by ricoananas injt's comment has got me thinking that just as the u.s. government is going to be going after terrorists and their entities relentlessly, that perhaps the u.s. also should make it against the law to have or be a member of any religious organization that functions "from the top down", or undemocratically.
i especially have a certain theocratic terrorist entity in mind.

Hey Nathan, thanks for reminding us. No wonder those loyal to Charles Taze went into such fits of hysteria when the Borg started to invert itself. For them it was "the Nothing is coming, the Nothing is coming", but it was going to be much worse than plain old Nothing. Maybe like Satan. Or Hitler. Which reminds me, Fascistic Nazism was from the Top Down also. Interesting that JFR started doing his shtick contemporaneously with Hitler. I guess when in doubt, fight Hitler with Hitler and say "Why, they're NOT AT ALL the same."

Police Officers and JW Judicial Committees
by LDH involtaire posted something that made me start thinking about judicial committees and the rights an accused has when summoned by one.. basically, here in the us if you are arrested, usually the police officer or arresting agent will read you your miranda rights.

Once I was transferring my cards to another congregation because the BOE in my first one was literally a large Group of Blue Meanie Bastards run by their Gestapo PO who had recently been installed by the Concentration Camp Schutstaffel High Command in a carefully worked out Theocratic Putsch and somehow I had the idea they had a wrong slant on things and so I had to get my arse out of there. But they thought I was the one with the wrong slant, not them, and formed a Kangaroo Sendoff Party in the Disfellowshipping Room to see me off. I had decided beforehand that I would do just as Jesus did: not revile, agree with everything and offer no defense as if I had done absolutely nothing wrong. Of course what I had done wrong was refuse to kiss arse but other than that nothing really chargeable. It worked! All eight of them were so dumfounded that I was not reacting badly to them that all they could do was sputter, mutter and then send me off in peace. I really don't know why I didn't get it THEN like I got it NOW, but better late than never turned out to be true for me. How blissful I am now! Guess I never will be an ORGANIZATION MAN after all, JT.

Maybe also a large reason for dumping subs comes from the current debacles of Hiding Abuse and WT hypocrisy re the UN being made public. The magazines are really a printed record of WT's decades-long trail of lies, false prophecies, doublespeak, hypocrisy, psychological and spiritual abuse, you name it. Rather than own up to it all and gain some respect, they dump the subs, because they can't stop their perverted course. So sub-dumping fits right into their all-too-familiar pattern of Deceit! They know something's coming for them, and all they can do is weasel this way or that.

Rigid adherence to a King James Bible type of pronunciation of Hebrew words from the Bible in English: MARA becomes May-ra, BAAL becomes Bay-ul, BACA bushes becomes Bay-ca bushes. I could understand and accept Anglo pronunciation of all the names commonly used or at least referred to in English, such as David, Adonijah, Saul, Abijah, Jeremiah, etc, but the WBTS insisted that's how we should pronounce ALL Hebrew words in the Bible. Very hard when you know real Hebrew pronunciation of Hebrew names. Spanish pronunciation of Bible names not far off from Hebrew pronunciation, so in Spanish it's not too bad. Long time ago I wrote to WBTS saying, "If we're all going to speak Hebrew in the New System, why don't we have some kind of classes in REAL Hebrew pronunciation, for our benefit now and so we can talk to all the resurrected Israelites intelligently?" Answer: "We should not concern ourselves with trifles, brother." So I reveled then in being able to say SHIT acceptably in the congregation (WT pronunciation of SHIT-tim, rather than She-TEEM.
Being so crashingly bored with the usual monthly Accounts Report presentations when I were a MS, I tried giving one rounded off to the dollar so that the cong. would not fall asleep in my face (or so I would not fall asleep on my feet giving the report). Many PUBLISHERS afterwards sed "That Was Refreshing, I Actually Understood The Report Without All The Cents." However, our Gestapo PO ripped me apart for doing it that way, reminding me of the "widow's mite" and how that was perhaps just a few cents and that lots of people in the cong. were poor and that I hurt lots of feelings by eliminating the cents. Yeah, Right.
"I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A ELDER AND NOW I ARE ONE" seemed to be his shtick.

i was surprised to learn that in anticipation of the year 1000 catholic europe witnessed a lot of behavior akin to the modern-day jw phenomenon of preparing for the end in diverse ways because they knew the end was coming soon.

RESURRECTION AND THE NEW ORDER
by ricoananas inwbts insists on jesus' reply to the sadducees as literal about who's gonna marry whom in the new order because of multiple marriages in this life (asked by dudes who did not even believe in the resurrection and were always trying to come up with some riddle to trick jesus) is very important to the wbts and also very stupid.
imagine the vast preponderance of those resurrected as having been married before death.
if they "neither marry nor are given in marriage," that means that the overwhelming majority of people resurrected will constitute a sexless class.
