2010 Circuit Assembly..........Sunday Program nonsense and madness.
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini went to the sunday circuit assembly and came back all riled up with all the nonsense.. the sunday program was on ''safeguarding your spirituality''.
''it is better to remain single and not marry.
that gives you more time for studying and the preaching work.

Could ''boredom'' at the Kingdom Hall be one reason why some members leave?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inyou'll find boredom where there is the absence of a good idea earl nightingale quotes (us motivational writer and author, 1921-1989).
let's forget that most members leave due to the wrong beliefs, doctrines and practices of the wts!.
i was bored out of my mind from the repetitive: talks, prayers, ministry school demonstrations, field service talks(peddle magazines),assemblies, special talks and watchtower magazine study articles.

I have felt that the meetings were boring for as long as I can remember. Time never goes as slow as during a WT study. However now that I know TTATT, they are still boring, however now I am tormented with the selfrighteousness I never noticed before, the demeaning attitude toward all non believers, the mind control tactics, the weak arguments, all of the logical fallacies vollied around, the generall fakeness of all the "friends".. When you know TTATT, it goes from mere boredom to mental torture.

If the GB reinstated the Book study, would it take?
by BU2B ini have been noticing in recent threads that people have been observing that the zeal has been waning among r+f jws.
i have observed that most zealous, die hards have gone to foreign lands, or foreign language congregations, leaving the others in the stagnant english congregations.
when you think of it, if you cared at all about bringing people into the cult, you probably would be preaching where it is fertile, the foreign field.

I was wondering if the GB might reintate the Bookstudy, maybe to get a tighter rein on things. Is this possible? If they do it do you think the JWs would even go for long once they have had a taste of one extra evening?

This is good news, lets hope it spreads. In my KH, the mid-week meetigs can be very sparse. Publisher average is only like 6 hours. Lol at DD! Zapped by Bro Herd, that was priceless

How do JWs explain Egyptian society and culture surviving the flood?
by BU2B inok this is something have been wondering.
has anyone heard any explanation from jws as to how egypt, which even the wt admits existed 4600 years ago, was eliminated by a global flood but resumed a few short years later with the same culture, language etc.
the pyramids are older than the wt date for the flood.

Thats true apognophos, however, as a die hard JW will tell you, its current light until there is new light to replace it. They will ask "has there been any new information on that?"

Is asking questions of logic about a Global Flood effective in waking loved ones?
by BU2B ini was thinking about using a tactic of asking questions revolving around "noahs flood" to try to start my wife doing some serious thinking.
unlike doctrine that cannot often be proven one way or another, this issue can be proven beyond the slightest doubt that it is impossible.. i was thinking about asking a question something like this "i was reading about coral reefs today, and they sure are amazing!
what amazed me the most is how long it takes for them to build the reef, and how long they live!

You are right Adamah, I noticed the same thing. She couldnt care less about the logistics and science of it, but went right to the morality angle (which isnt ideal because nothing on that end can be conclusive") But hey whatever works for her, I will try to use. Thanks for the link buddy, I will check it out.

The webpage does not mention any specific religion or group, yet has points that obviously apply to JWs.
If I could get my wife, or any JW, Mormon, Scientologist, or any cult member to read it, I believe that it would lead them to the exit door eventually as a result.
The trick is, how do you get them to read it?
My Idea is something like this- JWs recently that I have been around have been trash talking Mormons and Scientology, talking about how wierd, wrong and satanic they are. Of course I had to bite my tounge until it bled because JWs are so much like these groups and it is mega fustrating that they cannot see that. Maybe if in conversation I bring up that I have been doing some research on Mormon and Scientology, and Amish (which we just saw a show about) and it led me to believe that they may be a Cult (gasp) (of course JWs believe that there are cults, just dont believe they are one) Then I would say that I found a webpage that has the signs of a Cult and how to recognise them, here take a look at it! It may help us help people in the ministry who are slaves to these groups. (If she does read it, then ask if after reading it, does she think the Amish are a cult? Bear in mind, I would keep this as csual and off hand as possible.
If she reads it and thinks it applies to JWs and gets accusatory I could always back off and say that "I never saw it that way" and "you think we fit this description?"
although it does not name ANY group, just the warning signs of cults My concern is that the site is too obviously applicable to JWs. Here are some kep points they list.
These are just a few of the key points. As you can see they fit JWs so well its as if it was written with them in mind. My fear is that is what she will think and just dismiss it as "apostate propaganda" I could just play dumb if I have too and if she says well this describes us, and just say "really I never looked at it like that"!
Is the page too agressive, or do you fine folks think it may be worth a shot?
If a JW did read this would they soon realize they are in a cult?
Am I just delusional to think there is an easier quicker way to wake someone?
I welcome your thoughts.

Ok so I brought it up a little with her last night, and I phrased things, not like I didnt believe things happened, but in a way like "imagine all the miracles the Bible does not mention that would have had to have happened for the flood" For instance, nimls like Pandas who only eat Bamboo, or Pandas, who only eat eucalyptus. I brought up what a miracle it had to be for Koalas to have migrated from an Island, and travelled many thousands of miles. I said that they would have had to have been miraculously provieded with eucalyptus leaves along their journey, becuse their systems cant tolerate anything else. Also I brought up the timeline in the new WT, and how it shows that the tower of Babel was built only 99 years after the flood. I asked her to guess how many workers it took to build Solomons temple, a building much smaller than "a tower to the heveans" She guessed around 8000. I told her that 2 Chronicles says there were 70,000 laborers 80000 stone cutters and thousands more directing it all. it sure is amazing that the insight book says there were around 4000 males alive at that time. If that guess was true, how could 4,000 people actually less becaause of populations spreading, young children, etc.. How could less than 4,000 people build a civilization, city, and tower to the heavens not to mention the farmers needed in less than 100 years. I also brought up the Egyptian society, and how even if the dates were wrong, and the society started after the flood, that would have taken even more manpower away from the Babel project.
She seemed most amazed by how quickly Noahs decendants went right back to badness right after the flood! How right after the waters receded, they went about building in opposition to Jehovah.
I dont think she really sees the imposibility of a tower like that being built just 99 years after the worlds population was reduced to 8. I do hope I planted at least a little seed. I also need to continueing to work on aking only QUESTIONS, not making STATEMENTS! It is sometimes hard to do but I know it is the only way to truly make people think.
