  AAAARRRGHHHH!! I hate this cult so much!! Why the hell whould they think this is ok? The Book of Bible stories book was bad enough but I am sure having them draw it has a worse impact. I thought that comic strip BS about lot and family where Lots wife graphically turned into a salt pillar for looking back was horrific too! Why not include the part where Lots daughters get him drunk and rape him too! Or him offering them to the horny muderous mob! This cult needs to go down. And I was raised on this Shite. My daughter is 3. I want to get my wife out but for my daughters sake, time for that is getting shorter. I dont want her to be F''ed up like I feel I am sometimes

  I Need help with questions to ask during family study to help my wife wake up

  lately when we have our family study we have been just reading the bible alone, without wt spin.

  however i really need to start asking her good questions that wont set off her apostadar.

  so i ask you fine folks; what are some questions or ways i can use the family study to help her think and start using her own mind on key ideas.

  Lately when we have our family study we have been just reading the Bible alone, without WT spin. However I really need to start asking her good questions that wont set off her apostadar.

  So I ask you fine folks; what are some questions or ways I can use the family study to help her think and start using her own mind on key ideas. I know I cant lead her to the answer I want, but to be effective I must let her come to her own conclusion. I know she wont tell me at first about any doubts I am sucsessful in raising, but I know I will get the gears turning, this could have success down the road.

  Since I am still in for my family, I need to make the most of this time left before I siply cannot take any more, and I feel the family study can be the perfect setting to help her to think if I do it the right way.

  Unfortunately it looks like I will have to suffer through this. I have no choice but to take good notes and use the cult speak on steriods to try to ask good questions to awaken my wife. I cant take and wont take many if any more of these. I wont sacrifice my sanity and health and more of the limited time I have in this world. But since I want to get my wife out this is a sacrifice I will make for the time being. To all those who are going, we must take full advantage of the ludicrious things said to form good questions to get our loved ones to think for themselves. Otherwise they will sink further and further in.

  I see that every year they are tightening the grip and becoming more obviously cult-like. Unfourtunately this is only obvious to those of us in the "concsious class" those of us who have awakened.

  However the more cultish they get, the more new members we will see here, those with any thinking mind will be on the way out of Dodge.

  Is it disrespectful to call God by his name?

  this seems to me to be yet another flawed reasoning from the wt.

  god is supposed to be jw's "father".

  it always seemed a bit strange even when i was mentally in, the argument they used to support using the name jehovah.

  This seems to me to be yet another flawed reasoning from the WT. God is supposed to be JW's "father". It always seemed a bit strange even when I was mentally in, the argument they used to support using the name Jehovah. They argue that its impersonal to call someone by their title and not their name. Ok ill give them that. But refering to and praying to your heavenly father should be more personal than that.

  With a human father, most would never dream of saying; hey Fred, how have you been? as an example. Most say dad or father. Jesus always called him Father and instructed his followers to pray referring to God as Father. It seems far more intimate to refer to God as our heavenly Father as opposed to praying to God by his first name as it were.

  I welcome your thoughts, has anyone else ever thought of this too?

  Well goodsoul, congratulations on having the courage to stop attending the hall, how is your wife reacting to all of this?

  As others have said I think it would be better to not have anymore verbal contact with anyone, elders or CO. Email will suffice and this will enable you to make sure what you say is worded just right.

  Im so glad more and more are waking up, good luck on your journey, I think the hard part is walking away. You have done that.

  Why Watchtower fights dirty in its war against "apostates"

So many great sites that are not likely to scare off timid awakening witnesses, your site, jwfacts, and jwstruggle come to mind. I know they have helped me immensely. Sites like this are the opposite of what the GB say apostates are. Thanks Again,

  i have a question i'd like to ask long time witnesses and hopefully get serious answers ... if there is one.. can anyone tell me any area of life that active witnesses are totally free to use their own christian conscience on a matter?.

  (for example, one that has not been commented on by wt articals).

  They like to say "get a Bible trained" conscience. This really means, read the WT to do what the GB would do in a given situation, and if you dont, feel guilt afterwards. As an example, using a "bible trained conscience" most would read the account of Jesus saying how even David ate the loaves that it was lawful only for priests to eat and gave it to his men to eat and this was ok to sustain life in a dire situation. Afterwards how would someone using their own conscience apply this to the blood issue? Enough said

  i ran into an inactive jw at a department store last night and we talked for 20 minutes easily, it was actually pretty fruitful.

  so here's what happened:.

  i see him and recognized him but he didn't know who i was at first as he hasn't seen me in at least a year and i've lost weight, have a goatee and dress way more awesome than i ever did as a dubb schlubb.. so i said hi to him by name and he says, who are you i'm not sure?

  Nice to hear what happened, maybe it will plant some seeds. Most important they are not obeying the directive not to speak to ex-witnesses. Also glad to hear how calm you felt, it had to be a great feeling, and thanks again for Jwstruggle.com It has been and continues to be so encouaging to me

They would present the example of Abraham and Issac in the talk before the distribution.. I dont actually think this would happen but scary tho think it is possible if they tried. They already give up their lives for ill concieved blood ban, or not buying a party card, so I guess its just as bad..
