do we,can we,make time for ourselves?.

many of us exiting the wts were limited and restricted regarding our free time/vacation activities.most activities didn't meet with wts approval for various 'reasons'.

Well, it's not summer where I'm at, lol. It's the July rainy winter season, but that's ok. We have such good weather all year 'round here, that it's no biggie to go through one rainy month per year.

However, July WILL be a very busy month for us, as we're getting ready to move to the USA in August. So I'll be sorting, packing, moving things around that we wish to keep here in Oz, then renting out the properties and getting everything settled and ready to go!

Now, when I get to the USA, we'll be just about ready for my daughter to have her first baby, so I'll be helping her get ready and spending time with my kids and my other two grandchildren, whom I haven't seen in 20 mos by the time I get there! Lots of things to look forward to!

I must admit, Trilobite has a very valid point, Amazing. The word Squirm does describe how I felt when reading the story. You see, the elders in the KH where I attended always acted in this manner, also. Their egos were unbelievably out of bounds. And yes, be honest with yourself here. Didn't it make you feel bad, just thinking about who you used to be? Did you feel some need to "whitewash" or "justify" such behavior, because you can't stand to believe that you acted in such a way?

Just some questions you might pose to yourself. I don't hold it against you now, as it is patently apparent that you realize the way that things are done in that organization are blatantly sexist and WRONG. However, Trilobite and MD are both right in spotting that some justifying/whitewashing were going on in that telling of the story. Maybe you still have some inner work to do, to cut out that part of the ego which still justifies such actions? In any case,

i had long talk with my mom the other day, she called me and wanted to discuss the org and the things i didn't believe in.

i will spare you most of the convo, but a few things "clicked" as i spoke to her.

maybe i have been away for so long i can't clearly remember all of the teachings, but she did agree with a few things i brought up.

Hi Mommy,

I have a suggestion for you. You might ask your mother, when discussing the lack of love in the congregations, "How loving is it of you to shun me when I'm not even DA'd or DF'd? Show me in your Bible where it says to do that." Make her prove to you WHY she is doing this. Use the Shunning information found on the net to turn the tables on her and show her where it is scripturally wrong.

Just a suggestion. Hang in there. I know it's not easy!

I wanted to clarify my earlier post. It seems you thought we were all just following MD's thread of opinion. I wanted to clarify my words.

I thought I made it clear that I, personally, was seeing your post as just putting everything out there for us to see, whether you looked good or bad in it, so we could see the injustice. I SAW that injustice was perpetrated on the girl, and what your part was in it, and commented that I thought the second visit, although it was the first visit to the "Worldly" home, was harassment. I further stated that I thought the parking lot JC was a Kangaroo court. I stand by that statement.

However, I guess I didn't make clear that I feel it is highly commendable of you to post these things just as they happened, even though the evidence against who you were then can be very damning, at least in THIS particular case. I give you credit for trying to keep the girl from being shunned. At the same time, I can clearly see you also were "going with the flow" of the organization and the male ego was highly involved, at least in this case.

Yes, I agreed totally with Tina's posts, both the first and last one. I, too, very much appreciate your posting the Justice series. It gives great food for thought, and exposes the Organization for what it is: Corrupt to it's very core. Thank you.

Blood, The Watchtower and Deceit

while much attention is given to doctrine in sites such as this, very little is noted about the watchtower societys intellectual dishonesty in its publications, especially when it comes to quotations.. oftentimes the societys writers will cite a scholar or author of some repute: "professor blank observes that blah, blah, blah.

" the reader assumes from the quotation that professor blank is in agreement with the organizations position, of course, and that the quotation chosen accurately depicts the authors thoughts.. heres the catch: the words between the quotation marks may be accurate, but the snippet may not at all faithfully represent someones actual thesis or position.

much like a newspaper ad for a movie that quotes a reviewer as saying "monumental!

Funny story about VeniceIT

by popular demand, i am yielding to pressure, to tell a story about our very own veniceit.. in march, venice and her parents were visiting us here in washington state, and we all had dinner at our daughter's home one evening.

(my daughter posts here as princess) princess's son, 4 years old, was quite taken with venice and was showing her around the house.

he was going up the stairs ahead of her, and turned around, face first at her rather, ummm, er, ample?
