by jw07 ini can't get into much detail, but i might have been caught doing something natural and fun that the gb would have a fit over.
(i'm not sure at this point if i was seen).
the elders have called a meeting of the entire body tonight, which is strange since they usually meet on weekends.. i've been worrying and sweating like crazy since then, which i think is the programmed jw guilt switch in my mind going off like crazy.. what i want to know is:.

by jw07 insince last week jws have been presented with study material which slyly revises the history of the watchtower organization through omission and twisting of history.
among the tactics is clever wording to draw parallels between jw practices today and supposed true servants of god in the past in order to justify current policy.
for instance presenting as fact that there was a defined governing body operating in ancient times.. pa1: "during a milestone governing body meeting in jerusalem in 49 c.e., the disciple james said: symeon [peter] has related thoroughly how god for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name.".

This way their revisionist history wont be revealed. Thats why the jw.org library only goes back to 2000, and the wtlib only goes back, the WT to 1950 and the Awake to 1970. Text dosent take up much disk space, why not have all WT on there? Because then it would be too easy to expose. Who actually has bound volumes from before 1950, and if you get them on an onine archive site JWs are trained to discredit anything like the unbelievable older quotes as an apostate forgery.

OK Ill start. BU2B stands for Brought up to Believe, I was brought up to believe a false truth, and now for the first time I am figuring out what makes since to me and thinking for myself.
My Avatar is the artwork on Rush's Signals Album, It is one of my favorites and I have always found great meaning in it, plus I like the unique artwork.

The truth just ain't the same any more.
by Julia Orwell inthis has been the sentiment of a few i know who have been full jws for decades.
they say the love is not there like it used to be, and it's become less personal.. anyone heard similar comments from oldies?.
we know the 'truth' ain't the truth in the first place, but i have a feeling there may be a lot of older ones hanging on just because it's all they've ever known, and it the alternative, that there is no paradise around the corner like they've always been taught us unthinkable..

I agree with all above. There are no more picnics, gatherings or anything else. They forbid kids to do extracurricular activities or have non JW friends and replace it with...... Nothing and no one. There is no real Joy that I can see anymore, just people going through the motions of FS, and Meetings twice a week, in hopes that they can still get that pet panda. Or even simply to keep their family and social circle intact. The only activities or fun I see are done within certain cliches at the KH, If you are not in them, you have no friends conditional or otherwise, if you obey the GB to have no outside friends.
I feel the worst for the children. Growing up in the sterile environment of the KH with no friends and no fun

This just another case of do as we say not as we do! To the R+F they say, let your yes mean yes, however where they are concerned, they verbally and on paper, go back on their word to dear Brother Ray Franz. Little do they know this only further cements his point that they are not honest and do not represent true chrstianity.

HI! im new here...
by outofthelionsden ini have been reading post on this forum for many months and i wanted to thank you all for all the great posts and comments that have really helped me get through this hard year of fading.
my husband and i where born in jdubs and almost 1 year ago we started to fade , now that we think about it has been a few years that we were suffering from cognitive dissonance without knowing it.
we feel that finally we have our life back , a life that is just starting.

by Designer Stubble inpage 8 of the latest wt (insider version) has a whole page dedicated to the question whether it is appropriate to sit next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings.. not sure how to paste this in, but check jw.org.
perhaps someone can do this for me.. horrible, no words really on how pharisee like their cult grip and control has become!.
first of all, without any shame they are talking about disfellowshipped minors.

This is so depressing and maddening. I have to watch my JW wife shun her sister even though she sees her in passing regualrly.
In regards to this article, I struggle to see how this dosent scream PHARISEE! to more JWs! Maybe it does but they are afraid to say? When the DFing stance was relaxed in 1974, most appreciated this and eagerly reestablished contact with relatives. This proves that they are under the control of men and not the scriptures. You can tell what JWs arent obeying because these are the things they harp on most often. Dont go to college, dont make money, dont talk to DF family, dont look at porn seem to be the most common. It must drive them crazy to see dubs continue to do these things. It undermines their control. And they probably have nightmares about how they can say not to do something and the R+F do not listen!
This is another addendum onto their very own talmud. Rules about how to apply rules that clarify other rules about rules based on bible verses taken out of context to begin with!
