has to be discipline that means something

  I saw the Chan 4 interview with Vardy. In it, they said 8 million JW's. I noted it, because that's the "number" we've been hearing for about 20 years. (yes, along with 20 million Memorial attendees)

  I've heard those figures since the mid-90's. Do you REALLY think that's the case? LOL!!!!! In reality, there's no likely no more than 3 million worldwide. There's more "out" than still "in."

  WT HQ has been fixing the numbers for decades in order to prop up their false facade.

  Ad I was growing up and always remember the number of witnesses being in the millions the same as the population of the earth in the billions. So is that 1% roughly?

  when I was young the population of the earth was about 6 billion people and the number of witnesses was 6 million. Then 7 for both and now 8 for both.

  the script about the narrow road to life and just a few in it 1%, and wide and spacious the road to destruction with the 99% was always used.

  if your not accurate it does cast doubt on everything else you say

  I have been an elder for a long time and still am. Although I’m agnostic which means I won’t commit to either intelligent design or chance.

  what I can tell you is that there is a rapidly declining number of brothers who want to reach out as it’s called.

  standards are lowering age is lowering but still there is a shortage of brothers who accept being an appointed man.

  our elders meetings going over brothers who we think could reach out are showing huge decline in expectations.

  years ago a brother never would have been considered for various reasons but now he is being asked but usually they say no thanks. Life is hard enough why take on all that o top of what I’m already dealing with.

  The CO is asking brothers to just take it on, he says Jehovah will help you.

  result is in many congregations there are some brothers becoming elders who would not have years ago.

  but there is such a shortage now sometimes sister are doing microphones

  there is not enough brothers to do all the jobs and they are not getting done well
