  Indie film maker John Upton Jr. shot and killed over shubbery dispute

  john upton jr. gained acclaim in the 1990s for his documentary on the abuse of romanian orphans under the communist dictator ceausescu.

  20/20 featured his documentary.. in an ongoing dispute with his neighbor, michael vilkin, over a privacy hedge the dispute ended with vilkin shooting upton first in the stomach and then in the head.

  vilkin is claiming self-defense.

  what it the point of view of the watcthower on transexuals, transgenders and intersex people?

  an article was written about it by the watchtower bible and tract society, but was never published.

  however, several jehovahs witnesses in position of authority are aware of it.

  I knew an intersex person after I left the borg. It was by knowing her that I realized people vary tremendously and why shouldn't there be a difference in sexual preference.

  aargh just shoot me, my wife just came home from field service bi&*&ing about her friends inactive/faded husband.

  the thing is he and his wife use the excuse that he is sick from irratable bowel syndrome.

  however he works 50+ hours a week.

  Man made rules that are at best very tenuously scriptural. Rev book regarding trumpet blasts, repeated changing of doctrine,

  EXACTLY! That, along with all the "hurray for us" rhetoric while there are pedophiles hiding out in the congregations.

  There's a struggle going on in your mind. I remember feeling so disappointed in the organization. It was like mourning. The thing is, you can't unknow what you know.

  you know, the type that looked like a model witness but at home you were not the best example o your family?.

  or maybe you accepted from the faithful slave that oral sex was bad, but you did it secretly---same with masturbation.. or perhaps you put in some wonderful hours and placements on that report slip, knowing you might have exaggerated just a bit.. so, were you one who practiced what you preached?.

  they mean the leadership.

  all of this is code for: one who is not ready to really study and accept how the leadership of jehovah's witnesses use the bible to their own self serving means.

  but to be fair, jw's teach that most all of these characters refer to the leadership of jehovah's witnesses, the governing body.

  Way back in 1988 there was a young immigrant man who started studying with someone in our congregation. My ex-hubby and I picked him up for meetings. One day he asked when he would learn the secret teachings. We all laughed and said there were no "secret teachings." He kept insisting, but we kept telling him the Society was transparent. HAH! I didn't know until I started lurking on this forum how many things I didn't know.

  Oh, turns out the guy was only studying so he could write a book exposing the Watchtower Society.

  leaving the org was not a doctrinal choice for me as it was for many on this board.

  i left mentally because of the boredom and then i physically left by being dfd.

  i have been reading here for about a month or so and now i know i made the right decision.
